My original reservation was not able to be fulfilled since the trailer I reserved was not available at the time of pick up. However, I was flexible AND Caleb (Holland, MI location) worked with me and provided some discounts for me to come back Sunday morning. As I was leaving the parking lot and rearranging my plans, the exact trailer I reserved was pulling in. I turned around and was able to take that trailer although I had to wait another half hour due to many customers who came in. The return process was simple and easy. Miguel met me in the parking spot and unhooked everything for me! Thanks! So, overall it was a positive experience and all worked out. However, I'm reminded of the Seinfeld episode when Jerry rented a car at the airport. "You can TAKE the reservation, but you cannot HOLD the reservation.......which is the most important part of the process." :-)

returning the trailer outside business hours was horrible. told to use uhaul.com and it didn't work. Tried calling toll free number and after being on hold for 20+ minutes we were hung up on (twice), last person told us to download the app it might work, and then transferred us to a queue with a 50min hold time... Unacceptable

I 'reserved' a truck, but who knew that a reservation only stands if NOONE needs a truck :( Then I was called 2 days before my move to tell me that I'd have to go somewhere else to get my truck as its NOT available at MY location. And NOPE, cant return it at MY location either, its only a city truck. Then the day of, call me to change my pick up time on me and cant even give me a truck for a FULL 24HRS, very sad. I have used UHAUL for many years but I believe next time, I will try someone else.

I left with my 26 foot UHAUL and got less than a mile and the engine light comes on and its jerking there was only a quarter of tank a gas . had to take time to return go return truck ... No real apology...

Storage side of things was great. Temp controlled, security and a convenient drive up garage you're free to use. I had to wait 30 minutes in line to inform them we had moved out and to finalize things. Overall good service. But like many places, currently understaffed.

The interior windshield on the van has not been cleaned in a very long time. A significant greasy film built up over the entire interior windshield. Also, I had reserved a vehicle from 9 to 5 PM. To my disappointment, at check in I was told I had to return the van by 4 PM as they had booked it to go out again that night at 4:30 PM. This created a severe hardship on my driving schedule

It would help if a rep went over the vehicle before leaving the site. The tow haul light was on and I called when driving to see if it should be off, the person I spoke to was helpful but it took a while to talk with someone. I did see the sticker in the vehicle but again, it would only take a few minutes to discuss a few things like that and mention emergency brake.

I have had several interactions at the Holland U Haul store with several different employees and they are always friendly and very helpful. They also seem to have a great relationship with each other, which speaks volumes to me as a customer. An excellent experience overall.

We rented when the building opened. It is a well designed building with ample lighting, with plenty of carts to move belongings in and out of unit. It also has two bays to back into to load during any weather conditions. It is cleaned frequently. Very friendly staff and support staff

There was a problem with registering the return. We returned a day early but received a notification the following day that the trailer hadn't been returned. I ask for a final invoice, but haven't received as of yet.

Many people have said this of your lakeshore location. Please get some more regular trucks available. Like the Ford F-150 size. Another thing most people wait 20 minutes to see a cashier. You need more help at this location esp in summer. Holland a summer town.

Awesome service, they had great advice for my move and even found a closer dropoff location to save me money on the rental. Had everything I needed ready to go right away.

The van that I rented had 3 dents/scratches. Although these had stickers on them, it was still a bummer that they weren't repaired. I tried checking in from the app, but it wouldn't accept my location, so instead it asked me to "scan the location" which I didn't know where or how to do.

This was a quick rental to pick up some furniture. The online reservation process was easy although I had problems uploading my license. It went smoothly at the counter, the truck was excellent and seemed fuel efficient (auto shutoff), and the return was easy. Price was very reasonable.

I was told I was not allowed to take the tow dolly for my car at the time I picked up the truck because I “couldn't unhook my car myself”. Even though they showed me how to unhook and hook it back up. So I had to waste an extra 40 minutes and more miles than I intended to drive the truck because of this. It added an extra hour to a long trip because they said I wasn't allowed to take it. When I talked to customer service they said I should've been allowed to take it at that moment. I only went to this location because I needed a bigger truck.

We used the truck for less than 24 hours and was told if we had it back, we wouldn't be charged for 2 days. When we returned it, he said he would email me my receipt. The next morning I still didn't receive a receipt so I called, and he said “looks like they haven't processed your return yet, I'll go do it right now.” Still didn't receive an email receipt that day. The next morning I called again, she emailed me a receipt within 10 minutes. After looking at my receipt, they charged me for 2 days, and another $50 for gas, even tho we only used the truck for 15,8 miles and filled it with gas before we returned it. This was all because they didn't process the return and check it in when we dropped it off. I had to call again and tell them my receipt was wrong. Finally that evening, 2 days after drop off, I was refunded $94. If I hadn't looked at my receipt and kept calling about my receipt, I'm sure I wouldn't have even realized I was overcharged. I can only imagine how many people this happens to daily, and I'm sure are overcharged for way more than the $94 I was.

The vehicle had a dangerous malfunction where it failed to accelerate and had to be swapped with another vehicle. It was a frustrating and unsettling experience.

Rented a 6 by 12 trailer the gate did not open to 6' (5')so I was unable to load and carry my cargo. Waste of money.

The uhaul website is horrible. Every uhaul executive use it to rent a vehicle and comment on the experience.

Great place, but a bit understaffed, standing in line for quite a while to get helped.

Have employees trained to help at either counter (both storage and rentals). The storage employee sat doing nothing while we were in line with people behind us waiting at the rental counter. Also, the truck we rented was very old with rusted tire hubs and a rough engine. My husband who drove it wasn't sure if it would make the 20-mile round trip.

They were on the phone when I arrived, one woman behind the counter and a man standing in front of it. They were conducting personal business. The woman asked if I was returning a truck, I said yes, she asked for the keys and paperwork and said ok then went back to her phone call. Never asked if everything was okay with the rental, never went out to look at the truck with me, didn't ask what the gas gauge was at or the mileage. Made dropping off the vehicle very easy. I just hope I don't get charged for anything that I didn't do to the vehicle!

Assistant Manager made my trailer return to the same facility easy. I was able to leave once I was done loading my storage unit. However, I wasn't able to arm or disarm my unit from the keypad at my building.

Had my 5x5 storage room completely ordered by phone in less than 5 minutes. Arrived at the store, was checked out in 10 minutes and loaded in my storage room immediately.

Staff were very gracious and patient answering my questions while deciding what storage unit would satisfy our needs. Storage building is nice in that it allows you to pull into an enclosed garage/bay to load and unload if weather is bad. Loading carts are provided to borrow as you enter the building. Good security setup involving swipe in and out with card provided and security cameras, etc. Very clean.

Disappointed that I booked the largest unit over the phone and found that the size was unavailable when I arrived with my load. Had to accept a smaller unit because my movers were there with a load on their truck. Had to pay movers additional amount because my allotted time ran over due to delay in time it took to reapply for smaller unit.

The staff was very helpful and accommodating, answering all questions even while busy with other duties. The facility was clean and well-maintained. My only complaint would be that the security system was not very intuitive. The alarms went off several times during our visit, and we were not sure if it was due to a mistake on our part or a malfunction. Overall, though, a smooth experience.

PLEASE purchase at least one DEDICATED hand cart for Building A. It's not that much of an investment.. Having to constantly borrow a hand cart from Building B is such an inconvience so I won't bother to return "borrowed" hand carts until this deficiency is corrected by management. Make moving easier for your customers. Maybe I should buy my own and store it within my unit.

Outstanding bunch work for uhaul I am serious I had Jill's movers empty the uhaul I have used uhaul many times before on long long long moves I mean like 2000 miles before they were great then and great now best bunch of people you will ever get your hands on give them all a 60 percent raise

We rented a storage unit for a few months while we had some working going on at home. We wanted a climate controlled unit that would not get mice or bugs. The U-Haul unit met our needs. The unit was clean and in good condition. We put a few sticky traps inside just in case something got in. At the end, the traps caught nothing and all of our boxes were in the same condition as when we put them in. Recommended. Staff was helpful too.

I was surprised to discover that the 5x5x10 storage was 10 feet vertical - not very convenient. Also, it was required to purchase a Uhaul security lock for $10.
