Jerome is ALWAYS smiling and kind. Even with snarky people. A year or so ago, I was going through a very tough time. I disagreed with something that was completely out of anyone's control. I behaved snappy and very rude. Jerome never changed his demeanor and NEVER reflected it back at me. Perfect customer service skills. He is thoughtful and always consistent. He attempted to look at things from my point of view and handled things perfectly. I came back and apologized to him. He was very receptive and kind to me. I will always want to do business at this location for my storage and hauling rental vehicles because of Jerome. He is the best!Faith P.

The app for self check in was not working. Because of that, there was an extremely long line. Additionally, the customer service reps were extremely chatty. It's good to have friendly employees (and they were!), but that needs to be balanced with a sense of urgency when there is a long line. It took us an hour and 10 minutes to pick up our truck. By the time we got back home we had people who were there to help us move waiting around. On the flip side, the employee who helped us out at the end of the night (I wish I'd gotten his name) was amazing! He went over and above what I would have expected.Maxwell M.

Took an hour to return the he vehicle due to poor customer service. We were not familiar with the location and didn't realize we weren't at the drop off spot but at the storage area within the property. Tried using the intercom and a woman just said go to the office, gave a phone number with no area code. She knew we needed assistance and never came. Another customer had to explain where the office was. After a 12 hr day of moving, this was extremely disappointing.Stephanie B.

This location was extremely busy for drop off but the gentleman that we worked with was very nice and helped us very quickly. He was very accommodating and went out of his way to make sure our experience was great. When I arrived to pick up my rental. There was a long line and only 1 person working the counter. Despite being without help and dealing with unsure and confused customers, he moved the line fairly quick and I was on my way. When I returned my rental nearly 3 hours later his call in help had still not shown up and there was once again a long line. He was still moving people through at a good pace all the while with a good attitude and professionalism. It would have been very easy for him to get frustrated with the situation and he should be commended. He worked all of Friday August 6 in the Mankato, MN Madison Ave. store.Michael A.

You're website needs improvement. I received a cancellation email less than two hours prior to pick up. I went to the pick up location and the equipment was there. They didn't know why I received a cancellation email other than that your system indicated â€œtrafficâ€. Perhaps you should have the pick up location verify if they have the equipment.ROBERT P.

I was just handed a key and told to have a good day. I didn't know where to find the van I had rented and had to go back in and ask. Then, on my way out, the exit looked blocked so I turned around and was gong to go out the way I came in. An employee on a forklift with a major attitude told me I was doing it wrong. I told him I was sorry, but I wasn't given a whole lot of information on when I was handed the key. He got completely condescending and acted like I was insulting him..when it wasn't him that checked me out...so it didn't even make sense. Something about he was a guy that acts in good faith, blah blah blah...ummmm...what?!?! Completely unnecessary to get an attitude with me as I was just confused as to what I was doing. Jerome sucks! Didn't give us proper information on how to utilize storage, as this is our first time renting a storage! We were running back and forth but ended up using the wrong swipe system and that's why it wasn't working. He just told us what building, swipe card and enter our storage but didn't tell us which system, there is two on our building and how storage works except what we cannot put in it and disarm before opening. Also, made reservations and he made it difficult to process, explaining how much more "difficult" it is to get it on the spot when I reserved it ahead of time! We were fortunate to have your storage facility in Mankato close enough to Blue Earth where our mom lived, and that the storage units were practically new and were in wonderful, clean condition. After our mom passed away in late 2019, we were able to safely and securely store many of her smaller belongings until we were ready to distribute them to family members just recently. Only upon arrival, we were informed our reserved rental unit was not available and we would have to choose other units. I don't know why we were not informed of this prior. We had to settle for another offering but this only offered heat instead of the desired climate control. This was fine for now but the heat was clearly not working in the rental building. We were also not allowed a price break to compensate for the inconvenience, or much flexibility. I did acknowledge the heat issue with the staff, who indicated they would contact the manager. I have been immensely satisfied with both the quality of the storage facility and the staff. With the need to keep my units for a time even after a move to a different state, I felt comfortable knowing that U-Haul can track any entrance to my unit.
