The inside of the truck smelled like cigarettes it was clean but it stunk so bad I had to drive with the windows open to breathe and I requested the dolly but there was no dolly in the truck and I had to call customer service and they couldn't help with the dolly issue the location really needs to make sure there's a dolly in the trucks when someone requests itShannon T.

I had reservation to pickup at 9:00, got there at 8:50 line was back to the door, finally pulled out of lot at 9:50 with trailer. The guy working at the counter was also doing hook ups and everything else. He was doing the best he could but he needed some help.Roy N.
I have used U-Haul multiple times for moving and always had a great experience in the past, but this time was the worst and that made question ever using U-Haul services again. The truck had some kind of suspension problem and would bounce excessively on the road, the truck was not driving faster than 65 mph and that lengthened the duration of my trip, AC was not working in ARIZONA, and the car did not have the amount of fuel I was told it had.Alexandre M.

I tried to get a truck at the location early prior to opening and that didn't work out. I reserved an 11PM Friday pick up but tried to get the vehicle 6 hours later at 5AM on Saturday morning but wasn't able to use the app to get the lock box code. I was not informed that if I wasn't there at the specific time (11PM) that I would not be able to get the lock box open and get the keys etc. I called customer support and they weren't able to get a code for me and I waited from 5AM to 7AM opening time to get the truck this was very frustrating as I was traveling to California and back which meant facing traffic. I wish that I would have been informed about the time-out of the 24/7 lock boxes for key pickup. I did receive $50 from U-Haul support for the mix up but I lost a lot of time.William S.

I was called 2 days before the move and told that I had to pick up my truck 150 miles away. I said that wouldn't work and asked to speak with a supervisor. I was told I would have to wait 3 days to speak with a supervisor. I didn't hear from a supervisor now and it's been over a week. Also, my movinghelp order was a complete disaster. Your guys overbooked themselves and called me ONE HOUR before they were supposed to be there and said that they had just arrived at their client before me for a 4 hour move. THey also said they were over an hour away from me, so they would be showing up 3 hours after they were supposed to be there. I ended up having to pack the entire truck myself, and it was a 15' truck instead of a 20' truck. I will never in my life use uhaul again.Galen N.

This was one of the worst experiences I have ever endured regarding a move. One of your schedulers called me on the day of my pick up hours at 4P hours after i was supposed to have a truck and scheduled movers (that had to be rescheduled due to what can only be described as uhauls rampant incompetence) and ended up actually yelling at me and for some crazy reason blaming me for the fact that i could not get the proper truck. She called me from 9285152395 was an absolute pill and claimed to be a manager.Shawn D.

They lied on the milage paper work!! I took a whole video of the milage before I left .. they charged my card more than agreed .. The truck was filthy .. I had to clean it and wipe it down myself.. the tires were going flat and the ingine was stalling out.. horrible place to rent from.. The young man that helped me was awesome! The location I went to originally told me my equip was not at his location it was at this one. i told him my ride had already left and he said oh, it's just a short walk to this other location. Meanwhile I was to meet workers to load this truck. I was paying them 100 an hour. So with no help from first location, I set out to walk to this other location. I am 65 years old and in good health. This was not a "short walk". I'd like to know when this man last walked it.Lila H.
The wiring on the trailer we rented was all messed up. The guy just blamed the lights not working on our truck. He still let us leave with a faulty wired trailer. We had to fix the wiring before we drove with the trailer. I feel we should be refunded for our inconvenience.Jared C.

On February 25 I contacted a U-Haul representative to place a reservation over the phone for a 10 foot truck. I had previously rented a storage unit with Public Storage who was offering a promotion which would've cost me $50, after I was done reserving the truck the representative told me that U-Haul had a current promotion with a month free for the storage unit rental that would be the same size as the one I had already reserved. Thinking that it was a better deal I reserved the U-Haul storage unit instead and arranged to pick up my truck on February 27 at 9 AM as I had movers with a two hour window scheduled to be at my apartment at 9:30 AM. The day of the 27th I was at the U-Haul office at 9 AM on the dot and did a rapid pre-check in online to cut down on time and to make it a faster process as my movers were on a tight schedule. When I got there there were several people in line, a few who seemed to be having some issues with their reservations make their transactions lengthy and there was one person working the counter. When it was finally my turn I paid for my truck (all the information I had previously provided seemed to have to be put in again which confused me) and I was alerted that I had a $118 balance for the storage unit. When I asked the employee at the counter about the free promotion he advised that there was no such promotion and I was the second person who had mentioned this and he wasn't aware why this was being offered to people over the phone. So I ended up paying an unexpected $118 when I could've went with my original storage unit which was only $50 â€" not a pleasant surprise. I also didn't get finished at the counter until close to 945 and my movers were at my apartment waiting for me and it took an additional 10 minutes for me to reach home which meant that I lost a valuable 30 minute window with my movers and had to end up paying them for the extra time to move and unload my things. All of this being considered this was not a pleasant experience and between the extra unexpected cost for the storage unit and the extra money I had to give my movers I ended up paying much more than I should have and was originally told. I had budgeted everything perfectly for this move between the truck, the storage unit, and the movers so while it may not seem like a big deal to pay the extra expense it definitely was.Ava B.
