At this location Amy was exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly and attentive to my rental requirements and went above and beyond. She made sure that what I was picking up would fit through the opening on my trailer which I didn't even think of since I only considered the trailer width and that would have been a real headache. It really shows that she's experienced and cares about the needs of her customers. Customer service was great! Due to miscommunication with the reservation, I was charged for more miles. I was only supposed to use 10 miles and ended up using almost 30. The young lady at the front desk was not very friendly and it seem as though she didn't want to be there working. She was on her phone and very dismissive. Probably will not return to this location againWILLIAM H.
The employee who helped me check in for my reservation seemed to be having a bad day? When I went in to the store she was not inside and after several minutes of waiting she returned audibly sighing. When I asked if I could exchange some sofa covers (I couldn't find my receipt) and purchase a mattress cover she told me that was simply not possible that even for exchanges a receipt is required. I had also asked if she could put another driver on my reservation (because when I rented a truck the previous week in Philadelphia, the staff there had done this) she said, "its on the reservation - you can do it yourself". Finally, when she handed me the key and dismissed me, I had asked where/which truck was mine (the week prior the staff and brought the truck to me, and i heard them giving directions to other customers as to where their truck was parked) she said, "match the key tag to the truck". She was the least helpful for quite literally each thing I attempted to complete at the store besides giving me the key.Jacquelyn M.

We was rented a truck that had a battery that was bad. I was stuck in Medford for three hours because it wouldn't start. Road side assistance helped but told me the tow truck guy was bringing a new battery. And he didn't. Thankfully he was able to jump in so I can't get back home . I want my money backyvette D.

We had to walk to the rear of the facility, the inspection was done w/o the customer rep via mobile phone. Same thing upon return of vehicle, the representative NEVER left his chair. We ordered a 26' truck but was told the person who rented it before me had not brought it back yet so i was asked to take a 20' truck. I had two storage units to clean out so this size was not good. I had to fill the truck with all the things that could not be taken by car. I had a friend with a truck take the remainder of my things the next day and I am thankful they did it because I would have to order another truck for that second storage unit.Ramsey S.

When I initially called from the Cinnaminson store to reserve the van - the woman representative was outstanding. Very personable and knowledgeable. When I picked up the van, the woman who processed the transaction could have used and infusion from the first woman. Could have been more friendly. The woman I spoke to when I returned the vehicle was pleasant. Overall the vehicle was fine however the driver side door required some effort for it to close completely. My overall assessment of the U haul business Cinnaminson store experience was very good. Only used for supplies. I probably dealt with four or five reps over several visits - all were friendly and helpful. They had no 17' vans for the day I needed. Maple Shade store - above average. As a former small business owner I hope this was helpful and your able to use it to enhance the business.jim D.

I would like to start by saying I am never the one to write a review but my experience today at the Maple Shade NJ location was truly horrific. I completed/sign up for the rental through the app to insure that pickup would run smoothly but it was far from that. I am very tech savvy and normally opt to use the app service option but the app was not working on either my personal or work cell for the first 20 minutes. After finally contecting and finding my vechial I was alerted that I needed to enter the store to pick up the keys after I opted for contactless pick up. My pick up time was 4:30pm which is before this location closed but the door was locked. I had to knock until someone came to greet me at the door. She seemed to have no idea what was going on and an INSANELY loud alarm was going off the entire time. I finally asked what that alarm was and she said that goes off when people enter the storage units without a key, not sure what that even means. I also prepared for a ton of equipment yet the uhaul was not loaded and I wind up not getting everything I paid for. To top it all off the uhaul was dirty and had trash up front. It sounds like it is going to take off like an airplane. The door is rusted and you need two people to pull it down to lock it in place. I would also like to note the uhaul had less than a quarter tank. I have never been so stressed and disappointed with a service in my life. I would like to be reimbursed for the equipment that was not in my truck. I will no longer be taking this truck the 60 miles I originally noted and will be going 15 miles tops. If someone could please contact me as soon as possible. I will be dropping the truck off in the late morning.Elizabeth G.

I currently rent two storage units at this location AND rent trucks once a month (on average). When I was in to pick up a truck on Monday, July 11, I was ambushed with an 'E-Alert' which said I owed money for an insurance claim. 1. While there seems to be no problem emailing me invoices for my two storage units every month, for some reason this information about me owing money was not emailed to me. 2. I was dropped off figuring I was just picking up my rental truck and leaving, but instead had to spend 30+ minutes on the phone, first with a U-Haul representative, and then with an insurance claim representative. So I couldn't cancel the reservation as I had no way of leaving the U-Haul location. 3. I had people waiting for me at the location where I was picking up things for these 30+ minutes. 4. A simple phone call, to either of the phone numbers on my record in your system, could have alerted me to either: 4a. You couldn't reach me by email or 4b. To tell me of the problem when I could deal with it when I didn't have others inconvenience waiting for me. 5. By having to pay for this claim over the phone, in order to 'unlock' my reservation, AND to get to my waiting volunteers, I was not able to question or fight the claim charges. Overall, I was very upset and not pleased with the way a U-Haul long-term rental unit customer AND very frequent truck renter was treated, Please have someone call me to discuss. Thanks! Amy, who is the manager, was so good to work with. She was always available to speak with and would immediately follow up on any questions or concerns we had. She encouraged us to use UHaul if we needed to move anything and offered us to return at any time if we needed storage. The staff that that I greeted upon arrival could have been more helpful. I became very agitated that none of the people at the desk were willing to get up and show me where my unit was. They just pointed, go that way and gestured with their hand. At that juncture, employee Derrick came into the store, I asked him if he could help. He walked me to the storage area, showed me my specific unit and demonstrated per the pen pad how to access entry. I think that it would be helpful that personnel understand that first impressions are lasting ones. The first person the customer meets and their willingness to assist is usually the most memorable of the experience. Overall, I would definitely use Maple shade's U-Haul business! Our unit was in the annex. The overall appearance because of the floors seemed dirty. An epoxy coating, or at least a coat of floor paint would help a lot. There sometimes were no carts available, even scouring the building. This made things difficult. Overall, the staff was friendly - especially the manager Amy. I tried calling the location on several occasions which is located on King's Highway , Maple Shade , N J. My call was rerouted to a gentleman in Ohio. He said he could secure my reservation and answered a few of my questions. He too ( Like the voicemail states ) assured me my first month's rent was free! Upon arrival, Amy listed stipulations for the free month concerning the truck.....I told the gentleman in the am I only needed the truck to transport several items 5 minutes away. Still guaranteed my first month would be free......Well , she refused to honor this. After this , she then said she had to secure my card in the amount of $ 100 when I used a debit card and the fee was $ 39 something, the rest would be credited back......MADE NO SENSE EITHER......We return the truck and a very lethargic girl is sitting very low to the ground texting on her phone. No friendliness or eye contact. This has been a horrible experience all the way around. My unit is in an unmarked building next to your main building that has appropriate signs. I had to go in and the rep walked me all the way to the building. While I did sincerely appreciate her assistance, that was a bit too difficult. I guess the building is new. Secondly, although there is a security door with a code, a second entry is required just ten feet from the first one. Why? Thirdly, there was a totally unlocked door 75 feet away that any stranger could access. While I believe an alarm would sound if a unit was opened without a code being entered at the main door, what about someone who is more interested in vandalism?DANIEL V. | Online Move In

Consistent failure to charge at times due even though on automatic payment and resulting fraudulent charging of late payment fees. Had to challenge each and every month. Staff are disinterested and incompetent.. Facility had no a/c and no lighting for a good portion of the hot summer months. Amy is awesome. She spent all the time that was needed in order to answer my questions and bring up some points that I did not think of. In addition she helped me with an issue that I was having with my pool water. There was another gentlemen there, who name escapes me, but between the two of them they made one of the more stressful time is my life (moving) more pleasant . Place is very clean, they are very helpful and take pride in their work. I thank them and commend them for that. Great job to the both of you, and if there were more folks out there like you, taking pride in your work and genuine concern for your fellow man the world would be a much nicer place to live. Staff did not set me up for auto-bill when I registered despite my agreement when offered. Email rent reminders state "If you are set up on autopay your bill will automatically be paid." so I assumed no action was needed but a late fee was charged. Manager Amy Lucas was initially very responsive via email indicating "I will take care of this right away" 7/16 however my $45,89 credit was never received and follow-up emails on 8/8 went unanswered. I was very disappointed by the inconvenience of having gone to pick up my truck only at that time to find out that they did not have trucks for one-way journeys and that I would have to go to another facility that was 30 minutes away. I believe this solution was non-negotiable and unacceptable, however, having no choice, I did travel out of my way to pick up the truck. Had a minor setback that the team resolved. Reserved my unit on July 8, 2021. When I went to secure the storage unit, I was told they had none available. The issue appears that the local store and the reservation online do not communicate with each other so well. Thankfully the local store was able secure a unit for me. Facilities are clean, the people were nice. BIGGEST FLAW IS ACCESS HOURS. i spent 4 hours driving to my storage location, and upon arrival (10:30 pm) i cannot get the door to open. i call several times with no answer. i call the national line and i'm on hold for 30 more minutes. they tell me there's nothing they can do. i check my email, it CLEARLY STATES: "24 hour access to your belongings", but they lock the doors at 10??? what kind of madness is this…Isaiah L. | Premières impressions
