The hole experience was really bad the two wheel dolly was not connected correctly so along the way I was in an accident. The trailer came unhooked while driving and caused a wreck on the expressway. My car was damaged and I had to go to the hospital

MOISES BIf moving is a pain, U-Haul can make some of it go away. Professional services. They kept up all the appointments, dates and the package was delivered safely. I don't want to move again, but if I do, U-Haul would me my ONLY choice.

SUZETTE JI wud recommend for convenience, not so much customer service and communication that needs to improve greatly at this location. The young lady who was helping me conclude my truck rental walked away with someone else without an explanation and left me waiting a while, I'm disabled. I went over to employee Mark. He stopped cleaning the truck to help me I greatly appreciated that. I'm a repeat customer of rental and storage in good standing. And I am disabled so Customer service and communication is important. She forgot about me, it was obvious when I saw her again... I had to find another employee to help me so Thank you to Mr. Mark for your kind assistance. I appreciate you stopping what u were doing to help me.

Jason wI was originally scheduled to pick up truck & trailer in Mount Prospect, Il 60056 as I live in Mt Prospect. Got confirmation email and then the day before my pickup they switched to this location in Bellwood which is 45 min from my house. Was told thru would add extra miles to my account. That never happened. Very frustrating and a waste of my time.
JOSEPH PThis letter is to let you know you have 2 outstanding humans working at your 25th Avenue location. This past Sunday my husband and I picked up a tailer from the U-Haul location at 950 25th Ave in IL. Upon arrival at the U-Haul location the gentleman that greeted us (Antonio) was full of happiness and helpfulness. Pick up was easy and we were on our way. As we left the lot I mentioned to my husband that I thought the young man was simply charming. And that it was so refreshing! My husband responded with "And he knows what he is doing too!" Upon returning to the U-Haul location on 25th Ave. (after a long day helping our daughter move) we were once again greeted by the helpful smiling face of Antonio. We stopped to have him tell us where we should leave the trailer, he gave us the instructions and then… our car died! Yep, right there in the middle of the parking lot! The car was not going anywhere! From that point on both Antonio and Keith were nothing but helpful and upbeat about assisting us with whatever we needed to get our car working again, or towed or even to leave it there overnight if needed. In the end AAA came and towed us to our dealership so all was resolved. I would like to close with how genuinely happy these two young men made us. They went above and beyond from the minute we entered the lot in the morning to the minute we left in the evening. U-Haul is lucky to have them. Julia E.

BARRY EI was taught, if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all. However, I will say the ONLY thing that went smoothly was: 1) making the initial reservation 2) the packers and unpackers on both sides (not Uhaul employees) The boxes arrived 2 days late, although I just made the reservations 10 days prior and paid the deposit I did not reply to an email sent the day before asking me if I still wanted the boxes… OF COURSE I still want the boxes I just made the reservation 10 days ago!!! (Because of this,I had to change my flight reservation to my new home which cost me $$$) THEN when the packers arrived we opened the boxes to discover NO pads were included …I called Uhaul to ask if someone could bring the pads over and was told no one was available …SO I had to drive over to pick up the pads to find two employees sitting there looking at their phones. ( in order to keep the packers at our home longer then they expected we paid them more$$$) THEN the shipment arrived at our new home 5 days late so, of course, once again, I had to change my flight reservation to get back which cost more $$$ I've worked in customer service my entire life and have never encountered such incompetence! I will say, Uhaul did reimburse me $150. for a small portion of my extra expenses.

Raynetta LOn the last day of the move, the hired mover asked for a mover code and I had to call customer service to find out. You could save a customer service call if you had just texted or emailed the code directly to me. Other than that everything was great!

TIMOTHY HHIGHEST LEVEL OF INCOMPETENCE EVER EXPERIENCED. DO NOT USE U-HAUL FOR YOUR MOVING SERVICES. Our U-boxes were delayed only because U-haul failed to load our boxes onto the truck to be shipped, which I might add that no one at U-haul was able to figure out that this happened for several days. Our boxes were supposed to arrive at the destination facility on 6/9/24 and be delivered to our house on 6/10/24. We received a call from the destination facility on 6/7/24 confirming this delivery and where to place the boxes and were told we would be contacted on 6/9/24 for a delivery window. We received no notification, no text message, and no call from U-haul and finally tried contacting them around 7pm that day. No one could tell us why they were delayed and gave us the local number to call the next morning which turned out to be the incorrect number. When we got ahold of the correct facility, we were transferred to about 5 different people---no one at U-haul was taking any responsibility or apologizing or empathizing with us in any way and still could not figure out a reason for the delay or where our boxes were. We finally got a text message at some point telling us our boxes were delayed. After another day of not hearing from U-haul, we finally decided to respond to the text message asking where our boxes were and the reason for the delay to which the agent responded they would contact the carrier--they already had 2 business days to contact the carrier and figure this out at this point. They responded they would reach out when they had more information. They did not reach out--we reached out again via text message and they did give us a reason for the delay which was that they forgot to load our boxes on the truck and they were still in the original facility. How does something like this happen?! We received them 4 days past scheduled delivery. U-haul refunds $50 per day (total, not per box, which is ridiculous since they charge you per box) that they aren't at our doorstep so we should have received a $200 refund, but only received a $150 refund. An employee named Mike with customer service told us that the $50 per day was for every day the delivery was not at our doorstep past the guaranteed delivery date at the destination facility (6/9/24). $50 per day in compensation is not enough--it should be more as you can barely buy dinner for two people with that amount of money these days. Some other poor things we experienced with this process was both forklift drivers in Illinois were very distracted talking on their cellphones via wireless earbuds and lacked skills for smooth operation of the forklift. U-haul should require their employees to be totally focused on their 10 MINUTE job they are paid to do while handling customer's property they are paying them thousands of dollars to move. The forklift driver who picked up the boxes in Alabama looked like she had never been trained on the forklift--it took her over an hour to move the empty boxes and took her several attempts to pick up and load the boxes and in turn the forklift ground up and created small potholes in the asphalt in front of our house. We have a video of this driver moving the boxes if U-haul would like to see it. One of the boxes did not come with furniture pads as was listed in the packing order with our receipt. We selected "yes" to the question asking if our goods arrived safely--so far it seems so, but we have yet to go through most of our property because our boxes were not delivered until the day before leaving on vacation. The outcome of this process for us was frustrating because there were many positive reviews for U-box that we read before booking it and felt we could trust U-haul to safely and smoothly move our property, but they failed miserably. Spend your thousands of dollars with another company.

Genella GTruck was not clean change oil soon light was on engine was low on oil. I reserved this cargo van one week prior to pick up and was told my bill with it he info. I had would be $320 dollars if I stayed to my plan. I checked with Visa and was told that if there was any accidental damages that Visa would cover hem 100 %. The morning that I was going to pick up the vehicle I was assured that everything was ready as reserved, when I went to pick up the vehicle I was told that the prior customer didn't return the vehicle. I was taken to another U-Haul store and there I was told that I was required by their manager that I had to purchase their insurance in spite of the Visa coverage. This was $30 / day extra. I feel that this was some kind of a scam as I was required to spent an extra $60 that was a last min. requirment. I was never told this when I priced out my job using the quote that U-Haul gave me when I made the reservation and on past occasions when I have rented U-Haul vehicles. If this is some new kind of policy please let me know so I can plan my up coming rentals .

I have had this unit for several years and at one point had multiple units at this location and they supplied my truck for the move to Florida. This Maywood facility is exceptional, the staff have ALWAYS been great and super helpful. The facility is always clean, the lights all work great and even the restrooms were always clean and well stocked. I have recommended this facility to several people and would continue to do so. But when I got there that room was occupied with another person's lock. And the room next door to it 1332 was available with a new green moving tag on it. So there was just a little confusion on my move-in day. I had to wait till the next day to get everything rectified. And the process to change units was painless. The staff was very helpful.

Also the prices were posted in large print and there were no unexpected surprises with price changes as I have experienced at other storage companies. I will definitely be a repeat customer.
