I’m mortified that your automated system seems to indicate one of your core values is keeping your commitments. I was fortunate that there was no one waiting to pick up a truck when I arrived, so I was in and out in a short period of time. There appeared to be only one person working the front desk, so it may have taken a much longer time if there were many customers in line when I arrived. The people that helped me when I picked up and dropped off the truck were friendly and helpful.

The service was sub-par. There was a number of people waiting in line (which is not the problem). The problem is the employees had no sense of urgency to try to process all of the customers faster. I received a trailer that was not checked out to me. The employee told me he would change it in the system, but he did NOT do that. When I showed up to turn in the equipment, the system showed me as not having that certain piece of equipment, which means the change did NOT happen as I was told it would.

We received a confirmation of pickup location via email on Sunday 6/23 saying that our truck would be ready at 7am at our selected location. Upon arriving there we were told they did not have a truck for us although there were 4 ten foot trucks clearly visible. When I showed the employee the confirmation email he checked again and said that an employee had tired to call on Sunday but the phone number was wrong so they cancelled the reservation. He refused to let us have one of the trucks at the location even though we had made the reservation 2 weeks before. We ended up driving across town to get a truck which set the move to So. Cal back by 2 hours. We didn't even get an I'm sorry for the lousy customer service.

Started out as a Disaster. Called the day before thru your very Confusing phone system and Confirmed My Pickup at Franklin Road Sacramento.. Got there 30 minutes early .. No Truck as last Renter refused to terminate and return truck. After A Lot of BS I was Finally told Drive to other side of Sacramento Auburn Road location as they had a Truck for me. Thank God that U Haul has Tyler Park working at this Store .. I walked in NOT Very Happy or Very Nice as I WAS Pissed .. Tyler Park diffused me with his Big Smile and Amazing Customer Service Skills. Long Story Short He Saved me as a Customer Both that day and in the Future.. Kudos Young Man .. You ARE Management Material .. This location was set up nicely. Very easy to navigate through, even though I was only renting a trailer. Clean and organized yard. Online and at store experience flowed nicely. I will be renting trailers again soon for other projects and Home Depot runs for lumber.

When a customer makes a reservation - don't call them the day before and tell them you don't have what they need. A,reservation means you will make sure equipment is available. AND make sure all of the necessary items that they paid for are there as well. I will never do business with uhaul again.

I always rent from this location, so naturally, I Was Quite Upset When They Kept Trying To Send Me Somewhere Else For The Trailer I Wanted, If It Is Not At The Location I Have Selected, Then I Don't Want It! It Is Really Just That Simple! So I Finally Went Down To My Nearest Location And Rented A Trailer That Would Suffice. I Used It For The Rental Term And Returned It To The Same Location The Next Day! Yet I Am Getting Calls Concerning Where I Dropped Off The Trailer, Because It Was Not Returned To The Stockton Blvd. Location! Why Would I Return It There? I Didn't Rent Shit From Them And Never Agreed To Return Anything To Them!!! Plus U-Haul's Roadside Assistance Is Rude, Unprofessional, And Uneducated! I Will Never Call Them Again, I'll Just Leave Your Shit There On The Side Of The Road And Cancel The Damn Credit Card! Corporate U-haul Gets Two Thumbs Down From Me On This One, But I Still Love My Local U-Haul!

The original reservation was changed twice and the online app did not work completely. I was very frustrated with the overall process. It delayed my moving plans by several hours. The location was fine it was just the overall process and the information I received when I called was different every time. I was on hold for a total of 29 minutes at one point.

I have rented from this location several times as it is the closest to me. Every part of my experience is great except for one. 2 of the last 3 times I had to wait around 20 minutes. The time I rented on a weekday the wait was short. The other times were on a weekend day. Both of those times were a little after 9a and only 1 employee was working the counter. Other than that, the employees that have helped me have been great as are the trucks. I am pretty patient so the wait does not bother me much, but this past Sunday I did see one customer give up and leave.

Have your equipment ready for pickup when stated. Was told I was set up for 24/7 pickup with me planning on pickup at 6am. I was denied through the website. Was told by opening employee that “someone must have forgot to set it up...”. Meanwhile I was over an hour behind schedule due to having to wait for the store to open. Often when I would call the U Haul store I would get a call center. This was frustrating when I was attempting to enter through the gate to go to my shed and my card didn't work. I rang the bell for service but no response. The call center couldn't help because they're off-site. More than once I had to walk up that hill to the office just to have them assist me in gaining entrance. There are more circumstances that I could list but I'm responding to this review on my phone a and it is not conducive to lengthy writing. The customer service is great here but the communication is greatly lacking.

Making a reservation should make the process go quicker. The people in front of me in line this morning said that, and I totally agree. What about a separate line for those with a reservation? I got there at 9:29 with a line all the way to the back of the store and with the 2 people working made it to the front of line to have to listen to the 2 employees bickering over organization of returned trucks, at 10:05. 35 minutes in line. No employee said anything to the numerous guests waiting, until I was finally helped and they apologized for the wait. No greeting when we entered, no overall general apology to anyone in line for the wait while we waited, no crappy coffee station or boring music… just unhappy employees with impatient and equally unhappy guests. Finally left Uhaul at 10:20. Also was warned by the employee some users had issues with the online website truck check in not working. Sure enough, it wouldn’t work for me and I had to go back in the store again to return. Ridiculously inefficient for a simple 6 hour rental.

The truck was covered with dog hair when we picked it up. We put gas in the truck before we left town. Our destination was Pioneer. We lost a wheel bearing and were forced to stop in a construction zone and holding up traffic.. Fortunately, we had someone following us and they went back to a U haul store. They were closed on that day, but the owner was there and got us another truck. When we returned the truck the following day, back in Sac, we were charged for 2 days and no compensation was made for our inconvenience and the dangerous situation we were put in. I will never rent from them again. We weren't even compensated for the gas in the 1st truck. Very poor customer service!!!

The fuel levels were wrong. The worker fixed it but it was still wrong. Paper said half tank but the location is on a slope as soon as we got on the main road it moved to 1/4 of a tank. Was charged a gas fee. Took a picture but worker said there was no way to receive picture mom didn't want to travel back to location.

I booked a rental online to pick up the truck in the zip 95842 and drop off 2 days later in the zip 95816. I dont remember the exact number I was quoted, but somewhere in the $75 range. When i got to the location to pick up, we waited a long time and there seemed to only be one person working. He rushed through the people before us and then rushed through us. This is when I realized we weren't getting the reservation I booked. He informed us that we'd have to return it the next day at 4 and that it would have to be to the same location. This would double our mileage. I told him that we booked to return the day after to a location closer to where we were going. He quickly told me that that's not what we were getting and that was basically the end of it. We were charged $77. We decided we'd at least try to get it back to the same location by 4pm the next day. He told us that if we were late, to put it the key in drop box. We took the truck, moved, and drove it aaaalll the way back, doubling our mileage, and getting there later around 5:30, putting the key in the drop like we were told. Then, the next day, I saw that we were charged an additional $60+. I thought this was surely a mistake! We returned it with gas and only went 12 or so miles over the estimation. So I called Uhaul to ask about it and the gal who answered the phone crassly explained that we were charged for an entire period for bringing it back late. When I tried explaining the situation to her, and that we were never told of this stipulation, and that we were charged nearly double what I booked AFTER having to take a reservation that wasn't what i originally booked, she got upset with me and told me that I shouldn't be surprised because this is what I booked online. I told her that that isnt what I booked, she told me that its what I wanted so I should be ok with being charged double. I told her that I thought she was being rude and she said "no sir. I'm not rude. I'm not giving you the answer that you want and you just think that's rude." I told her that I'd be reporting this charge as fraud and she got angry with me, telling me that I was wrong, this was my fault, and that i should just accept it and move on. I told her that whether or not I'm right or wrong, i just wanted to explain myself and she wasn't listening to me. She started going on about how I wasn't listening to her and I'm expecting her to change her answer so I hung up on her before I lost it. I have moved many times in my life, twice across this country. Uhaul has never treated me this way and I'm sad to know that this happened. We had no issues with the truck itself. But both of the people we encountered were problematic and made this a bad experience.

My only beef (and I didn't mention it only because I didn't feel like arguing the point)- was that I originally estimated (and paid for) 20 miles- and only used about half that- (one moving job didn't happen- THAT would have pushed the mileage up)- due to time constraints, I didn't have time to fill up gas and still be on time for check in- so, for my timeliness, and honesty- I was docked an extra 15.00 in gas charges. Tried one location, express food & liquor off of dewey and madison that was not a drop off location. would appreciate making it easier to find a location to drop off after hours so that my partner is not driving in his car while i follow in the uhaul.

I had an excellent experience renting from this place and can't think of any way it could be improved. The counterman who helped me was very professional, the truck was clean and ran beautifully, it was a great experience.

I booked to return at a specific location in my original reservation when the location was changed that location was no longer an option. I was told to call whatever location I want to drop off at and ask if they are able to take the items . I called the Garfield location down the street from this location and specifically asked if they could take the 15ft box truck along with the auto transport the representative said yes but when I arrived he said he must have been mistaken. This would not be such a big issue if it wasn’t in the pouring rain and I hadn’t already had such a negative experience with U-Haul from the beginning. There was a huge back and forth on whether the equipment would be available or not which causes a huge problem for someone who is driving across multiple states and hired others to help along the way the time and location changes/uncertainty definitely made it so I likely will not utilize U-Haul again. I didn’t receive a final bill which is supposed to have the insurance taken off that’s also inconvenient. I hope this isn’t normally how U-Haul customers are treated .

I had a 24 hr pick up but the truck wasn’t ready and I couldn’t get the truck until 9am. I had 10 guys at my house at 730 that sat until 930 because of U-Haul and the customer service I called sucked. Luckily the person that helped after 9am was great... Crappy service other than that...

Check the tire pressure on vehicles before you rent them. The first vehicle had the front tires overinflated by over 20 lbs. the second vehicle was under inflated on all tires. I would recommend it only to my friends who carry their own tire gauges,

The only thing I had concern about was when I first moved into the unit, it was strong with the smell of weed. I worried that people were either growing there or transporting which attracts rodents.
