The self-check-in and equipment return were a total pain in the neck. I have no idea why it was even required, as I had to meet an employee for the keys anyway. Otherwise, everything was fine.Thomas M.
The truck had issues with the back door. Truck was an old piece of junk that was not inspected properly before it was rented out to me. Also the return process through my phone was a mess. Have used it before and have been happy, but it kept throwing an error when I went to submit. Called 1 800 number and was told I'd have to wait 62 min. Thankfully after 10 min the website started to work and I was able to submit. Called customer service and filed a dispute about the junk truckJoshua B.

Overcharged... went straight from gas station to return where I put in 7 gallons of fuel for the 80 miles driven at that point. Reviewing charges I was charged for 4 gallons of fuel. 18 $. The person only marked me at 1/2 tank rather than between 1/2 and 5 /8 where I picked it up and returned. I will tell all that this was done to me.WAYNE D.

I intended to reserve online, but found that I needed clarification on two issues, so I phoned the rental location. The agent I spoke with was very helpful in addressing my concerns. At pickup, your agent Jovan, was friendly and effecient. He also took care of my return at drop-off, and again was very helpful. I would definately rent from them again.David M.
The location was fine. The general manager was professional. The overall UHaul rental experience was terrible, beginning with the original reservation to the failure of the company to provide the customer with an easy experience in returning the rental. I was renting a 10' truck to move some of my daughters furniture to Boston. She changed the move date twice which caused me to change the truck rental dates twice. I was very nervous that I would have a difficult time changing the dates. The staff on the phones as well at the location where I was picking up the truck were super helpful and were very accommodating! Was not told about the 20 $convenience fee which was not convenient at all. After dropping off my vehicle at 6 pm on Sunday, I went to the website as told but it said to turn on location services which I did, and it still wouldnt "find" my U Haul location to check out. I struggled over 20 minutes and trying a friends phone before leaving the parking lot and ended up finding out you needed to record your mileage but no one told us this would be part of the deal and we had already dropped the keys in the garage slot so we couldnt turn the truck back on to retrieve mileage. I put 30 $in gas in the truck before returning it and thought that was more than what we started with but still got charged 8 $for gas. I called the Uhaul customer service number after that , waited on hold AN HOUR- 60 minutes and then it hung up on me. I am disgusted with the price, lack of explanation from the store and the over charges that occurred on my bill. The final cost was FAR more than what was originally told to me. Moving is hard enough under certain circumstances, this was awful.DANIELLE B.
Driver side sun visor had a missing mount that dropped the visor into the field of vision constanty. passanger side mirror was loose & left me with minimal usage. I reported these once I got back to there location, as well as a light & message that came up on the dash shortly after I left the lot indicating the passanger side front tire was low in pressure. The 5x8 enclosed trailer I rented was NOT properly inspected prior and both tires were extremely worn, dry rotted, and had bubbles that were about to burst! Wheel bearing were not adequately greased so I did it myself. I would like credit for this rental for my time and stress your company caused me.Donald D.

They tried to over charge me for an extra day that o didn't use the rental box truck as well they tried to tell me I didn't return it the time it says on there receipt they sent by email. Witch doesn't make sense at all and there is cameras there as well as time stamps on payments of the card. The man at the location when I called today 9/10/2021 to ask why I was over charged told me those lies and then hung up in my face and told me the charges are the charges before he did so. So I'm going to complain every week to your company because this is not how to treat any person or customers.SAMUEL L.
I felt there were issues with the brakes on the truck and in order to start the truck you had to shimmy the shift because you couldn't turn the key to start it also the window knob kept falling off. My experience was terrible to say the least. It all started 2 days prior to our moving date; I received a call indicating that the 26ft moving truck I had reserved a week prior was not available and they were downgrading us to a 10ft truck. A 10ft truck. For a family of 5 moving out of a 4 bedroom house into a new 4 bedroom house. I called around to a few other moving truck companies but it was slim pickings due to the short notice. We decided to deal with the 10ft truck. I called back to confirm the registration and was told they were giving us an extra day and an additional 200 miles in an effort to compensate for the MUCH smaller truck they were giving us. Moving day came and I arrived on time to pick up the truck. I had chosen the 24/7 truck share mobile pick up option. When I arrived the option to pick up the truck within the app was not available; come to find out when they reduced the size of the truck I had ordered to less than half the size, they also screwed up my reservation and I now had to go into the store to check in. The line was out the door. The cashiers were working quicklyâ€¦except one guy, presumably the manager, decided 8am on a Saturday (prime moving day) was THE PERFECT time to clean his desk. Anyway, we ended up having to wait in line for an hour just to check in and pick up the truck. So now, on top of the additional trips that would be required due to the matchbox sized truck they provided us, we were way behind schedule. The moving process was a joke with such a small truck but somehow we made it work. The truck was due back Aug 3 at 8am. We returned it on the 2nd at 8:45pm. Since it was after hours we had to drop it off using the app. While checking it in I was charged for another full dayâ€¦.I had paid 170 $already for the truck and was forced to pay another 55 $when dropping it off citing we kept the truck an additional day. This was untrue. Our reservation, the order info in the app, and the text messages I received ALL VERIFIED THE TRUCK WAS DUE ON THE 3rd. Unfortunately, I had to pay it so I could return the truck on time. First thing the next morning I was on the phone to dispute the charge. First, I called the office that originally contacted me to tell me they couldn't accommodate my reservation. The man I spoke with verified that the truck was not due back until the 3rd and advised me to call the Chicopee store and ask for Patrick, the GM, so he could process the refund. So I called the Chicopee store via the number provided to me and had the absolute pleasure of speaking with the most incompetent, rude woman, with absolutely NO business working with the public. She insisted my reservation was only until the 2nd (which was total BS) and said she would send me an email showing charges. I did not want an email. I was incorrectly charged and wanted my money back. The 170 $I already paid for a 10ft truck was asinine in itself - but 225 $was absolutely not happening. I asked for Patrick but she insisted she had no idea who Patrick was. The communication and consistency with this company is a joke. She said I can call billing to â€œdeal with itâ€. Ok. Cool. Whatever. Except, apparently everyone else had issues with their billing charges as well because I waited over an hour to speak with someone in the Billing Dept. That being said, the man I spoke with in billing was an absolute pleasure, for real this time. He immediately confirmed what I had tried to explain to the other woman and verified that I was incorrectly charged and due a refund. He sent the refund request, noted it would need to be approved by a manager before it could be sent, but assured me all would be well. I received the refund to my credit card two days later. I am thankful for that one man. That being said, I will never ever use Uhaul ever again. What should have been a simple transaction was nothing but a headache and inconvenience. Buying a house in this market and moving an entire family is stress enough, these companies should not be making the process even more difficult.MICHAEL S.

I originally made my reservation online for a Springfield location. I was called 15 minutes after my reservation time (as I was arriving to the location in Springfield) to be informed that my truck was not available at that location. I was then redirected to a location in Chicopee. There was no discount offered for the inconvenience this caused me, although I will say that the young man who took care of me was very apologetic for the miscommunication.JACQUELINE H.

I made a reservation far in advance of our move for a 26 foot truck. I was informed by Voicemail that they could no longer give me my 26 foot truck and switched it to a small 10 foot truck with no apologies only two days before my move. I was on the phone for over an hour with the local office as well as customer service still to know avail. The attitude from all the employees, whether at the location near me or the customer service was an I don't care attitude. they did nothing at all to try and compensate for the lack of truck. I don't understand how out of all the people who were able to get a 26 foot truck we were the ones chosen to get only the small 10 foot truck. We had to make numerous trips and most of our stuff did not fit. We almost broke my refrigerator because we had to lay it down several times just to get it out of that 10 foot track. I will never again recommend U-Haul or use U-Haul at all. As a matter of fact my husbands in the military, and the general manager Patrick Laflamme, lied to him when he told him he would give him a discount on the mileage. But that never happened. We are so very dissatisfied and will never again be back. As I was on hold for over an hour with multiple people, I heard the phrase that you keep your promises. The employee we spoke with was exceptional! Very friendly and helped us navigate the website (because it wasn't working properly). He also brought the truck to the front of the store for us. That being said, the UHaul website was less than adequate. It allowed us to book a truck at a location, that by the customer service rep, "has never had a truck that size." Being less than 24 hours away from our move there was limited availability for us to choose a new truck and location, so we had to go further than 20 miles away. I would have preferred someone call us much closer to our booking date (3 weeks earlier) to say this truck didn't exist. That being said, you can't beat UHaul prices, so I would still use them again despite the inconveniences.ALEXANDER B.

Price was already way to high and dropping off ensured I will never rent another uhaul and will never recommend uhaul. He even tried to charge me for damage that was clearly rusted and very old. I wasn't told when I reserved the trailer that the size I was requesting (5x8) wouldn't be available or that it wasn't allowed to go out of state. I received a voice mail the day before which didn't give me enough time to find another location with the size I was requesting (I live out of state and don't know the area). I was given the larger trailer for the same price, which was great, but it added extra weight, another axle and made me spend more money then expected for gas.JENNIFER H.
