LATIMA G.The uhaul was returned with half of a tank of gas..I put $100 in it for gas when picking it up from there and had it at full once I picked it up at a fourth of a tank.saying I returned it with less than a fourth is not true. The uhaul left me on the side of the road for an hour bc it didn't have coolant and I had to use my own to get it where it would stop overheating bc roadside hadn't even answered at their 1800 number after an hour of being on hold. The truck sounded horrible also. Customer service however was pretty great at pickup and return. All around..wouldn't use again.

I should have been advised that there was none available and I would have stayed in the hotel until I got what I ordered. The person working that day was rude and obnoxious!

Tammie F.The girl at the front desk was more concerned about why she didn't get the right change from her lunch order then helping me (when I already pre-registered) and just needed the keys to leave...they didn't walk to the vehicle to verify its condition or anything. When I got in the truck, there was a bunch of trash, a huge window cling that I had to remove to see out of the windshield, the driver visor was broken and fell every bump you hit, right into your line of sight. Best of all every warning light you can think of was on...air bag, tire pressure and engine light...I've NEVER had a bad experience at ANY uhaul location spanning across multiple states, this one by far takes the cake!

carolyn P.You could start by advertising that not only do you pay $30 a day, but you also charge for mileage @ 0,69 per mile and your salesman didn't bother to charge me for 120 miles up front when I told the moron we had to go 60 miles ONE way to pick up tons of wooden cabinets in Sumter! Then you ALSO expect your customer to spend their own money at $3,49 a damn gallon as well. I put $60 in gas in that damn truck & returned it with more gas than it had when I picked it up! Not to mention they WERE told at pick up that I might need it a third day, and because they were so rude & one guy whining about taking a nicotine saliva test (truck stunk of cigarettes) that the guy had to take, they didn't explain or tell us anything and didn't correctly calculate mileage or put in I may need truck 3rd day. When I called to say I needed it another day they already had reserved it and said no & that I HAD to bring back before morning. So, I had to PAY 2 people to drive to Effingham & take a house door off & put cabinets in at night and now I have to get ANOTHER rental to complete what I should have been able to do today AND pay more money. Front to back, my last time EVER renting a uhaul. Even bought overpriced ratchet straps while there for all the materials I had to go get cuz we were barely getting there in time b4 closing due to job which they also knew up front! I'm thoroughly irritated and will use ANY other company available when I move in October or if I need local moving, I'll pay the people to bring it. Your people were rude, inattentive and didn't even go over the damn insurance process. I returned it CLEANER than I got it & with more gas. You're welcome. So it cost me $200 to have a local rental for 2 days and 129 miles PLUS the $60 worth of gas it took to fill the damn truck up with. Never again. What a racket!

I nearly ran off the road more than a couple of times because I had to turn the wheel every which way. Other than that everything was fine.

The lights on the floor did not come on so it made me very uncomfortable to walk towards my unit because it was dark. The alarm sounded each time you open your unit. That was unnerving because I didn't know if there was an emergency and to exit the building.The unit appeared smaller than advertised. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The online system and the store location did not have the same information. The unit I reserved was not available. A 10x10 unit was recommended which I took at the higher rate. During my move in, the storage room was barely able to hold my belongings. I wasn't able to fit everything in the storage unit and ended up having to secure other means of storage. Overall, make sure the online system is up to date. Also, the cashier did give a discount because of the inconvenience; however, the lack of space in the unit recommended by the gentlemen was insufficient.

Only to be told the unit I reserved still had merchandise from previous client. I was told by a rude African American, very unprofessional at the job that she spoke with the manager and I would have to come back after the client moved their belongings out. Of course this was not okay with me so she involved Larry which seems like he has to handle everything. Several customers waiting to be served and 3 employees, Larry being one and the only one trying to help everyone. He took me and got me a unit and I was able to move my stuff in. Thankful he was there. Oh,and I was told I got a free month for the inconvenience but they were doing that anyway for all renters....overall turned out okay.

He walked us through the building and let us see actual units that were available and allowed me to choose between those. I wanted one on ground level, however one wasn't available but he located one that was right at the top of the stairs with a large door for easier access to load and unload large pieces of furniture. He was very polite and courteous. He answered any questions that I had even prior to me asking them. After renting the unit, he walked us back over to explain to us how to use the access key and then showed me how to put the lock on the door that I was also able to purchase from him. Excellent experience if you're needing a storage unit.
