Mark KHello, I am quite frustrated with this experience. I scheduled my pickup for 7am, and arrived at 630am. However completing the pickup process was smooth, until I got the keys and noticed my truck was blocked in and had no way to get it out. I was not about to sit and wait for 2 hours and delay moving things as I had a planned schedule. I called and got transferred 4 times to random departments that were a complete waste of time. I called one and they said they noted I was unable to get out, I finally got it out after almost an hour of backing up the truck and going forward and barely clearing the 2 trucks blocking it. I spoke to the customer service rep and they noted for a compensation since this had happened. I would like that to be done. I am very disappointed with the pickup process. Gabby

ROBERT VI hate that when you reserve a UHaul trailer, you will not actually be getting your trailer at that location or returning it where you want to. It makes you feel completely taken advantage of. I'm reserving it, I should be able to count on it. This last time, the customer service person told me that even though I had to pick up in a completely out of the way location, I couldn't pick it up over the lunch break, and I couldn't be more than 30 minutes late or the reservation would go back in the system. If there was ANY other company to use other than UHaul, I would. We've had to use UHaul several times now, but I always hope I'll come up with a better option the next time. I just don't understand why you can't make reservations and stick to them.

Ended up being there for 90min to get 2 5x10 units instead of 10x10 I reserved. Was not thanked for my patience and was told instructions instead of being guided to my two units after all that time. Really hope that what I reserved can be found and transferred into

The pricing for the hitch and installation was highly competitive, and the quality of workmanship and knowledge of installation provided by Kevin was second to none. Sandra was incredibly friendly and helpful with check-in and at departure, and was also helpful in providing quotes for a potential trailer rental for the future. I would not hesitate to recommend this U-Haul location to others and will definitely consider them for my trailer or trunk rental needs in the future.

Krista DVehicle was in good working condition. Interior showed wear and ground in dirt, but not excessive. There as a spot on the floor bed of the van that looked like someone had thrown up on that spot and it was not fully cleaned. Overall, this has been a good location from which to rent and staff is polite. The changes in the U-Haul model to reduce staffing and costs are not customer friendly in my opinion. You are shifting all work to the customer and forcing customers to navigate you app. This includes entering PII and managing vehicle check-in. The bottom line is that your business model has reduced my level of satisfaction and will be an obstacle to my renting from U-Haul again.

First experience was when I returned my rental truck, it took me 2 hours to return it because the website was not working properly. Customer service agent was helpful but it took her a while to actually complete the return because she insisted in help me trouble shoot, website was not working. The second bad experience was when I set up my monthly payment and for some reason it was deleted and my payment did not go through. Lastly, when I was moving out it took me forever to load the pictures of my unit showing it cleaned and empty, I kept getting redirected to the previous page.

Woman at counter was unapologetic and totally indifferent to us offering no solutions other than, "there are stairs." We wasted time, money and gas loading a uhaul, driving to the facility and then having to drive back home and unload the truck. There was no possible way we could have moved our stuff in using the stairs. There was no way we could have moved in using the stairs. It would have been extremely exhausting and so time consuming, we would not have made it to our other destination that day. I have knee problems and could not have made all those trips carrying heavy boxes up stairs. What makes this situation worse is that I had spoken with a man at this facility the day before to reserve our unit. He was aware we were moving in the next day and made no mention of the elevator being broken. We know it was broken that day before. There were some gentlemen there attempting to move in a second time and told us the elevator was broken the day previous. What a dumb facility. Only one elevator. No communication with customers regarding state of said elevator. And sullen, indifferent staff manning the front desk. We got this unit free for a month and I don't even want it anymore. I rather pay a different company like Metro Storage.

When I inquired about the 1 mo free offer online, which was inaccessible, at the time of my reservation; the young lady simply stated that it's "only for a one way" ordered from that location. When I advised her that all of this information was not mentioned online, she simply stated "well that's not how we do it here ". Long story short, she had absolutely no empathy nor offered any suggestions when I explained that I was hoping to take advantage of the 1st month free because I don't expect to use the storage more than a couple days. Your website is very misleading. Unfortunately, I think this is the first time I've used U-Haul storage and I don't believe that you guys will be my first choice again…God forbid the need should arise. I am currently homeless and I know it's not your problem. I chose you guys for the convenience of location and to stress less; instead I get insult added to injury with false advertisement. I don't like complaining but being in customer service, myself, for years has taught me the importance of QUALITY SERVICE. Thank you so much for your time and this opportunity to express my concerns. DANIELA L | Expérience généraleI reserved a 10x15 storage unit on Tuesday 3/21, and begin use on Saturday 4/1. I hired a moving company to assist my transition. When i arrived with a truck load of my items and a team of movers, I am told there is no 10x15 available, and the best I can be accommodated is with 10x10 storage unit. But, I am not given a 10x10. I am given two 5x10s equating to a 10x10 space. But, this is inaccurate and poor selling tactic. I was foreced to remove items from what I needed to be stored and make other arrangements while I'm paying a team of movers watch and wait for me to deal with this situation. The best compensation I was offered is 1 free month of storage on the (1) 10x5 unit I only ended up using. This issue cost me an extra $350 to find another storage unit for my stuff and pay for the team of movers. I am extremely frustrated with the U-Haul storage service at this location. I trust U-Haul runs other locations more efficiently and hope I will be compensated as a paying customer.

They charge me for gas for $26 and I already restored gas in the truck to where it was when I picked it up. I was charge for extra 30 miles on a truck and I didn't even used the 30 miles I had with my contract. I know I drove 22 miles on that truck! The pick up point was 2,6 miles from my home. From my home to storage was 16,5 miles. I stopped at metro storage with is along Odgen , which was not even a mile. I don't take kindly to someone stealing from me. I felt like I got stolen from when I was charge for gas and additional 30 miles. I replaced that dam gas and I didn't even use the 30 miles that was on my contract. I WILL NEVER USE UHUAL AGAIN!!!

Moved at the pace of a sloth. We told her we wanted 2 go look at our unit. Adfitionally, asked about any problems or things left over from the online process. She sent us upstairs. No key card (which I found out later was needed 2 avoid the alarm). I asked if there was anything else. She said no. Went upstairs 2 see the unit. There was a lock on it. Paged downstairs. They had my fiancee go downstairs. 10 minutes later, the same woman comes upstairs. Laughs 2 herself and points 2 a different unit. Says u can use this one and walks away. I open the unit and the alarm goes off. So I yell 2 this woman that is still walking towards the elevator. What about the alarm. She mumbles something about a key card with out even looking back at me or stopping, continues on. I buzz downstairs. They tell me they will turn off the alarm. I finish with the unit. Lock it up. The alarm goes off again. At this point, i am very disatisfied and angry. I go downstairs. My fiancee is working wirh this same woman. Moving like a sloth. I point 2 the owner and say i need 2 talk 2 u after u finish with who u have. I recognise it was busy, but at this point, I had been there 4 an hour and a half. He finished and i told him i was dissatisfied. He started working on the issue. The woman said they just said they wanted 2 look at the unit, i didn't know they wanted 2 do anything else. I guess she thought i wanted 2 stare at a unit i reserved online. Which makes no sense 2 me. She contended that i wasn't specific. She also sat in front of the computer and didn't help anyone else until the manager told her 2. She didn't get out of the screen we were in, until her manager told her he couldn't work on our stuff until she did. The reason i don't know her name is because she flipped her name badge. Additionally, the other employee told me 2 shut up. Said it was thier store and told me i was speaking loudly. I don't yell. I was direct and sort of insulting. However, i was treated poorly in the first place. This other employee also kept glaring at me. The owner then proceeded 2 work on the key badge. Ended up doing it twice because he messed up the first time. Then rang me up. I again paid 4 the unit. I am also renting a van today. I asked about that. No problem. The process took 2 hours. No apology was given or anything else. If i didn't need 2 vacate my elderly father's apartment today, i would have walked out. I needed storage and a van 2 take care of the issue. I had less than a week 2 do it. I thought your agency could help me because it had both. I dred going back today 4 the van. I understand the facility was busy, but doung a poor job and half assing a situation leads 2 these kinds of problems. There was no attempt at customer service. Just more and more insults. I have worked as a cashier before and while things are busy. I have sympathy 4 that issue. What i don't is poor customer service and wasting my time. I run a very successful business, as does my fiancee. So i understand business. Niether one of us could get away with this type of behavior and stay in business. I figure most of your customers are like me, dealing with a personal emergency and don't have a choice. Maybe your staff could do with learning some compassion, empathy and real customer service. Jst a suggestion.
roxann c | Premières impressionsI opened my first storage unit, # 1028, in 2003 and my second storage unit, # 1047, in 2009. Over the years both units have met all of the storage needs of me and my family. In 2018 my wife and I were moving to a new home and moved some additional items into 1047 until the move was complete. After the move we didn't have time to clear the units until 7/14/2022. Upon opening unit #1047 to begin the clearing process. At this point we discovered that multiple sets of golf clubs which were stored here in 2018 were missing. The lock was not damaged and no one in my family had them. I can only assume that someone was able to pick the lock, take the clubs and relock the unit without damage. While this is a negative experience, I am still satisfied with the storage experience.

It's not an easy job dealing with customers who are in the middle of moving, packing, etc as we know tensions are high during this time. So, thank you to all staff that dealt with trying customers immediately before my turn and were able to "start fresh" with me every time I needed assistance from them. My only concern was the elevator. We always made sure one of us had a cell phone with us at all times for fear of the elevator malfunctioning. Thankfully nothing bad ever happened, but the sounds, speed (felt we were at a standstill and the door just wasn't triggering to open), and the jolts were enough to ensure we should be prepared.

He insisted on my debit card to supposedly return a $139 payment that was supposedly already withdrawn. - even though i didnt have that amount in my bank account. After calling my bank they assured me uhaul has no authority to withdraw money from my account. I dont appreciate the misleading information from an employee trying to trick me into handing over my debit card. He made me wonder if employees were defrauding customers this way. Anyhow I wasnt satisfied at all with uhaul and their services

Tammy, Sandra and the rest of the staff are excellent. On my move-out, I used Uboxes. Tammy called and confirmed the time with me and made sure they were onsite when I arrived. She even personally walked over twice during my move to make sure everything was going well then made sure I locked them up properly for transport. I cannot say enough about her or the others I have interacted with there. Give them an annual bonus this year. :) Jeff

I purchased moving supplies from my local U-Haul facility in Troy, MI. I arranged for a one-way trailer rental via phone while enroute to Chicago. U-Haul scheduling called me to advise the pick-uo location at Five Star Auto in Joliet, IL. Julio was very accommodating. He was having trouble with the U-Haul web-site due to a system-wide outage. Rather than delay my departure he suggested emailing my paperwork and sent me on my way with the trailer. I had contacted U-Haul Moving and Storage in Naperville/Plainfield, IL about a storage locker. Upon arrival, I discovered the location was not as close to my destination as I had hoped. The attendant directed me to a more convenient location - U-Haul Moving and Storage of Fox Valley. Upon arrival, Kati helped me rent the perfect size storage locker. The facility was immaculately clean and well lighted. As an aside, please note that Siri (iPhone's guru of directions, does not seem to know that U-Haul Moving and Storage of Fox Valley exists - perhaps you can tell her about this excellent location so others can find it..
