The U-Haul provided to me had a missing windshield wiper. Otherwise everything else was good

ABDUL Kone staff member was especially. older male said he had "been working here for 15 years" and said my car may have not been able to tow because it "did not have an engine". i asked him what rating my car could tow but he could not say. Manager was helpful and able to get me the dolly using reason and logic, unlike older male. equipment was wet and soaking. younger male was very helpful in getting the dolly hitched up to car.

NANCY BThe main problem was related to the system/software for the check-in. The condition was fine for the van but the system wouldn't allow "continue" unless I took a photo. -- The mileage was actually 0,1 miles more than stated. I needed to take a photo but couldn't figure out how to do that. It didn't seem like any way to take the photo. -- The ride of the van was really bumpy. ------- Something not to change - the friendliness and respect of your employees. The check in person was patient, calm, and clear. The check out person was friendly and smiled. I really appreciate the ease that comes with people being kind.

STEVEN BI was charged for gas that I did not use. I filled the tank to where it was when I picked it up but was still charged. I'll call today to get a refund.

MELVIN HThe storage unit was not clean (styrofoam and paper bags from previous renter) and there was a rat contraption in our unit and when I asked if they were having rat problems they were not knowledgable.

I further,called the customer service number for help and the person helping me couldn't help. He asked me to take a picture of the mileage and gas. Which I did and no one has called me since. I hope I'm not charged anything extra than the $69 I did drove over the mileage about 6 miles. I had hoped to drive 9 miles. Merci.
ABDULAI BMy storages were secured but not lit. I did not have any lights in either of my storages areas. They were clean. The staff was very professional and helpful.

YEMANE KYou can see pics that I submitted via the app of the crumbs between the driver side and passenger side. Also, the windshield from the inside was filthy and when the sun hit it, it was very difficult to see through it. The steering wheel was sticky, I would think that would have been cleaned after each use? I was using the app to get the truck, and when looked in the back there were no blankets as I had ordered. So, I had to go get them. However, a nice gentleman outside with a UHaul shirt/jacket was able to help me. There was a line, but he allowed me to bypass it and he checked my order and provided me with the blankets. Good things about my experience - the day before I was to pick up the truck, I called UHaul to find out if there was a place to park my car during the time I had the truck. Although, the message said there may be a 5 minute wait to talk to someone, I only waited about 30 sec and very nice person was able to answer my question quickly. Also, the truck was ready for me on time. When I came to return it, a few people were there to check it, they did so and I was out of there without any issues. In sum - GOOD - great personal service and i like the app because it saved considerable time. NEEDS IMPROVEMENT: Prep of extra items for the vehicle, needs better interior cleanliness. One more thing, I put back much more gas than was needed (when i picked it up it had 1/2 tank. It would be nice to be reimbursed for that OR the miles per gallon should be posted on the truck somewhere (I didn't see it if it was).

PATRICIA CI arrived at 6:55am for a 7am pickup appointment. Someone was already inside getting the day started. At 7am the door didn't open and the employee saw a line forming. At 7:05, I'm guessing the employee who came through the door was the manager because he said that we'd be right with you and passed through the door. He should have let us in and had us wait inside, instead of outside. One person in the line was elderly and had a cane and it was still a chilly morning.

I had to call to get a new drop of location because the only when your app would allow me to pick up J2R auto in bowie,MD was almost an hour away from my location and their numbers are out of service to verify they were still open. The customer service person I reached at 800 number was helpful and found the drop of location I ultimately used just a few miles away. Your online processes are a near failure currently
MATTHEW DWhat you can do is give the customer the correct drop-off location. I was told (and it was printed on my contract) that I was return the trailer to College Park. When I got there to College Park, they told me they do not accept trailers, so I was sent to Hyattsville. When I called customer service asking for credit for returning the trailer a full day early (which I did not receive) she told me I was to have returned the trailer to Spencerville (which would have been SO MUCH BETTER). So even though there was nothing wrong with the Hyattsville location in and of itself, it was way further out than I was needing to go and the return threw off my entire morning. So how was my experience? Pretty awful.

NATALIE NThe Customer Service 800 number arranged for my one month free storage after renting a truck. I got to Hyattsville, MD and they denied that I had made a reservation for Self-Storage. No free first month. They agreed after I threatened to call the Customer Service 800 number to inquire. They also said that they would straighten my bill out which they did not. They refused to let me speak with the manager of the facility. What a place.

Michael HI didn't realize that returning the fee to return truck after hours meant using the app checkin--I thought it meant a fee for returning it later than planned. So I was really disappointed to be charged the $20 fee. But the clerks were very friendly.

Overall the staff were pleasant and helpful, except one individual. When I needed one of their trailers moved said they had a bad back and told me to see someone else, that person was again pleasant and helpful. I have a bad back and I could have operated the equipment to move the trailer, it didn't require a "good" back to operate and they could have walked me over to the other person to make sure we connected, as other staff had done when they couldn't provide the assistance I needed.

People helping out at the desk were great, and a guy that serviced the vehicles even came and helped me move two beds and two TV's after a family member wasn't able to come help me. Wish I could remember names better, but this location is BY FAR the best I've ever had experience with

I had to wipe everything down with disinfectant wipes before removing - Also the unit had a smell of mice and mustiness- make sure clothes in well sealed bags to not pick up odors. I'm being honest here but also want to say the staff was helpful and location convenient and seemed safe. Other clients I met were also decent people. Was expensive for what it offered.

I had just driven 8,5 hrs from the Carolinas to move in with a JH and AV worth of things after packing my whole house and leaving at midnight. He was not very friendly and did not seem to want to be there. He was very combative with me when asking for alternate contact information and seemed to not want to explain exactly what or why it was needed. He also told me he was doing me a "favor" by providing me with my free one month storage for my contracts which were separate. As a former recent Uhaul employee I knew I had the right to my units for the month. He also tried to give me a smaller unit than requested specifically when I asked for what I needed and asked that it was on the same floor which was already shown to be available. This type of behavior was not customer centered and did not provide me with a good check in experience.
