Overall the process was quick, I'm thankful this location was able to accommodate us because prior to coming to germantown we were at the A1 Mailbox location on contour road in Gaithersburg MD. That location had no keys in the lockbox and the store never opened. I'm thankful for Misty from the call center helping us to find your germantown location and working diligently to help us come to a resolution.Jimmy H.

Mobile check in was way more complicated that I expected. There are signal issues in the area of this facility so it took me almost 40 minutes to complete the check in. I had to go to the edge of the property to receive a better signal and go back and forth to complete check in. Perhaps install Wi-Fi extenders for better signal. Besides that all was good.GARFIELD W.

Complete paperwork screwup. On Aug 25, 2022 charged $112,81 for 20' box truck used for 8 hours and 46 miles. On September 2, 2022 my debit card was charge $1 261,81 while I was home moving grass. Stay away from this fraudster company.Jim H.

The truck assigned to us was unfit for the road, brake kept auto slamming in the middle of the highway. We submitted our complaints after returning the vehicle and expressed our dissatisfaction in writing. Auto generated response we got assured us that we would get a call from them before being charged. We not only never received the promised call, but also charged essentially without our authorization.Kibru W.

The auto transport was old and in poor repair and had a broken strap that the employee had not noticed. Even though there were two other trailers, he insisted they were not available for use. He did search and found a new tire tie-down strap but then struggled a great deal to install it because he did not have the proper tools for the job. It took assistance from me and my travel party to complete the job. It took nearly two hours for this to happen. There were only two young men working at this location (mainly a storage facility). They did the best they could, but not having equipment (that's going cross-country) inspected and ready for pick up is not acceptable. This dealer also scheduled an equipment return to a location 30 miles from my destination and 30 miles from the location where I was scheduled to return the truck. I noticed the error immediately and when I asked to have the drop-off changed, he indicated he was unable to do so. I asked that he call support, which he did, but they still refused to help change the drop-off location. In addition, I had to remind the employee to attach the safety chains to the vehicle's underside once we had it loaded. (I'm guessing he was hot and flustered about the strap situation.) He was very kind and polite, and I feel bad being so negative, but it was a very frustrating and time-consuming experience. Once I arrived in NM I called customer support and (after a 30-minute hold on the phone) I was able to change the trailer return to the same location I was returning the truck to. Once I returned the trailer to New Mexico, I found out that the trailer had been reported stolen out of N. Carolina. Luckily, the receiving location was proactive and realized that there were two different sets of numbers on the trailer and had cleared me of any wrong-doing very quickly.Michaele R.
The truck they rented to me had no USB to utilize a GPS or phone GPS, It did have two cigarette lighters, so I stopped to buy one of those to plug in GPS and Phone. One didn't work at all and the second one stopped within an hour of my trip. The AC kept shutting on and off, and I was stuck in traffic for three hours. When I rolled down the window, the piece to the door crank fell off... When I got to the location to load my vehicle, the straps on the trailer were all frayed, and I struggled to get them loose. I wanted to complain when I went to drop off the truck, but My driver was waiting, and two people were being helped, so I couldn't stay... I totally forgot until I saw the total charge from 300 dollars to 850.00... YOu should have stuck a gun to my head, so I would feel better about being robbed. I've used Uhaul several times, but this will be my last.Mark L.

The online process of getting my vehicle was difficult and took an exorbitant amount of time. It would have been faster if the office had been open.Carl S.
Location is clean and tidy. Staff is ok. Uhaul has to improve the mobile pick up website and instruction page little more. specially if uhaul want more information about the pick up person they should request in advance. Assume person pickup truck at midnight and uhaul wants another party verification and known people are sleeping the whole processes get delayed .Ananda J.

Rude customer service needs to be fixed. I brought back rental truck before closing time of 7pm on Sunday but person working there refused to check me in and made me do self checkout on my cell even though it was 10 minutes before 7pm.NOUMAN S.

My only comment is that I received the trick with an empty gas tank (light on). I believe this shouldn't be the case. I'm not sure who would have to supervise sth like this, but the trucks should have at least a quarter tank upon pick-up.Natalia A.

I was given the run around. Had to drive an hour and a half to frederick, md only to be told that my truck was unavailable and I would have to drive to Germantown, md to pick up a truck. Had to then drive another half hour to get the truck and then had to wait on hold for 20 minutes as I was told that I had an eAlert. All in all this experience was HORRIBLE and I would not recommend uhaul to anyone, but unfortunately there are not other competitive rental truck companies.Kendra B.

1) Complain I reserved a truck with 24/7 mobile pickup which can be available at 8 am on 4th July in Food world 13220 Wisteria Dr Ste N7, Germantown. But actually, 24/7 mobile pickup didn't work at the day, so I called the customer center. They activated the mobile pickup but I could open the key box. Shockingly, there was no key in the box... I opened all three boxes but no keys everywhere. How ridiculous it is. No 24/7 mobile service available and No key!!! I hired movers via Uhaul and they were supposed to come at 8:30 am but it was already 8:40 am even though I couldn't get my truck. Do you understand this situation? I was late and I had to apologize to my movers. Please call Food world and fix their bad service. I wasted my time and money because of them. 2) Compliment Bad service but fortunately, thanks to your customer center staff, I could quickly get a truck. They found a new place I can borrow a truck. I don't know their names, not just one. I want to give them my appreciation.Jaewon L.

Made an appt. by phone, then recieved email saying I needed to confirm appt. by email. So ended up with 2 appts. Arrived at store, (which was a Food Mart) signs said "Official UHAL Location". Store was open, no one in it, most of the lights were off. Another UHAL customer arrived, as confused as I was. Once I found location (which was 2 streets awya) and made my move, cost was much more than expected. 79 cents per mile, plus $20. plus other fees eneded up being more than double cost. Won't use you again, it would be less hassle and cheaper to pay someone else to move one item.Daria B.

Customer service rep was on FaceTime the whole time she was assisting me, having a side conversation where I was confused. The fist vehicle was in an accident and the door didn't open. Still on FaceTime, she had no urgency nor was she apologetic. This location is very v unprofessional. We even had to turn the AC on while waiting an hour as the location was hot and stuffy with the door closed. The vehicle was very dangerous as shocks/struts seem worn. I stored my motorhome on the U-haul lot. It was damaged 3 times, twice by other vehicles, once apparently by an individual. It had to be towed after the last incident. The help I got from the general manager and the MCP (marketing company president) in trying to identify the party who caused the damage was insufficient. My email and phone calls were not returned. When I made contact with the general manager, I was given conflicting information about the availability of security camera footage. I was told it was available and being reviewed, shortly before I was told that no camera footage was available. This led to my lack of trust in management.
