Charged 2 day rental for 9 1/2 hours same day rental, this is a rip off if you go online and puts the time in it is a one day rental rate. Avoid this location.Derek W.

Wilmington traffic office scheduled 3 deliveries and not only didn't delivery. But didn't even call saying they weren't coming. Called dozens of times was always told the same thing. They're on the way, but never were.Samuel W.

The vehicle was clean, but smelled really horrible inside. It was a mixture of cigarette smoke and an awful smelled mixed together. For my allergies, this was unacceptable. I had to clean the vehicle inside and add some new car fragrance with carpet fresh once I got it to my residence. This helped a bit along with having the windows down during my travels. Unacceptable. On the other, the ladies on staff the day I picked up the vehicle, all of them made my visit a pleasant one. They were all fun to have met and to have a conversation with during the morning. Cleanliness of vehicle was not due to any error on the location of the rental. The vehicle was dropped off at wrong destination and rented by me. I received several phone calls inquiring when I was returning it from the other location which was irritating but understandable in planning to get the vehicle back to their location. Kudos to Mia at the Gillespie St location for her assistance in renting and explaining the usage of the additional equipment (trailer).timothy H.
The only part that worked as it should was the refunding of the unit after I went to another storage place. The reservations where made a week in advance- however they got messed up. Truck wasnt booked for Friday as requested rather saturday… which requested in several calls To get things corrected and ended up getting a 26 foot truck instead of the 20 requested which for the record horrible gas milage…unit was supposed to be reserved for Saturday but i stead was charge and "moved into" immediately. I pulled things together but overall horrible experience. The cashier and manger where very pleasant when refunding the unit- but considering the circumstances some monetary adjustments would have been appropriate as the reservations for the entire move had been made there and everything was wrong. My rental was scheduled for 7:00am and I was on a tight schedule. The front counter staff didn't arrive until 10 after and then it took them about another 20 minutes to open and finally check me out. Luckily I was able to meet my timeline, but it was close.John G.

Calling me 30mins before I'm picking up my truck to tell me it won't be available for another 4,5hr due to the other renter and not having much of a solution isn't helpful. Telling someone will call me back who never did isn't helpful. Me finding out a truck is available and doing all the work getting it, again, isn't helpful when my main focus is moving THAT DAY. Having next to no supplies isn't helpful. Hopefully I won't need to use U-Haul again.Loren F.

Can't beli5hoe your pay about $900 for a one way from one state to another (North Carolina to Florida) as they cap your mileage to a certain number giving you very little mileage to go over. It's 687 miles to Florida buy once you arrive e not sure of your destination meaning where to find a place for rental. Uhaul does not calculate things like that but quickly here in Florida to nickel and dime for mileage that really unnecessary when they ingredients to locate a place with the uhaul. It's just not good business. Them you only have one car so you return the uhaul in the evening but to only get another charge because y I u did go on some app to check it in. So doing all this not to be late and not inquire a fee but still got a check in fee to. My next rental will be peneske whe fee they do not charge mileage fee.)candance J.
You really need to be upfront about the true cost of equipment rental. The 19,95 price on the side of the moving van ended being over 80 dollars for 1 day in town rental. I was surprised to see that the price can get so high for just 1 day.Jerry J.
The customer service is terrible. I have been here multiple times and the service is not friendly. It always seems as if it's a bother to them to assist me. I never know which associate to go to when checking out and have to wait a few awkward minutes until i just walk up and stand in front of someone. It's just not a pleasant experience. The initial UBox delivery was awesome a call was made telling me when they would be there and they were on time and very helpful. The issue I had was in Fayetteville when trying to get my box delivered. I scheduled it for July 21st, I called the morning of the 20th because I received an email saying I had to agree to terms and the website was not allowing me to do so. The lady on phone told me me it was fine and she also told me I would be getting a call later with the time that the box would be delivered. I waited till about 6 pm and didn't receive a call. I called and was told they don't give times out due to complaint I asked would it be in the morning or afternoon so I could arrange to pick up the people that would be helping me, she said she couldn't give me an answer. I then emailed services@uhaul explaining these issues and 10 minutes later received a call saying they had to move my delivery to Saturday. I was on the phone with them multiple times that day and that was never mentioned and as soon I made a complaint my date was pushed further out. This to me feels like it was done in retaliation for my email.george T.

Every time we tried to call them, their number gets routed to the main U-Haul hotline. I had to go in person to get my questions answered. It also turns out that they set the auto-forward themselves.I get it, you're busy. But it doesn't excuse you from at least providing the courtesy of answering and placing someone on hold. Or dedicate one individual to just answering phone calls. They also had zero trained in assisting us in loading our car in the car dolly. Might be because U-Haul is trying to avoid legal ramifications for loading. But at least they can watch and observe to ensure everything was strapped down correctly. One of the ratchet straps that went around the front right tire came loose in transit. The entire U-Haul reservation system is broken in general. If you want an absurd amount of stress before you move, go right ahead and book U-Haul. There is no way for them to guarantee a pick-up location up until the point where the previous users returns the truck. If the users extend a day or decide to drop it off somewhere else, you're out of luck! Have fun driving across town or up to an hour and a half away just to pick up the truck. NEVER U-HAUL AGAIN!Fergus C.

I went to get my 26' truck and of course they did not have it for me because the customer did not return it yet. so instead we got a bad 20' truck that the transmission barley worked. Half the time the truck did not start, the wheel pulled to the left. Make sure when the customer comes to get the truck they ain't on E because that's where it was when I got the truck so I took a pic and went back in side to see why I had to make sure I put back the gas in the truck.When I got it I went straight to the gas pump and put 70$ of gas in that truck of my money and when I returned it had gas in it.they said that 40$ will come off of my bill but I ain't seen that because my bill was 114 when I ordered then the bill from my return was like 124 I don't understand that so where was the credit that was givenAnya O.

I paid money thinking my RV was secure because of the high fence surrounding the lot, the security cameras, and access only by key fob. Imagine my shock when I cranked up my RV and it sounded like a jet plane reviving its engines. Yes, my catalytic converter had been stolen. When I went to the office, no one seemed to know anything, including if this had happened to other customers, if the security cameras were reviewed and monitored, or if a security person ever checked the lot. My $1500 theft was met with blank stares and indifference. As I was standing there, I observed the camera monitor appeared scrambled - my first clue that security was a low priority. Then I walked to the back fence. It is heavily overgrown, making it easy for someone to enter and exit completely obscured from the cameras. The final nail in the coffin was the actual service technician who stated that "8 to 10 catalytic converters have been stolen from that very lot in the last several months." One guy had his RV repaired, returned it to the lot, and two weeks later was hit again. Really? And there has been no change in security protocols? Surely even a company in business to make a profit cannot find this an acceptable business model. A night watchman would not be out of the question. I have to wonder how many RVs sitting there don't even know yet that they have been vandalized. As for me, I'll take my chances with my RV sitting under a tree in my yard.Danny L. | Expérience générale

I was upset that the location for pickup was changed on me without any change in the number of miles allowed. I specifically chose the pickup location because it was a mile from the house I was moving out from. My experience with this rental was terrible! I made my reservation in April for a June move and i had to go to 3 separate sites on my pickup day to actually get my truck. Each site, although confirmed and scheduled through Uhaul did not have a truck available. At one site i actually had the agent try to give me a 15 foot truck in lieu of the needed/reserved 26 foot truck. This put my moving schedule a full day behind and required me to extend an additional day. For drop off my uhaul agent said they would not assign me a location until i got to my one-way location so we could find the closest one (at my request). But they actually assigned me one anyway that was 45 min away which required me to sit on the phone with uhaul for 53 minutes to get changed. Today i got my final receipt and it appears that i was charged for an additional day. I had called to extend one day and turn in on the 17th instead of the 16th (one day) but my receipt clearly charged me an additional 2 days, one of which was already charged when i reserved the truck. The added day was necessary due to the puck up being delayed 6 hours because i had to go to 3 separate uhaul truck rental sites. uhaul owes me $$ for one day that i was overcharged. This was my worst rental experience ever. Future needs will likely be filled bySCOTT W.

Issue came when moving out. I rented a truck from this location so I can load my unit and go. Drove from the apartment to the uhaul store to be told they moved my reservation to another location. Makes no scense I had to pay by the mile and had to go elsewhere for my truck. That not being the worst, when I drove to the new location the stated no trucks were available. Really waisting more time because of someone's inabilities. Than had to call the first place to yet again be sent further away to another uhaul which now put more time and miles on my car just to have to drive a uhaul back to my original spot 5 miles from my house and ad cost to my rental This added at minimum and extra 60 miles to my total as the original location was five miles from my house and the new once was around 17 Long story short waisted half and day and 100 between gas miles and personal cars gas getting the run around When discussing this to the location I got the oh well attitude. It's been since 12/24 and I've still yet to be a able to pick up my rental truck or get to my storage unit!!!! I and my friend stayed bk n forth at uhaul dealer location for 36 hrs + off n on trying to get online check in process final so I can get my kids xmas gifts and my belongings bk to my family in whiteville NC and so thnx to poor communication I missed Xmas with my 5 year old grandchild n family..I pd $216 .00 for a truck that's still sitting at Larry's in williamnston NEVER able to access the vehicle online process...I want my money back or my truck delivered to me or I'll be contacting my lawyer tomorrow morningPatsy C. | Online Move In
This place I do believe had people residing in the units. I've seen and heard on several occasions of me being there talking on the other side of my unit but when I drive around no doors are open nor cars visible near the talking and people that have an access card walk in and out the gate straight to the road. Excellent service and attention; Mrs. Easely was very professional and answered all my questions, showed me the facility, which helped me to reach my decision. All representatives followed COVID procedures and made me and other patrons feel comfortable in the area. The only flaw was that this particular location does not offer a military discount, but Mrs. Easely explained to me the company policy, which should be revised, Fayetteville is military all over. Everything was fine except the cost it's too high in my opinion I found another unit somewhere else that is twice the size and cost less much less than what I was paying at uhaul so if I was to rate my experience from 1 to 10 ten being awesome I would rate it a 5 because cost matters a lot if you on a fixed income and I only get SSI I struggled every month to pay my storage fee so I will not use or recommend uhaul to my friends and familyDonna C. | Expérience générale

I rented a truck for our move which they informed me a qualified me for a month of free storage so I went ahead and opted for that decision $100 later I realized I never received a Free month so when contacting the facility it took me speaking to a higher up manager because the staff there that excepted my payment informed me there was nothing they can do now after speaking with the manager she said she would credit me the following month being August when I was settled in around 20 August I realized I had charges of $165 on my account now mind you I had already paid the first months rent upon getting keys for the facility it took me three days just to get in touch with somebody who had professionalism every time I called I received no greeting or was immediately thrown on hold I even waited 35 minutes on hold just to be rudely hung up on when I finally got a callback was when I received an email stating I was behind on charges and I replied saying until I spoke with somebody I was not going to make any payments finally a manager reached out to me and did her job if the customer service and lack of professionalism wasn’t enough we only had our things in storage for less than two months and brought an ant problem into our home thanks to it no matter where you are around the entire facility there is no pest control there are bugs and spiders everywhere we’ve had storage units in the past so I’m familiar with the pest control precautions that clearly this facility does not take into consideration I would not recommend this facility Being placed in Fayetteville is not an excuse to have Tacky unprofessional demeanor.Oaklie R. | Expérience générale

The only reason we are leaving is because we have a waterfront home with a new shelter for our trailer and boat. The U-Haul facility was awesome. We moved to Clayton NC and left our RV s there. Initially (in 2017), I reserved a smaller A/C unit 6 weeks in advance. I even called a week prior to assure that everything was on track, which it was. The morning I was to take possession of the unit, I was informed that a man from Alaska came in and needed a unit ASAP. They gave him my unit. I was furious! They gave me a larger unit that was not air conditioned and was $40 more expensive per month. They gave me a small discount that month as a consolation. I was clearly dissatisfied. The manager did not care. Since then, my monthly rent has increased several times. I donated most contents just to get rid of this unit. The only issue I had was the rates were raised after a year. There were no added benefits, or changes to the site, it appears (at the surface) to just be a grab for more money. A 10 % increase shouldn't happen within a year. This is just my opinion though.David S. | Expérience générale

The storage place in North Carolina was excellent but the one in Savannah Georgia was horrible they had me going to four different locations I was supposed to drop off the car there I was supposed to drop my fridge off there when I got there no one had no reservations for me at all finally I thought the address they gave me at first and went to gillspie and they waited on me and help me solve my situation cuz I was wasting gas and running all over Fayetteville spending money that I did not have. There were three people involved with getting me in the unit. Tinessa, Vernon, and some other guy seemed like a new employee, who apparently was off work after checking me into the unit. First, I was told that my contract was not correct for a one-way (one month free) rental of a 10x10 storage unit, so I paid for the 10x10 unit and then called the person who issued the contract to have it corrected. Then, I was told it would not qualify even if it was corrected to a one way by both Vernon and Tinessa because the distance has to be more than 100 miles from where I was moving, but then that changed to 50 miles a few minutes later, and that the distance was between store locations and not moving locations, not at all what I thought the original contract was for. After several minutes of trying to fix the issue, I was then informed by Tinessa that once the unit was rented out that I couldn't be refunded. I hadn't even put anything in the unit yet!! Honestly, if I'd know that half my day was going to be wasted arguing over one month of free rent on a storage unit, I would have just rented a larger one somewhere else for what I paid here. I will be needing another U-haul in the near future, but I will not be revisiting this location again.SHAWN T. | Premières impressions
