Lock the back of your trucks. There were remnants of someone sleeping in the back of the truck I rented. He used all the blankets. There was beer and smelled like cigars and urine.

I had an appointment for 6:00pm to pick-up a trailer. I arrived 5:15pm and there was a customer already waiting for service. Not sure how long he had been waiting. stood there 15-20 min no employees there at counter or in yard. I called the phone # and a recording answered it stated " you are next in line could be up to a 15 min wait" I hung up phone. a couple more customers came in and saw myself and the other customer waiting and left after 5-7 min. After another 10 min a guy (I think the store manager) came in and asked "who's next" in a rude tone. The customer in front of me let me go nex since I had an reservation (very nice of him). The guy asked me what i needed, I stated I had an reservation to pick up trailer. He had trouble finding my reservation. he found it and stated I hope I have one of these trailers left. Puzzled as i was I had a reservation for a specific trailer. It should be reserved????? Afte that he found the trailer and we proceeded to hook to my truck. point is there was no one at counter for almost 30 min with customers waiting. I have rented from U-Haul quite a few lately and will continue to do so. But will not rent from this location. The guy was rude and impolite. I work in a retail business and even if you are having a bad day you cannot let the customer see it.

Cancelling was more complicated than I should have been. The storage area was clean but NOT well maintained. Upstairs lockers have oversized steps to get to them and no lift access.

The person who check me in , i asked him to pull the truck up for me and he did not listen.. I was parked in a handicap spot for a reason , I didn't appreciate that all the times i have been with u haul they never just point to me where the truck was. especially if I asked ...

We pulled up to return equipment. We waited for awhile. I called the number asking for someone to come out. The lady on the phone said as long as we were parked in the right spot someone would come out. We waited a little longer before my husband walked inside and saw to associates just sitting down casually talking to one another. Once he asked if someone was going to come help us one of the team members got up. Totally unprofessional.

I had a reservation for a climate control 10x15 at the SPID location however after packing my entire house in Houston and driving 4 hours I am told at the SPID location that they don’t have any available. They referred me to their Port location so after arriving there we are given 2 storage options neither are climate controlled which is specifically what I needed. The 2 options included one that still had a mattress and other miscellaneous stuff from the previous tenant or one with Big holes in the walls and grease and dirt all over the floor. So all of mine and my families possessions are now stored in a 10x15 non climate controlled storage rooms with holes in the wall which can be accessed by the room next door but at that point I don’t have an option because they tell me I still have to get the truck back to SPID by 3pm and I was out of time. I appreciate being left stranded with no where to put my stuff because y’all messed up the reservation and the extreme lack of caring from your staff. I spent over $500 renting a truck from Uhaul which I have done several times in the past but this will be the last time I ever use U-Haul for truck or storage and I am going to make sure I tell every family member and friend exactly how my experience went And show them the pictures I took of my storage unit so they know what to expect if they ever have the need for storage or truck rental. Thank you for the worst experience possible.

The young man that helped get the trailer hooked up was awesome. It was during the time when a tropical storm was coming in and the rain just wasn't giving us a break, but he was very up beat and happy to do his job no matter how drenched he was getting. A very positive young man, greeted us with a smile and sent us on our way with the same smile. You are very lucky to have him on your team.

We informed them that we might be a few minutes late due to a traffic incident and were told it shouldn't be a problem . We were charged 30 dollars for 15 minutes. Definitely not understanding of unpreventable delays.

When I arrived to pick up my trailer I was told I would have to go across town to another store even though I had a reservation. No one called the night before as was indicated would happen, so it was an inconvenience. At the pick up it would have been nice to be shown how to operate the tie downs, but the worker told me to look it up on YouTube

The charges changed from what was quoted on the phone so maybe be up front with the total charges before picking the vehicle up rather than getting charges after you drop it off. The advertisement on the trucks $19.99 is bogus as well. I had the truck for about 45 minutes and paid twice as much from the original quote

Uhaul provided friendly and helpful customer service on both ends of my move. I was concerned about the limited number of tie-downs in the Uboxes, but packed them as suggested and had damage or breakage in my 1200 mile move.

I was never told that the pick up location was changed. Then was told the wrong location for the truck while I went to the first location. I was able to finally rent the truck after traveling to the third location.

Act like you care what happened at other locations. Don't act like you are some standalone Uhaul island and are not connected with Uhaul and all its locations. I was told they could not print out a receipt showing what the total charges to my credit card were... and instead was given a useless receipt that shows the rental cost and charge are $0.00... Pretty sure I did not get this free and got taken for somewhere around $210. Also, I attempted to rent a storage trailer from this location on June 17 and it did not work out. They charged my credit card $62.47 and only credited me $59.47 and when I called no one could tell me why they/you kept the $3. I was told a mgr. would call me and of course none did. What a company! I also am not a huge fan of every location saying, "Taking it up with that location" when anything goes wrong with Uhaul.

Issue with trying to reserve on-line. I had to call and speak to a live person to accomplish the reservation. Also, when dropped back off after hours, the QR Reader on the door didn't work. Finally called and was directed to uhaul.com/share which is a dumb name to turn in the trailer. I had so much trouble with the on-line reservation, if I had had another option to rent from, I would have.

Trailer was not hooked up to my truck. I'm certainly capable, but I'm accustomed to uhaul employees making sure lights are working etc. I was receiving phone calls asking if I was going to return trailer on time LESS THAN 24 hours into my 48 hour rental. The only reason I used this location is my normal location did not have a trailer. This is the 2nd time I've used this location, both have been sub par. Unfortunately I have to use this location again this coming week.

I was running an hour and half late bringing back truck. So representative tells me the system automatically charged me for another day. So I stated that I want to use the truck for another day then, if I'm being charged for another day. He tells me that I already gave him the keys so no I can't have it back. I asked him to get a manager. He tells me he can not get anyone. I tell him I'm not leaving till he does....after consistently asking for manager guy finally calls manager and manager says for him to give me the keys back. So I kept the truck. When I go to return truck....it is the same guy from yesterday that said the total was $98. I drove even more miles when I returned today and same guy says it's $89 for my total...and then asks if I want to use the same card on file to pay for today's portion. Interesting....cuz he just told me the day before that I had to pay $98 because the system "automatically" charged me for another day! Wow I have used uhaul's for probably longer than that guy has been around and have never had a problem. He obviously has NO CLUE what he was doing. Please make sure you staff at uhaul are giving the proper information to customers...lying to customers doesn't look to good!

100% my fault for not checking, but realized 3 miles away that the fuel on my paperwork was marked full but was only 1/2 tank. Also there wasn't a utility dolly in the truck which was requested. Very unsatisfied with this location and would never return. Also speedometer in truck didn't work.

I was moving during a hurricane and the most difficult part of the whole experience was dealing with Jeremiah at this U-Haul location. To begin with, he was dismissive of me and my questions when checking-out my reservation. This is not a big deal; I used to be in the service industry, those days are long, it's whatever he doesn't owe me anything more than help checking out. It wasn't an issue until I realized he was just doing it to me. He treated the other customers, all men, with kindness and respect. When he finished getting the truck and announced "You're all set" I had to clarify he was speaking to me because he wouldn't even look me in the eye. Again, this is annoying but whatever. It wasn't until I got home that I ran into bigger issues! There was a padlock on the back door to the truck so I couldn't load my items. I immediately called U-Hual and corporate transferred my call to this location because they didn't know why a padlock would be on a truck! I was then put on hold for 40 minutes (!!!) until someone picked up the phone to hang up on me! I had to drive across town for the second time and again had to speak to Jeremiah. He was even more dismissive and attempted to quell my issues without listening to me. I was getting more and more irritated and eventually our tension caught the attention of another employee who explained that homeless people had been sleeping in the truck so they locked it up for the night. Jeremiah should have unlocked the truck before giving it to me but he didn't. Yet for some reason, he wants to address me as if I created problems for him! We ended up having to use our own tools to cut the lock and finally be able to move the furniture inside. This whole ordeal added more time and stress to the moving process. I was moving during an incoming hurricane and global pandemic and this experience was the worst part of it all.

Overall experience with Uhaul was very disappointing. Lack of communication to get our belongings shipped on time, lack of employees knowledge about the Ubox system. It was very difficult to get ahold of someone and have trust in any person we spoke with. We were multiple times “guaranteed” things that did not happen.

I was supposed to pick up at a location only 3 miles from my house where we were moving furniture. But, they did not have all the equipment. I had to drive about 17 miles further to get the 20' truck, the furniture dolly and the pads. It worked out, but I had to make several phone calls to make it happen.

Worse moving experience ever! Original location didn't have enough moving pads.. stated “we are low and so sorry”. UBox was scheduled to be shipped and delivered on June 11th and after multiple trips to Uhaul locations in Corpus Christi And hours of hold times for phone contact, uBox was MIA for approximately a week!! Port location did not check in the UBox on arrival and when I showed up in person, I was told by the assistant manager that it was “too late on a Friday to go in the warehouse to look for it, would have to wait until Monday.” In the mean time, I incurred additional charges for extending my temporary Furnished living quarters. Displaced and worried sick about my entire home belongings. Fast forward two weeks of extra cost (min stay) in temporary living quarters, I call the Port location to schedule my UBox pickup, 24 hours in advance, as instructed to do, and location AGAIN did not answer which sent me to the 1800 uhaul representative. She kindly scheduled my pickup for Sunday On Saturday's phone call. Movers were hired and paid. On Sunday, I arranged for a personal pickup of the UBox And upon arrival to the U-Haul Port location, it was not ready to be picked up. I was told within the store that it was missed and that the notification was present and forklift driver must have overlooked it. I called the 800 uhaul number and after 75 minutes on mostly hold time, I was then transferred to the General Manager Jeremiah's cell phone.. stating “uhaul 1800 people don't know what they are doing and they mess things up all the time, with it being the weekend, I don't have the time to go sift through the warehouse to find your Box and pull it out. It'll have to be tomorrow, Monday” we can offer you a 50 dollar uhaul specific gift card” Monday uhaul box was picked up, new last minute movers were hired at an higher rate to be able to move into an empty home. With the additional charges incurred by negligence and laziness of the Port location from arrival to pickup, this UBox cost more than professional movers packing and delivering and unpacking my belongings. This is by far the worst customer service I've ever had to encounter,

When I came back to retrieve all my belongings out of my inside climate controlled unit the floor and most of my belongings were covered in rat poop. Was told by two different managers that there is nothing they can do because I didn’t purchase the extra coverage for the unit. I understood in the event of a fire, burglary, flood or something like that my stuff would not be covered. But I didn’t think that included basic housekeeping and pest control. Unbelievable, will never use again.
