The locking mechanism on my new unit was EXTREMELY hard to put the lock provided on. had to shove the lock onto a small hole really close to the ground.

-I paid for Covered RV Storage with electricity. The entire time I was there the Electrical outlet never worked. I notified the staff multiple times with no change. In addition, there were numerous instances when I would attempt to remove my trailer or park my trailer after use and there was a dumpster in the way of my spot. I complained to the staff and the manager and was told that they could not do anything about it. I had to hook up a chain to the dumpster numerous times to pull it out of the way myself. In all my years of Military travel, I have utilized many different storage facilities, and never have I been treated with gross negligence and disrespect as I was at this location. I will never utilize any U-Haul service again and will encourage others to refrain as well. This was a very underwhelming experience. Our unit flooded out and our items ended up with mold all over them. We had to throw away item in our storage unit because of the mold. Also we were locked in the storage facility because the attendant pad locked the enter/exit gate closed due to the gate being broken. Then we were denied access to out things because the gate was locked after 5:00 each day because the gate was broken. It was a horrible experience and it definitely was not a 24/7 storage place like advertised!!

Have enough boxes on hand. Have the employee recognize that people renting a truck are in a hurry...we are not there for a conversation...and move with a purpose. The system of having the customer scan their own license is needlessly long. Employee should be doing this. Sidenote- someone parked a 26 foot truck in the first space on tight, angled parking. So between a poorly designed parking lot and an inexperienced driver with a 26 foot truck, I was unable to pull in out of the way. I drive a 26 foot box truck for a living, and this was too tight for me.

Changed my reservation. Completely Unorganized and rude. Called the call center to be put on hold about 10 times then hung up on. Was told different things from every employee. Went to the hershberger location and stood alone in the store for 35 minutes before an associate came back to the unlocked, unattended building. I should have stolen more stuff while he was gone.

When I arrived no one was there as reported by bystanders and women who cleans manager quit and staff who was suppose to be there is missing. I had to drive to another location because I could not get anyone on the phone. When I arrive there I was told she was going to that location now. So I went back to original location. Where I am told I have to do everything online and now I have to download an app. When I booked the vehicle it asked if I would like to do check in online or with representative and I chose representative because I do not work for U-Haul and things go smooth when you have a worker to do there job and assist. So after checking out vehicles completely on my phone. I was finally on my way but behind time due to circumstances and I am still charged same amount for poor service. Only good thing was the truck. I tried to call at least three time to speak with someone about this issue. I spoke with someone on Richmond side who said someone from Prince George would reach out. 1800 number so was hung up on and put on hold more thank once.

I was charged $771 for a 12 hour trailer rental. I've called and emailed the manager and he has never returned my calls or emails. I have never been more frustrated and disgusted with a Uhaul store. We are a military family and moving is very costly for us. This charged has greatly added stress and frustration to our already stressful move. We will be filing a complaint at Ft Lee military base to get this store Blacklisted.

Truck cargo area was full of mud and smelled like fish. It was so dirty. I had to spend 2 hours just cleaning the truck before even being able to tolerate being in the truck let alone put any of my furniture in there. The gas tank was on empty even though they said it was at 1/16 of a tank. They told me I'd get a $57 statement credit if I returned the truck with a 1/4 tank and with current gas prices it cost me about $65 to fill it from empty to 1/4 (I checked at the pump when I had to fill the truck from empty) I'd actually like a partial refund if possible. It was super inconvenient for me to hav two spend 2 hours cleaning the truck when it was supposed to be in usable condition when I got it. Not to mention that I couldn't even drive 5 miles without having to stop to gas up. Very inconvenient.

The lady at the desk just looked at me and said nothing. I said I have a drop off, and she stated this truck was not scheduled to drop off at that location. I showed her the rental agreement and she said acted I was 3 days early. I asked for a reimbursement but she stated I would have to call customer service. It took a while to return truck because mileage was not adding up, and I told her she was probably looking at the trip meter vs the mileage, we went back out and got the correct mileage. She asKed for the dolly and I told her there was not one in there when I got it. I also did not get a receipt for the return because their printer was not working

I was charged double without explanation. Was told I had to return by midnight and have it fueled. I went over my miles.(7) I did fill up tank which was a quarter tank extra . This location is a hot mess. Always over charging, gate rarely works .

The trailer was in desperate need of service and raggety as hell. The worker attached it to my truck and 2 miles down the road the trailer came off the truck (thank god for safety chains). I reattached myself properly and had no other issue with that. Thankfully no damage to my truck or the trailer. This location had the trailer I needed on the lot and I had it reserved the day prior. One hour before my reservation it got changed and they tried to send me 45 minutes one way to get what I reserved. I go to the close location pick up a slightly different trailer that they had available and what do I see rolling out the gate?..... THE TRAILER I RESERVED! Horrible customer service and unprofessional. If they rerent the trailer I got it should be criminal. It has substantial damage to the flooring structure.

Email said the unit was ready. I called and was told the unit was ready, and to check in by 7pm to get 24-hour access. I arrived 5:30. The sign on the gate said open until 7pm. The U-Haul app said this location was open until 7pm. The lady at the desk told they closed at 5:30. She was busy with a return. I called again, the Reservation Specialist said there was nothing he could do, and transferred me to the main Customer Service line, at 5:30 in the evening,… wait time 55 minutes. I opened an on line chat, 15 minutes went by with no response in the chat. The lady finished the equipment return. I indicated that the sign says 7pm the webpage and app say 7pm but she said we're closed. I said, Ok I will cancel the rental. Back in my car, trying to call again, the lady tapped on my car window and asked if I had been to their main office half mile away, that office is open until 7pm,… I said I had no idea, why didn't you or the Reservation Specialist say that an hour ago. I drove over to the main office. Josh gave me a remote for the gate. I drove back and the gate opened when I pressed the remote. I found my unit and IT WAS LOCKED. I drove back to my hotel in Roanoke Rapids and called again. Wolfgang listened carefully, apologized, promised to take care of everything and to expect an email. So far today no email. If I don't get a response by tomorrow I will call American Express and reverse the rental fee and mail back your remote.

The uhaul location was great very helpful. My problem is with uhaul charging a flat rate of the amount of days you rent their equipment. It should be a certain amount per day so when you return the equipment early you get money back because you didn't use it for the entire time. If changes aren't made i will NOT recommend Uhaul to anyone.

I arrived at the location during business hours. I waited around for 30 minutes and noone was at the front desk. I had to call the 800 service desk to inform them I was leaving the truck and the keys were in the drop box.

You can start by having the equipment available that's been reserved. I reserved a utility dolly and appliance dolly and neither were available. I wasn't made aware until I picked up the truck. Also my pick up location was changed which I received a phone call to alert me of this however, the old location still continued to show on my reservation which was confusing.

the agent was very nice and helpful, but it took 30 minutes to get the key box to release the key. When we checked out, it kept putting a decimal point in the mileage response, so we couldn't input the correct mileage. We put more gas in than was used, which should be reimbursed somehow as policy.

Truck rear passenger tire warning light was on and tire visibly low. Informed attendant but at the time she couldn't find the valve attachments. Was told where I could find air. Had to spend time and own money to keep tire inflated which is the last thing you want to do when moving. Explained again to the attendant what I had to do when I returned the truck but she didn't seem to see the unprofessionalism in the matter.

This was my worst experience ever with any car or truck I rented in my life. 2 days before I was scheduled to pick up the truck and auto transport, my location was changed to pick up the truck in one location and the auto transport in a different location and that's the start of all the problems. The truck was not ready for pick up, it took them 30 minutes to clean up snow from the windshield before I was able to pick it up, we left to go and pick up the auto transport. Went to the colonial heights location and the auto transport was not at the location, it was in route, I spoke with a female to changed the time for pick up since it wasn't there, I went to upload the truck, while I was engaged in loading the truck I received 2 text messages about changing location when I finally got them I called the "Richmond manager", she told me that I need to change my location since there wasn't any auto transport available. I told her that I spoke to the people at colonial heights and I changed the pick time and what was the problem. She told me that since I wasn't at the colonial height at 10:15 she gave my reservation away. Mind that I spoke with her in the morning to change my time. Uhaul wanted me to drive 65 miles north to pick up the auto transport, and that was changed to pick up 75 miles north from my location, keep in mind that my reservation was to go south to Florida from colonial heights, VA. I went to colonial heights and saw somebody returning an auto transport and there was another one to a total of 2 auto transport, I was denied access to any of them. I asked them to find me one going south close to I95 south and that request was also denied. All of that drama took 4-5 hours, So we had to come back to Florida in 2 vehicles instead of one with a lot more fuel spent, Also an extra Hotel day. I would like to speak with someone in corporate since that was also denied.

They were not ready for business and did not really have processes in place to deal with the public or customers. I ordered a appliance dolly to go with the truck I rented and they gave me a small hand dolly not big enough for appliances and had no strap. Most likely will not use this location again.

Kathy, the lady there at the Prince George did not ask me if I wanted to use the card that was used to reserve the auto transport or another one, she also automatically gave me the insurance that I didn't want or need. This caused me to be over drafted on my bank account, I never use what I reserve with. When I told her all of this information was wrong, she did tried to fix it but couldn't. I contacted the dispatcher and she said that I would be returned $33 but she could not Chang the card out even when they both tried to remove and redo the dispatching again. Kathy was to timid to talk to the dispatcher so I had to. This lady made it to where I had to take money I had saved up for my trip and put in my account so that my bank didn't charge me overdraft. She should not be working at a place that has to deal with other peoples money and to timid to talk to people.

When I dropped off the trailer the U-Haul attendant told me that trailer should not have been rented out & I was lucky the tire did not blow out! There was a wrong wheel on it & it was rubbing the whole trip, 350 miles!

This is no attack on the employee! She did everything to try to get her computer back online so we could sign the contract. I was there to pick up at 9 am didn't get done until around 10:20. Was not offered a discount by management for The delay and charged me 60 dollars for three hours of use of a single car transporter. The employee was a Saint!

I was informed I had to arrive before 4:45pm. I rushed (2 1/2 hour drive) to arrive and was there at 4:05pm. No one at the desk, I called the number that was left at the desk, transferred to head office. They called, no response. I walked around shouting and looking for somebody. They showed up at 4:40pm. They stated they received no calls and "kept checking to see if anyone needed help" No need to lie.

Don't make move complicated. Please stop changing reservations Stop moving customers to locations not near them. Ensure that the truck they rented is what they'll get. Please me mindful of travel time as well as mileage.. truck had some acceleration issues.

Office incredibly small. No more than one person can fit. For some reason my rental was moved to this location from the most convenient location for me. If I have to drive an extra 20 min further from my house there should be compensation for this. The best location I dealt with in the entire move was where I made my original reservation at in Colonial Heights, VA. Charlie was super helpful, and runs a top notch operation.

On Saturdays there really should be more than one person working for safety reasons. The second person did arrive but came in later. When I arrived, the door was locked and I went around the side and I saw the person and waved at them. I understand now why she had the door locked but I thought at first, no one was there.

I made a reservation online. When I arrived they said they had the reservation but weren't sure they could honor it. WTF? What is the point of the reservation if they won't hold the space? Then, in trying to close the rental, they weren't open very late, we had to have a person walk through it (ridiculous), and while in line, there were two people in front of me which took almost an HOUR to get to me. Ridiculously BAD customer service and systems. Needs a lot of work.

The cranks used to tighten the straps around tires were in need of an upgrade or at least WD40. Because of this we had to work harder tightening and loosening it much harder loosening. But thats small fix would recommend and definitely revisit.

The women who did help me with my new contract was really nice and friendly, was a lot of customer at the same time and also the business phone and she handle everything like a professional. (but was to much for just one person, U-haul need to contract more employees)

The potholes were pretty bad near the storage unit. U-Haul representative tried to charge me extra money for the storage. Which is totally wrong. They took it out my account they put it back in my account and then they took it out my account. Someone is playing around with my credit card number. And I reported it to the fraud department at the bank.

Employee was clueless about our reservation. She said she had it but wasn't sure she could fill it as walk-ins could have taken the one remaining storage unit. What is the point of a reservation if they won't hold the unit for us? We were very angry but finally she found the last one in the facility. Would not recommend this to anyone. Furthermore, employee was VERY SLOW and uninformed.

I had problems from the time we moved in our belongings. Unfortunately, we stayed at the facility because in was literally 2 minutes away and the easiest to access. However, we had issues with our gate access working correctly several times (having to go get our remote replaced 3 times), our initial move in ( the staff member assigned us an unauthorized unit), the gate always being broken and open, poor communication from the previous staff (phone calls not being returned and misinformation given by staff), a condescending manager and district manager (both had an "oh well. I don't care" attitude), and a broken door to my unit.

I enjoyed the access with a remote gate opener. I was very disappointed to find out someone had stolen the catalytic converter from our RV while it was parked in the 'secure' lot. Upon reporting this to UHaul I was told a manager would get in touch which never happened. When I checked out, I reported the theft again, and neither of the two clerks on duty responded.

#5 above: Structures are clean and well maintained. But, there are drainage problems here. A small rain storm had my camper setting in standing water. And, the road, or path into the facility is badly rutted. I left the facility because of the rate increase. There are other more cost effective alternatives available to me. This would be a 5-star facility if U-Haul would spend some money to fix the drainage and road problems.
