The 800 number service to call and arrange drop off was worthless. No one answered and I was disconnected three times after going through all the prompts. Then called a second 800 number and was faced with a hold time of 30+ minutes. Hire people to answer phones and help customers.Edward Y.

Workers told me to park it in a certain spot. Then that spot proceeded to block me in to where I could not get out of the lot. They then just stood there and forced me to unhook the trailer myself. Then because I was blocked in they told me to pull around the grass area even after I asked repeatedly were they sure it was ok. I pull into the grass and get stuck. I finally had to tell one of the workers to grab a strap and tie it to my truck and the uhaul pick up truck they used to pull me out. Then once I was out I went inside to return my unused boxes and neither of them knew how to do the return and it took another 25 minutes until they finally figured it out. This is the most lazy and pathetic staff at this location for any type of job I have ever met.STEPHEN H.
Uhaul ruined my rental and was a nightmare. I ordered it for pick up on Sunday at Cornerstone and when Uhaul called me the day before, they said the weren't open on Sunday. So how would I have picked it up? Then they said the place I could get it at was open but not for 90 minutes after I needed it. I also wasn't able to get the 17 foot, had to settle for 15 foot and make more than one trip. They also didn't have the. 4 wheel furniture dollys which I ordered as well which made my move even harder. Terrible experience after numerous amazing ones with Uhaul. This will make me shop other alternatives next time I need to rent a truck. Super disappointed.Howard S.
The app for checking out the truck is very frustrating to use. I kept getting errors that my photos of the drivers license and face were too blurry, and gave up on it to get checked out by the attendant on-site. converting from the on-line checkout to in-person and other difficulties caused a half hour delay.Phillip R.

I rushed to the facility early because I wanted a real person checking me in. After the terrible experience with the app this morning, I did not want to have to use it again to return the truck. Facility was clean and easy to find and the attendant was good. U-haul is a great company and provides a great product but I will not use them again if I have to use the app.Eric J.

The van seats were filled with dog hair. I love animals but the inside was not cleaned at all. Whoever used that particular rental only filled the tank enough to be on the full sign and not actually completely filled. (once full, the gage actually went well past the F) I drove 79 miles and ended up putting in over 7 gallons of gas costing me almost 30 more dollars. It was an odd start. I wasn't welcomed into the store as the worker was too busy looking at her phone to acknowledge me. I wasn't shown anything on the trailer or noted any issues or shown lights work etc. she hooked it up (with my help as she was not strong enough on her own - why would one woman be working on this day with no help and can no lift trailer on her own?) and then she walked towards another customer outside. No goodbye, no check this or see this, literally walked away after hooking up. It was weird.Michael L.

Absolutely terrible experience. They switched my reservation to another location and I when I went to pick up the truck, the store was not open at Sunday at 9:30am (while the original store was). Also, the truck was not even present at the location that they switched me to. After 20 minutes of scrambling and calling to see if anyone was inside, I had to go back to the original location (14045 W Rockland Rd, Libertyville, IL 60048). They couldn't cancel my original reservation and didn't bother to apologize for the mishap. After I returned the truck, I find out that they charged me additional $20 for fuel. The issue is that I already filled up the fuel back to the same amount that I received it. Mr. Gregory Williams didn't apologize for anything nor did he seem to make a mental note that this is bad customer service. I think in the future, the same issues will happen to the next customer.Alexander C.

The drop off was changed at the last minute, which required additional mileage to drive to drop off the truck. The facility was closed by the time I was able to drop off the truck and I was charged additional $20 for "after hours". When I called the facility the individual was rude. I was told that I was supposed to check out using my phone. The parking lot was very dark and the checkout required a password. Note that not everyone has iphone or password available with them. Uhaul would not refund the $20 charge. Very disappointing.MONICA F.

Pick up this morning was great, not a problem. But the young woman who I turned the trailer in to this evening had a very poor attitude. I'm deaf and she did not care. She kept talking fast in the dark and looking away from me. I offered to use ASL and she got really sarcastic. That's very inappropriate! Then she had me park in a distant lot in the dark. I couldn't see a darn thing. So instead of risking damaging things in the dark I disconnected the trailer and tried to push it by myself. She was busy with her phone and only assisted me at the last moment. The trailer also rolled into my truck, dinging the tailgate. I could not see a darn thing and she was too involved with her phone to help. I had pulled into not one, but two lighted areas, the second with a big sign that says â€œCUSTOMER RETURN, STOP HEREâ€, before she sent me back to a dark unlighted outlot. There's no reason I could not have dropped the trailer in a lighted area. I'll return to talk to the manager tomorrow. The employee working 11/8/21 at 5:15 pm on Rockland Road shouldn't be unsupervised. Pick up took 15 minutes with all the paperwork and help connecting the trailer. Drop off took 35 minutes, and there was no one else there! I'll be happy to provide additional specific feedback.Sidney S.

I realize why Uhaul does not put a peg leg on their trailers, because people would break them off and it could get expensive. But it would make it a whole lot easier especially when you have no where to park your truck and trailer. Other than that it was a very simple rent and return. But the drive from Illinois to Texas was brutal, nothing Uhaul could do about that.RONNIE N.

We were able to pull inside and unload, and they offered carts to facilitate moving large items. The spaces are all well lit and exceptionally clean and well maintained. My initial experience with checking in to my new unit left a bad taste in my mouth. The staff member assisting me was very friendly and helpful. Things started off a a bad foot with the master online reservation system allowing me to reserve a unit that was not physically available at the location I chose, more or less forcing me to accept a bigger unit for a higher cost. The attendant did not express a particularly high degree of confidence in the electronic capabilities of the security access card nor in the sturdiness of the individual alarm on the unit itself. There was also a conflict of what the unit access hours were, with the paper I was handed stating until 10 p.m. but the staff member saying only 7 p.m. There was also a mention of a $10 charge for after hours access, but that is listed nowhere in the contract.
