Kimberly the manager at the Gadsden, Al UHaul was great! She has been very helpful during my moving process regarding getting storage units, she was always friendly when I walked in or called, and she was very knowledgeable of the Uhaul products. Even though the prices are higher I would come back to Uhaul and will tell others to use Uhaul.

I will never use U-Haul again. The application and corporate computer system are useless. Called customer service and although the representative was professional, the policy was useless. They have lost me a a customer. Goodbye U-Haul, hello Penske.

Manager helped me use it for the day but still charged extra for late return even though I had it less then 12 hrs and charged me extra miles due to uhual picking the dropoff location.

The rental was available, but the keys to start the vehicle were out of town. I had contacted the location 4 hours before the rental was to take place. I assured them that I was still doing the rental and yet the keys were not with the location. I waited 1 hour and 5 minutes to begin my departure. This is unacceptable. Not one wanted to discuss the issue with me.

Truck was not clean at all inside or out. Truck was dirty and moldy inside. Smelled of mold. I hated to touch anything in the cab. Looks like this truck has been abused for a long time, and never taken care of.

The manager needs to inform his staff of what he tells a customer. I was told I had to 7 pm but truck was returned at 4 pm. I still got charged an extra $44. Not cool.

My Unit has water damage from top to bottom always when it rains ,I thought I would be ok walking on the floor. I went in to get some things on 30th of August 2023. As I turned to leave my leg was going through the floor up stairs in my Unit. I grabbed for the ladder to get me out.

This was our 2nd trip to have a hitch installed on my mother's minivan for a wheelchair hauler for my step-father due to the call center ordering the wrong part our first go around. The part arrived earlier than expected so the nice guys at U-Haul Gadsden called as soon as they had the part in hand and were able to install it the very next day. Although this service is typically a drop off and come back when it's ready type, they were able to get it done quickly while my mother and step-dad waited. The service tech was able to provide my mother with a chair so she wouldn't have to stand. A huge thank you to U-Haul of Gadsden for providing swift and courteous service!!

I was assigned a storage unit online that was not empty or available. The door was locked and I had to walk 1/4 mile to the office to get an employee to unlock the door. She dis and we found other's belongings inside. We had to walk 1/4 mile back to the office to find an available unit. The 1/4 mile back to.oir vehicle to relocate to the new unit. The new unit had a malfunctioning slide mechanism that required a hammer to open and close. The online move in process is broken and cost me time and a lot of extra steps.

I returned a day early. I should not have been charged the full price. A short trip with easy offload should not be charged for the extra day unless I used it !

Brandon did an outstanding job, my appt was for 0800 hrs, I dropped off the car at 0720 hrs and got the phone call at 1000hrs, car was ready. GREAT JOB BRANDON !

The staff was rude and. Harassing when I questioned my 2 year contract stipulations. I was tempted to file a restraining order against your staff, Norburt due to tone and threats which his manager simply walked away.

First off the the attendant was too distracted socializing with I guess his regular customers. Secondly he recommended the van for full size bed, dresser, large tv cabinet, Tv, clothes, dishes and dining table w/chairs. The full bed would not fit like he stated. Made 2 trips and a 3rd trip is needed to finish the move. This has me in utter disgust because he didn't listen to me! He was more concerned talking to people that came in store and those sitting outside. Would not allow me to decline the insurance, wanted to use my own! Horrible service.

Did not realize my stuff could not be accessed 24/7 and the gate would be locked at a certain time. Storage unit is in a mud hole /pool of water so it made for miserable unload not to mention hard to maneuver 26 ft U haul in and out with out hitting buildings. However the ladies checking me in were very courteous!

The after hours key pick-up box needs to be updated. The locks are all difficult to open and the pick-up instructions don't include which key box the keys are in either. There are multiple boxes and so this leaves the customer with the necessity to try the all until they find the right box. I have rented from this location 2 times and both times and had this same issue both times. It needs to be addressed. The only reason I was able to pick-up my key on this last rental was because an employee just happened to still be there after hours closing up the store and they were able to find which box my key was in. Also, both times I have rented there were no dollys available. Luckily, I have a set, but I would have been up the creek had I not had my own. This also required me to drive to my house in the truck to pick up my dolly for which I incurred extra miles which I was then charged for. This also needs to be addressed. There should be extra dollys on site for rentals. It's a basic tool for moving and absolutely required. You cannot realistically move a truck load of stuff by hand without killing yourself. Especially a 20' truck full like I've rented both times! Other than that, the employees have been great and helpful and the site is great.

My property was damaged due to water, rust and mold. The entire unit leaked. And when reaching out to management for assistance with my deductible to file a claim I get a text message to just file a claim. This made my move extra stressful and time consuming because I still have to assess all the damage to keep stakes and property.

I had a rat in my storage unit and it ate through my couch and pooped over every little thing I had in there and my recliner somehow got molded. This is the second time my furniture has gotten messed up in a U-Haul and it'll be the last. I don't plan on ever using them again.

I would have given this facility a higher rating, but I did not have a good experience on my last visit to the facility. I'm over 60 and have issues going up and down stairs. I had a locker that I had to use rolling stairs to get into the locker. I asked 2 young workers if they could help me. I needed a little extra muscle to help me with the 2 containers I had in the locker. All they did was look at each other and say nothing. Needless to say I didn't get any help. I do hope those 2 enjoyed their lunch. I could understand if it goes against company policy to help, but they could at least have said something instead for just looking at each other. They too will be older one day and I hope they will have someone help them when they ask for help.

I was very disappointed with my experience with uhaul when I was trying to move my items out I was charge a extra month even though I paid the month already. When I came to unload my items I was told to just let me know when you are done nothing about I had only one day to get my items out of storage even though I had already paid the month & was moving items out early. I will never use uhaul for storage ever again. I will also tell everyone I know what they did very unprofessional.

I couldn't get in because I thought the code would be on my paper work....so I was locked out. The time was more than 30 minutes waiting on phone so the closing time was ten. My fault for arriving without first checking for positive entry

Have not moved in, only reserved 2 months before I need it. Web Reservation System is REALLY BAD. Extremely Poor information to uhaul polices presented. I reserved it for 2 months out. Took my information and confirmed the reservation, but didnt book the storage unit and make it unavailable for someone else. Called customer service and the agent was not helpful. Spoke to manager and cleared things up. We'll see.

The main complaint I have is that the storage unit was hard to access. I had to use portable stairs and climb up to the storage. This is very dangerous for older people. I didn't know that it would be so hard to load and unload the storage unit. I wish that I would have been told so that I could have found another place to store things. I had to hire younger people to load and unload due to the danger of climbing the stairs.

My storage unit was infested with a rat that ate, made a nest in, and died in my things. Many of my things were damaged from the rat and unsalvageable due to the unsanitary nature of this animal. The storage unit also leaked and I ended up with water damage of my shelving and a few boxes. After going through the insurance that I paid for they only offered me $400 for the damages that amounted to several thousand dollars. I had a terrible experience with the storage unit and all of that damage was done in just a month and a half.

The staff was all very helpful and were amazing. The storage facility was not climate controlled. It was way to hot to store anything of value in the unit. There were no lights anywhere to help moving in the unit. The building needed work done to be safe again.

The staff was awesome. Very very helpful. But the storage unit was disgraceful. I had a 26' van body unit. It seems like it leaked a little. There were rat poison/traps permanently installed. When I got my items out of storage we found a huge dead rat in one of our wardrobe boxes. Once again…loved the service, but next time I'll look for a nicer facility.

The lady who was there when we told her we had emptied the building on July 14, 2021, was not nice at all. She helped us but it seemed like she didn't want to.

We found the unit online but called and spoke with a rep to actually book it. At no point did she tell me the unit was 10 feet off the ground. It was not a traditional storage unit but a "locker" not at ground level. It was not described that way on the web either. When we drove 30 min to get to it and load my son's dorm room stuff to store for the summer there was no way we could load it having to carry it up a rolling metal staircase that would not even sit flush against the wall. We were able to get a refund but we had to scramble to find another option near his out of state university. The only thing we could find was an hour in the opposite direction and nearly twice the cost.

I was renting a indoor climate control storage unit with the recommended insurance. When I went to clean out the unit my wooden furniture had mold on it, there were two traps but in the unit by staffers for pest control. However I saw were a rodent had been on my things, because of his foot prints and scratches on my table. I'm very disappointed with the service.

Great location and friendly staff, I only rated average/ and not recommend to friends due to pricing. Way too high fee for a storage unit. I called around and every other facility was cheaper. I did use U-Haul because it was so close to my then home. U-Haul has always been great just pricing is a bit high!!
