like I said in my earlier comments- when your dispatch person says "you should have read the FINE print" and tells me I will not get my 6x12 that I reserved- is horrible service. HORRIBLE... The staff in Cathedral City were amazing and quick and efficient. To find out the day before that my rental was not available was horrible. .

I had reserved a 26 foot truck and was told I would get a phone call if not available. Never received a phone call. Was told out of luck. The girl on the phone was nice and tried to help. Accommodating me with 2 10 foot trucks and a small trailer which was not enough . She also gave me mileage which I did appreciate. I do not blame her she was very nice on the phone. Customer service at this location is awful

Give them vehicles that they don't have problems starting. Waste plenty of time trying to get the truck started I won't even rent from a u-haul again and the manager from the cathedral city ca. Store didn't believe me when I explained the problem I was having even though the attendant told me that a lot of those trucks have that problem.

I was extremely dissapointed with my equipment. I rented a Car trailer and the one strap in the front was completely frayed off and unusable. I went out and bought straps to use. When I returned to the location to drop it off the manager basically told me I had no idea what I was talking about and that it all should have worked. Well I have pictures of the strap not working on my car. He also told me that a frayed off strap is totally okay to use. Considering I tow things for a living, none of the statements from the manager were correct. Any sort of fray on a strap is unnaceptable because the proven strength is not available anymore. Needless to say, I am extremely dissapointed with the whole operation.

U-haul was a great experience-until Cathedral City. Not only did they lose my container, they never communicated with me, until a full week after delivery and pick-up and wanted to know why I had not returned the pad and trailer-a coda on the complete screw-up by Cathedral City. Fortunately, our helper-Doug, solved all the problems caused by U-Haul. I was very pleased with the entire concept of a Pod, the U-Haul in Sacramento and the move helper in Palm Desert. Cathedral City performed so badly, it soured the entire experience

Horrible experience. I was told by the manager by the name Of Spencer Holt that I had to transport my 15ft truck and 8ft U-Box container to an Indio location which was another 25miles from the original drop off location when I had already agreed to drop off at the cathedral city location per my contract. The manager told me they had no room whatsoever, but there was clearly enough space. They were busy so it seemed like he was just trying to push me out the door and deal with other customers. Luckily I was able to get in contact with customer service and they were a great help.

Please improve the app process. I was supposed to pick up the truck and equipment between 7-8 am but wasn't able to. The app process required me to provide 3 people in order for it to be approved what a load of crock. It also requested me provide my passport more load of crock. If this is the process for the app, it'll fail miserably. Thanks.

Slow service until second person took over and then was good. However truck was terrible. Received credit for poor condition and again second customer service great. I think other guy was new so Grace to him. However on return same kid helped people who arrived after he first. Not cool. WHAT'S up with this?! We reserved a Cargo Van online and when we went to pick it up we found ourselves in the most awkward position. In addition to providing my credit card with a huge credit limit and all MY contact info, I was told I needed to supply them with two additional contacts who could act as some sort of reference. How very bizarre. On what planet does anyone give the phone number and name of a 3rd party without their permission? I frantically used my cell and attempted to reach a friend. What if no one answers…I asked, then what? In that case, the clerk informed us, we could not have a Cargo Van but would have to take a 10 Ft truck at the same rate. No way, my husband stated. With or without reaching a friend we were allowed to rent the van. However, we just couldn't get our head around how peculiar this was. I wasn't applying for a job, or security clearance with the government. Also we were told the van had a full tank of gas or close. It was actually down at least 1/8th of a tank according to the gauge. We drove just 27 miles and added 4 gallons which almost brought the needle to the F on the gas gauge, perhaps another 2 gallons to top off the tank and we really would have a full tank.. We pointed this out to Jose when we returned the van but no credit for over-fueling the van well above the level we received it in. We had been in a hurry but should have gone back inside and had them adjust this information on the rental agreement. This is the most convenient location for us to rent a Uhaul but we'll probably forgo the convenience in the future. This phone a friend thing really was a turn-off. Most peculiar. We appreciate that the steering wheel may have been sanitized but the interior clearly wasn't even vacuumed so we left our face masks on the entire time.

The employee we ran into after hours as he was leaving was very helpful. He told us to put the dollies into the cab so they wouldn't get stolen. I thought it was odd to have to do that but, it made sense. You're definitely going to need some upper body strength to do that. I only picked up 4 or 6 blankets? Not the 12 the contract said we rented from the location in San Francisco, so please do not charge me for missing blankets, thank you.

You are asking the wrong questions. Your corporate office is less than desirable, I was called the night before pickup to be informed that no trucks were available at the Ontario, CA location. I had to drive 85 miles to get a truck. I also had to reschedule the moving crew, of which you take no responsibility for regardless of the fact that you take 15% of their revenue. Your corporate office makes the local office take the burden of your lack of concern for your customers. Apparently, it's widely known that this is your reputation of which you show no concern,. Going forward I will never recommend your company again.

It would be helpful if your systems were more efficient for your staff. They work hard and do great customer services, however it appears their background support is tedious causing long lines and frustrated customers. That part is never pleasant.

Make sure the trucks are clean and make sure the gas is where it's supposed to be at it got charged for overage on gas and this location had two different contracts with two different gas locations gas markings to where the gas is and I still got charged for it and I took pictures of how dirty the truck was they didn't bother to give me any type of discounts

The facility itself was fine, and the service I received actually went above and beyond; but I cannot recommend this location. During the 5 or 6 times I visited the office, there was always at least one employee inside (usually more) with no mask. Those who did have masks often would only wear them when customers entered, or would wear them improperly (many customers followed suit). It does not take a rocket scientist to understand how masks work, but many of the employees at this location seem to either not understand or not care. I should mention that there was one female employee (blonde) that seemed to always have her mask on, and she should be duly commended. Sadly most of the other employees working inside (predominantly the young males) didn't seem to take it seriously whatsoever.

I was told that I was to receive a 10x15 unit and was given a reservation number. When I arrived at the location, I was told that they couldn't locate my reservation and that there were no more units available in that size. I had just driven 590 miles, had a truck full of items to be stored and I was extremely tired. This was not good news. The young man behind the counter was kind and pleasant but could only offer me a 10x10. I accepted it because I had no other options at that point and had to take a lot of items to the dump.

I am extremely unhappy! I was given a trailer with retread tires and one came off during the trip, costing me $123 to buy a new one. Then when getting to my end destination, I was charged insurance on the storage unit, but never got one, even though I had one reserved! This meant that I had to book in overnight in Palm desert costing me $ 156 so that I am able to arrange a storage unit elsewhere the following day at a more expensive rate. So no, I am not happy, but this will be heard by everyone I know, and I will post this on my LinkedIn profile where I have in excess of 1,000 top CEO's and Presidents of Companies as connections. So, I will leave the ball in your court and give you until Monday afternoon to decide how you are going to compensate me for this massive inconvenience!

Our first contact was with a employee named Jose. He was rude and unhelpful. We asked if we could get the 1 month free storage so we could unload our truck on 6/10 and then go unload the remainder of our belongings and then turn the truck in. It was 104* that day! It was 11am and the truck was not due to turn in until that Friday 6/12. He rudely said No! and would not discuss it. As we were leaving two other employees both named Chris were amazing and helpful. They proceeded to get in contact with Whitney the asst mgr. who was amazing as well. WE were able to get into the storage unit and off load the items and then turned the truck in earlier than expected. What is a shame is the very first contact we had with anyone in Palm Springs was Jose. JERK! Thank you Whitney and both Chris's. You all were helpful and changed our day into a positive experience.

This U-Haul facility is a model for a well managed and operated representative of the U-Haul business. From start to finish, my experience was exemplary in all ways...especially customer service. An area too many companies/businesses seem to have either forgotten or dismissed as a necessary/significant aspect worthy of the time it takes to show (not just say) that their customers matter and are appreciated.

When we arrived at the facility for our reserved storage unit, the unapologetic clerk informed us there were no units available. WTF! What ‘s the point of reserving a unit if you don’t honor it!
