The representative didn't appear to know his job. He couldn't provide the one month free storage for free. I had to pay for the sake of time in hopes of getting reimbursed when a more knowledgeable person will become available.

This is the second time renting the storage 355 and the stool in front of it is broken I complained each time and nothing has been done about it is someone going to have to get hurt and sue ya'll to get it removed I pray not but overall this location Rock

Truck sounded like it was gonna fall apart, loud noise from front wheels, and really bad on gas mileage drove 184 miles, cost me 100$ in gas

door was locked ,no one was in the office called she finally answered( tarsha) but still stood at door for about 12 min.. After returned truck wanted to see what i owed and didn't get back with me till the next day. A couple days later( saturday)rented another van and no one called about any final charges or mileage use more or less and my card got charges $50,56 which charges if any shouldn't be as much .

We rented our truck from this location and was very pleased. However, we have complaints about the U-haul storage unit we rented on elmwood Avenue. We expected and paid for a climate controlled unit and the building temp was 78 degrees. Absolutely unacceptable because mold and mildew can grow at that temperature. I was told by your rep that I might should purchase more insurance? Really?

I signed up for pickup outside of hours. It was confirmed for 8 am at the fort Jackson location. When I got there, I was unable to pick up the truck. I called the 24 hour number. After some time, they said the local hadn't put the key in the lockbox so I had to wait until the store opened. When it did, I found out that location doesn't do after hours pick up bc they don't even have a lockbox. I'm not sure where the disconnect is, but I feel like the national U-Haul and the local store should be in sync so that after hours pickup isn't an option at a location that doesn't offer it. As I'm sure you know, Moving is stressful. It's important for things to operate on schedule. It's super inconvenient to hit a bump like this that is so avoidable.

Maintain the clean facility, friendly and professional member at the desk and having a clean serviceable vehicle. Anyone asking for more is being unreasonable. The Vehicle, Staff, and Facility were all excellent.

Online I reserved a vehicle .They had the vehicle on the lot when I arrived .They told me they were unable to rent me that van because they were sold out.They then we made me rent a bigger truck for a higher price that had no gas .I drove five miles up the road and turned around and brought it back because it was too hard to drive .Please have what you say you have available and please don't focus people to pay more for something they don't want

The Driver Door when put in Drive was still saying “Door Open.” Representative at Location stated, “Maybe the Seal was loose” but that is a Safety Issue plus I was told even though I went 3 Miles over I would have been Charged the Rate I Originally Requested.

I rent two units at this location. The staff, headed by Ms. Lawrence, have always been very professional and helpful. I recently needed to rent a 4X8 U-Haul trailer for two days. Because it was a holiday the pick up day (MLK Day), another member of Ms Lawrence staff, Nate, was handling the duties that day. Nate was completely knowledgeable about the equipment. He was thorough in making sure that the electrical system as connected to my vehicle was in working order; and provided me an understandable safe/proper driving explanation. When I returned two days later, the manager, Ms. Lawrence (whose staff has her cell phone number to call at any time) was efficient and pleasant in handling my return of the U-Haul

Although a little time consuming the attendant was in training, not sure if the gentleman was the mngr or not but he was definitely safe, detail oriented and knowledgeable. I went to do a move out and couldn't due to the one elevator being broken. It was "no big deal" to them . They didn't send out any notice and about it being out nor did they send out anything once it was repaired instead I had constantly call. They also tried to wrongly charge me $20 for gas with a Uhaul I rented …good thing I took a picture with where the gas hand was before I pulled out so I had a time stamped picture. This place is slack and unorganized . Use another storage facility and rent your Uhaul elsewhere. You've been warned

You should keep trucks in FULL. Then customers wouldn't have to estimate how many gal. to put in. Customers would like that. Also better for the engine. Trucks will last longer. Tell corporate to not be greedy.

My furniture dolly and utility dolly were not available. I had to send my mom to another location to get a utility dolly. Girl at counter was not apologetic. It seemed like she didn't care that I was inconvenienced.

Had a great overall experience! I liked the monthly reminders about payment as I would forget without them. The only negative was the cars parked along the back wall for extended periods of time made it difficult to get our truck through when we needed access to our unit. Staff was friendly and helpful and facility was clean!

The guy was very rude and would not honor my first month free rental because his manager was not there. I then went to the uhaul on sparkleberry and they helped me with no problem and no manager was needed I have my storage unit. This process is the most the difficult and they charge you a deposit when you use your debit card. I would definitely NOT recommend this location. Experience was horrible.

Although the equipment was OK the money came right out of our bank. But it's been for working business days and we have not gotten our deposit refunded back to us. That is ample time. You're very quick to take our money and to charge us if something goes wrong but you're not so quick to treat us with respect to return our deposit. I will not be recommending U-Haul. Business experience works both ways good service after the U-Haul is returned in the same condition which it was rented is imperative to do your part to refund the deposit to make it a good business transaction

I reserved a climate controlled unit almost a month in advance, but I showed up to move in and was told there were no climate controlled units available. I ended up not moving in and went to a competitor instead. Terrible experience, but the staff was nice and helpful with my refund.

She went out of her way to help my daughter and me move my mother's belongings into storage and way over and beyond her job to make the whole process so much easier. I rented the 7,5 x 10 ft. unit for almost two years! Always felt safe when accessing the facility. Having carts available to customers is a great service! Very clean and climate controlled space made such a difference! All my belongings were in great shape when I emptied the unit! No mildew or mold. Staff was friendly and always helpful! I will recommend this facility to friends and family and use UHaul again if needed! Thank You, UHaul!

Helpful, efficient and kind staff. Super clean facilities. A few broken down cars behind the last row of buildings made it difficult to access the elevator area without us blocking access with our car, but overall, an excellent experience.

I cleaned out my unit only 12 days into the month and would have expected my rent to have been prorated since I checked out having not even used it half a month. Finding out that there would be NO refund at all was very disappointing and profits your company greatly at my expense. The service was good but policy is bad!

This facility is always clean and safe. I rented my space for a long time, over 10 years I believe, with zero problems. The one thing that I wish had been considered when this facility was constructed is the access at the rear for my building (C). Vehicle access for my unit is limited to one lane because the additional space has rental spaces for vehicles. I wasn't accessing my unit frequently but it felt like every time I needed to get to it there was always a truck or car parked in the road blocking the access to the elevator. Not only was the elevator access blocked but there was no way around the parked vehicle. This was a very minor inconvenience which would not cause me to refrain from recommending this facility or from re-renting the same unit that I used for 10+ years.

My belongings was in the storage since 2013. That is a long time to have a storage unit. I originally had two 10x10 units and downsized to one. During those times I was going thru a lot and almost lost the units but God didn't allow it to happen. The prior management team under ASHLEY were a good group until they decided to break in 80 units on the back side C building. I was one of the units hit. I was very angry and wanted to move my stuff out of storage but I did not have any money to do so at the time. I was very hurt and I felt betrayed. The company got rid of Ashley and the whole group of workers that worked at the U-Haul under her leader ship. I was very happy to know that they did this. I was always afraid that they were going to try to do the same thing again. I like the new management now. The only complaint I have with them is knowing when they were in the office because often times they left a note on the door saying they were out on the premises and sometimes it was hard to reach someone. I realize the best time to come was in the morning.However overall I'm glad the U-Haul storage facility was there to help me. I rented trucks from the facility as well as have my personal belongings housed. Thank you for everything that you've done for me. If I need your services again I know where you are located. I received a 5 by 10 storage unit, 1 month free, with a 6 by 12 one way trailer. I couldn't fit everything from the trailer in the storage unit, because it was too small. The representative stated that the free unit was for the same size equipment, but how does 5 by 10 equal to 6 by 12?

Our unit was temperature controlled and the facility was clean. However, it was always a tight fit to drive our car near to the building containing our unit. In addition, we emptied our unit and cancelled our unit but we still had 2 weeks of paid rent left on our unit. We were told we could not get a rebate for those two unused weeks of storage.
