The locations were both fine. However, my overall experience was subpar at best. When I was given a quote for my overall price, and then verified my quote on the second call, the agreement was for the truck, tow dolly and the utility dolly. When I picked up the truck (tow dolly was at a different location) I asked the lady when I made the payment is this is the payment for the truck, tow dolly, and utility dolly, plus I added the $85 insurance. She told me it was and if they try to charge me when I pick up the dolly then they will have to call the customer service line to fix it. I was charged when I picked up the tow dolly and the employee could not reach the customer service line. I needed the dolly so I had him charge my card assuming it would just deduct the charge from the original charge. That did not happen. When I called customer service myself to fix everything they basically just told me that I was wrong and the price I was quoted for was just the truck. I asked why the person on the phone told me it was the quote for everything and they did not have an answer for me. When I asked why the first pickup location lady told me it was the total including the tow dolly, they did not have an answer for me. Please have someone call me so we can work this outTanner G.
I will not use U-Haul in Queens ever again. Although the representative at the Woodside location was very helpful, my experience with U-Haul as a whole was really frustrating. Our pickup location was changed without any text, email or phone call notifying us of the change. I asked for a 6am truck share pickup but because the location was changed, we had to wait until 7am for the store to open to get the keys. We waited outside of the woodside store for an hour until it opened. That severely impacted our day as we were getting the keys to our new home at 9am and wanted to move our things in right after receiving the keys. Needless to say, we did a lot of unnecessary traveling. After picking up the truck, we had to leave it in queens, drive to Suffolk, get the keys to our new home, drive back to queens, pack the U-Haul and then drive back to Suffolk. Absolutely terrible experience. The only positive experience I had was with the representative at Woodside helping me get the truck and leaving the truck in Coram. That's it.Kalina G.
The lock box for my key was blocked off with cones so I couldn't tell it was there, they didn't give us the furniture dolly that we payed for, the truck was not full when we picked it up and they still charged us $20 for it not being full. Why should we have to put in more gas than what was in it when we picked it up? They were also very rudeNicole S.

Customer relations training for new employees. I was supposed to return an auto trailer at 7pm. I knew I wasn't going to make it so I called the store. Spoke with a man and explained the situation, he said I could drop it off that night and auto checkout or come by the next day and drop it off. He also said I would be charged for an extra day for missing the drop-off time. I understood and was OK with it. Great experience. About 30 minutes later I received a call from the same store, this time a female employee. She asks where I am and that they were expecting me. I explained to her that I just called and spoke to someone and already straightened it out. She then grills me on who did I speak to, nobody there knows anything about me being late. I said a gentleman and she says there are 3 guys that work there, who? I said I didn't know. She asks where I called and I give her the store number. She says well there is a guy here waiting to rent the trailer. I again say I won't be there before the store closes. She says we'll I guess there is nothing we can do about it. Have a good day. Complete opposite experience from the first employee and soured me on future rentals from this store and possibly uhaul in the future. Never had an issue before last night and I've been renting trailers multiple times the past 4 years moving kids back and forth to college.William R.

Fix the alignment in the truck that I used, and also easier to turn mirrors. I could not move the mirrors and because of that I couldn't drive on the highway and it took me longer to move. Because I couldn't see out of the mirrors. That wouldn't move.Christina R.

The trailer was hooked up by Uhaul employee. While driving on highway the pin fell out of trailer hitch almost causing a major accident. When I called u haul roadside I was told my wait time to speak to a rep would be 45 min. I was in the middle of the meridian on an extremely busy highway . very dangerous. I called the local shop and all the guy was worried about was being blamed for what happened . he repeated over and over there was nothing he could do. Told me to go to Home Depot and buy a pin. My vehicle was in the middle of a highway with no way to work on it. This was the most terrifying experience me or my family have ever experienced and u haul could care less. What we went through to get that trailer out of there was unreal and with zero help or care for me or the people behind us that could have been hurt by the failing u haul equipment or the incorrect installation of the equipment my u haul employees who just don't care.I will be following this up to the highest level.Chris B.
My experience with Malik, the rep at the location on Sunday morning, was good. So was the help of Brenda, the phone-rep who helped me when I returned the truck but was unable to use the app. The only problem with the truck--but it is serious--was the condition of the *headlights*. They were very dim and misaligned (pointing downwards right in front of the truck). This made driving dangerous in the dark.Alan K.

Apparently I was charged for fuel. When I in fact replaced the fuel that was consumed during usage of the vehicle. When I explained this to the representative. She asked me if I took a picture prior to using the vehicle. Seriously?! A company as big as uhaul is unable to maintain accurate records?? Very disappointing. Truck had less than quarter tank of gas, brought it back where the needle exactly was, associate wanted to charge me more money for brining truck back with less than I left with which was not true, he asked if I took a picture of gauge before leaving, I said no and told me it's my fault because I don't have proof, so I key with truck to add more gas yet again, I drive 17,5 totally during the rental and put over 5 gallons of gas in truck, don't make any sense, very unprofessional and poor customer serviceJoe M.

Only problem with rental experience was the car tow dolly, the design is horrible, where the front tires of the car you were towing set onto the dolly, that portion should not be allowed to swivel, but in the design it swivels. Making backing up next to impossibleâ€¦..mark L.

I first called the Coram location to inquire about a storage unit and had the pleasure of speaking with Arron, the location manager. We spoke briefly over the phone and I figured it would be easier to go down and speak to him in person since I work riguht up the road and had a lot of questions. From start to finish, Arron was so friendly and helpful. We discussed my upcoming move and what would be best for me and my current situation, and I left there feeling confident that my personal belongings were in good care. Thank you, Arron! My account was not closed out the day I moved all my storage . My credit card was charged a extra month. It eventually was taken care of after I called U-Haul but the fact that it was left opened and I was charged a extra month made the difference of a 5 star rating and a 4 star rating. By far the most unprofessional experience I've had with a business to date because of the poor customer service your employee Eric Austin & Scott have provided. Eric Austin threatened and challenged me plenty of times to a fight in which I would not of been scared one bit of this little guy but I was in the process of moving furniture into storage with my family. This guy was acting as if we were on the street and even told me let's walk down the block off camera and handle it. I am 33 yrs old with 2 children & I can't believe I had to deal with this poor customer service from your company. Had I not been with my nephew and family things probably would've went a different route to teach him a lesson but I'm glad I kept cool and got my storage and got out of there. The topping on the cake as I was moving all of my storage into unit another customer comes around the corner in the biggest box truck you have and tried to cut the corner to short and smashed and swiped the whole front of my uhaul truck that was totally off with no key in it in park. This was the worst experience I've had recently with a business and most of it was due to poor customer service, one of the main things that draws attention to your company you guys shouldn't be pushing customers away based on your staffs attitude. I know Aaron personally from past business and he would've never gave me this type of customer service. The online check in process seemed easy but I arrived to the unit after closing. It took a while to figure out how to get into the building as I was trying to access the slide doors when Afterhours the manual entry door is the only point of access. It would have been nice to know that. Also, once I got in there was a locked padlock on my door so I couldn't get into the unit anyway. That was very poor. When I tried explaining that to the rep the next morning he wasn't understanding what I was saying even though there is no clearer way to say there was a locked padlock on my storage unit and I couldn't get in. I know in business: payroll is your only controllable expense , trying to figure out your busy times could be a challenge! I'm saying that , there are some days when the facility is short staffed and the wait in the office is a little long. Still my overall experience was great. Been a client for many years there was water damage in unit that I was never notified of so I lost a few things , thanks , when I closed out I asked if there was a partial refund for the month and was told I was already out of the system and the person who closed me out said they didn't know . These guys were top-notch, hands down. Aaron helped me out in the morning after the app screwed up my reservation (corporate needs to look into that, cmon guys). You could tell Aaron knew the place inside and out. He was super nice, quick and got me in and out with the truck I needed and had an awesome attitude the whole time. Then the gentleman at night of whom I worked with to get a larger storage space and turn my truck in could not have been more pleasant or helpful. I wish folks I dealt with at my workplace were this good at what they did. I'll use the Coram office anytime I move my stuff in the future, and will recommend to friends and family.
