The rear signals on the vehicle did not work. I returned the truck 10 hours earlier than planned due to this. I also had an issue with returning the truck so I called customer service and they noted the return. I rent u-haul's around 3 times a year and this was one of the poorer experiences I've ever had.

Torie did a wonderful job for me. She got me into the right size trailer swiftly and efficiently. I accidentally cut myself, and she immediately got me a bandage and made sure I was alright. Exceptional customer service at this location.

Next time you put a cover on a pod, make sure the front faces the front. We're just about killed ourselves trying to remove the cover because the delivery truck driver did not have the appropriate equipment to remove the cover for us. Also, pick up the cover when you retrieve the pod. Teach staff to transfer phone calls to the correct person to avoid customers having to be transferred over again. Call Val, not a great experience, and will not recommend U-Haul.

The workers are arrogant and lazy, i wanted them to give s proof i gave brought bak the truck and the refused to go outside and check it in, they told me to leave the van outside with the kets in it. If someone is to steal thd van it could be my liability. Do i had no choice but to leave it outside . The photo tool is annoying. I broughr the vsn back 6 hours ago and i have not yet received a receipt.

The entire staff was so nice and knowledge. I have used U-Haul in other parts of Maryland in the past but Lanham was the most friendliest! If I ever have a moving need again, I would DEFINITELY go back to the Lanham location and I WILL be referring my friends to the Lanham/Bowie location!!

The tow dolly that was originally rented to me wasn't not found on the property. The guy helping me decided to give me another tow dolly and he was suppose to let the front office know about the missing tow dolly and that he gave me another one. The guy never informed the office that the original tow dolly wasn't out back and the he gave me another tow dolly. I returned the tow dolly that night after U Haul closed and 2 days later I get an email saying that I need to return the original tow dolly. I went back the this location and let them know what happen and they did close out the account but I do not like the fact that the guy never informed the office that he wasn't able to find the tow dolly and that he gave me another one. This is my second time having issues with this location. The last time I rented a tow dolly someone was suppose to me to set up the tow dolly and they never showed up. I waited 15mins then went back to the office and they said the guy is walking over there now. I go back and no one was there. I waited another 15mins and no show again. I went back to the office and told them to cancel my rented.

Your App stinks. I was trying to use the self pickup option on my phone and it froze at the determining the right location part. I wasted 15 minutes standing in the parking lot waiting for your App to determine if I was at the right location. I finally gave up and went inside. Not a happy experience !!!!

The staff there is rude and don't seem to value the customer or provide good customer service. I had a reservation and had my friend go to the location for me because I was running late. While my friend was in line it turned 7pm and the young man (short dreads and glasses and drives a older Burgundy car (I think a Hyundai) with VA tags). So, my friend waited for me outside and when I arrived, I asked the employee if I can I get the truck he was extremely rude and dismissive. He only acted like he wanted to leave and did not seem to have any care of my issue. He did not even want to speak to me. He almost got me out of my character but i relaxed. He is why I will never come to that location again and more than likely choose another company when I need to move. The manager beardly seemed interested in helping me. He said he would be around for 10 more minutes and after he walked away, I never saw him again and I was there for another hour and a half trying to do a mobile pickup. Just an overall poor and bad experience

Shout out to Lionel J who installed the hitch to my Chevrolet Equinox at UHaul in Lanham, Maryland!! From the warm welcome he gave me, his VIP service, showing me where I can wait during installation, and talking me through and showing me how my hitch works... he made it all a wonderful experience. As a woman of a certain age & a mother getting ready to help move her oldest son's stuff from the mid-west, I appreciate the time & patience that Lionel gave me so that I can have the confidence to use the hitch by myself. I'm not sure if I'll be renting a cargo trailer when I'm there (my son can accumulate a lot of stuff) but having the hitch installed and ready to go just in case has given me peace of mind. If I need a trailer, I'm going to UHaul! Again, thank you Lionel J!!!

The first encounter with the male rep was great while checking in at front desk. We were told to pick up truck from parking space but not told the directions for finding the parking space. The key did not work. We had to walk back to the front desk. We were given a new key, We could not complete online assessment of truck when noticed license plate on truck didn't match one in photo online. I went back to front desk and make rep asked female reps if the customer was sent a new link which was sent, The truck had a dent on for front bumper but the online photo did not show. I disapproved photo and uploaded Live Photo taken of the front bumper appearance with dent in front bumper, Once at the drop off tent, customer service rep had to upload photos of the dent on the front bumper showing the damage to truck before it was rented.

Make sure the trucks that are sent out with utility trailers have the capability to pull the trailer up an incline with a load. I waisted money on this rental because I could not get the truck and trailer in and out of the work area. I run a small landscaping business and had my truck and trailer totaled by I reckless driver. While I am waiting for the settlement check I have rented from this location a couple times to finish end of the season work and this situation really hurt my business.

My overall experience was excellent. My two preferences are, I wish the units were accessible beyond 10PM and, there was a ramp to the 2nd level. I had to take items up a flight of stairs for both of my units. So try to request a bottom floor unit if possible. Staff were wonderful to work with and they all were very pleasant.

The front desk female rep was FaceTime her boyfriend while she was engaging with customers. I asked her to disconnect her call when she interacted me to avoid the boyfriend hearing my confidential information. She was rude. Also she did not input in the system my truck rental and storage move out correctly. The general manager had to resolve my issues.

Throughout my rental period l never missed a payment. Days before move out l went to the facility to talk to staff about my plan to move out on the first of August. My payments were due on the 26th. I was told if am moving out on the first l should be fine with the July payment already made. August first l got a truck from Uhaul to move my stuff. Instead of the staff l talked to, closing the storage account, they didn't and l got multiple emails about payment when l already addressed that before move. That was not acceptable.

The only reason I put average was because we moved our daughter out of college and she had some heavy boxes and appliances and we had a unit upstairs and it was as so hard moving her stuff up those steps if it was an elevator it would of been great but overall it was a good experience.

The gentleman that helped me pick the space that was fantastic. However I was told I would be able to access the space until 10pm. At 7pm, I was told the garage doors were locked going to be locked and I would have to enter through a single door. That is devastating news to a person who is paying movers by the hour. Additionally, the entryway was blocked due to auction waste. The staff cleared just enough for us to access the door, but the rest of the waste was left for us to navigate. It was disgusting. I have the pics to prove it, and I have the pic of the associate locking the door in my face, when she could of easily let me slide one more load through the garage door, before she locked it. Poor condition, poor service and unclean environment.

Regrettably, there is no lighting inside the storage unit. I would have put a battery operated lighting device that can turned on when needed. Also, location of the unit in proximity to the loading dock was dicey; go down one row, turn right, go down another row to get to unit. Not easy (tiring) when you have physical mobility issues. Overall the storage area is cleaner/nicer than Public Storage I have used in the past.

I received calls every week after I rented the storage to see if I moved out. I only had it for 2 weeks. I was told by Cal that 1st month was free but the rude female associate said it was not free for the first month. My code to the build never worked I called for help they only came 1 time to see why my code was not working I want my money back.

Horrible experience took my money for something I never even used. I was told that I would be able to refund after seeing that the unit would not work for me and when I tried to do so one was denied to me I will never rent a unit with Uhaul ever again

The young lady that helped us was great. She was friendly and answered all of our questions. She demonstrated how to check in and showed us around. We were confused about the size of the storage place but she helped us with figuring out our needs she also had a great sense of humor.

Some of the staff was not friendly. Some staff members will tell you one thing Olof their policy and the same day another member will tell you I something different for the same question. I complained about roaches being in my unit and you will even see them crawling down the hall. I was told that I should have gotten the insurance from them and possibly it would cover the expenses of getting pest control. Later I went to my unit and it was full of rodent droppings. Some of my items are ruined. The previous staff when I first moved into the unit was wonderful and very helpful, they did not mind explaining things. The staff now seems to not care about the customers or their belongings. The 24 hour access i paid monthly for did not get me the access. One one day the doors were open and the next day they were locked and the card will keep denying you to get in. Not convenient at all. There seem to be a lot of staff turnover and no consistency in the policies either. I am very disappointed with my rental

My son passed away in June and the absolute caring and best web he my husband and I received was from your GM…She took time to speak with us understand and work the solution…Her customer service, her attitude, her caring and willingness to listen and understand was top notch..I am a business owner myself and she is someone I would definitely want at the front of my business…Thank you Uhual for hiring people with excellent customer service I swear she made our dealings less painful…

The staff were great I just expected the the unit to be taller. I ended up having to buy another unit because I could not stack my bins. The unit is at a different facility and cheaper which made me a little upset

I was given a top floor room. I am over 65 and had a noticeable handicap. When I first arrived in the office the clerk ignored my showing him, on my phone, my reservations and only did the small items. I had to return and ask for management to have the storage portion, main portion, completed. This unit is not satisfactory because as told I have few but extremely heavy items. The stairs will cost me more to have my items moved when that time comes. There was a lack of knowledge from management and employee were not willing to share their knowledge to make sure all ran well, no teams work. This reflects on the employees more than the manager who is new.

The office staff overcharged me for a month I never used the storage. She also charged me a late fee despite the fact I paid my storage fees on time via auto pay for two years. This is extortion and demonstrates predatory practices by uhaul. Tim Traylor

Unfortunately I can't give this facility a great rating I'd rather rate the individual employees who did their best to assist me even after the so called Manger call herself giving customers service which was so unlike any other treatment I'd received at a uhaul facility. She was very abrupt and not very accommodating at all. She also had the audacity to charge me for a lock that I didn't ask for or needed. It would be best to take one of her staff members to put them in place of managing vs the current manager who goes by the name of D. She could use a lot more of quality training/customers service training.,

I chose an AVERAGE rating because this facility has NO ELEVATOR, which makes it even harder when moving heavy things in and out of the unit. Also, I spoke with a few others who are renting units at this location and they complained about mice on the first floor. My unit was on the second floor and I did not have any issues with mice. However, I did see a mouse on the first floor.

U-haul prices are very reasonable and the customer service is great. They take time and explain and show a customer each size unit to assist them with their proper size for what they're storing. Great job.
