Notify customer if additional equipment which was ordered on line, is not available. I ordered a furniture dolly with the truck rental and it was not available at pick up. It would help to know that prior to pick up. Poor customer service at desk.JEFFREY W.

Hello. I'm reaching out to you today concerning contract 267809956 where I rented a truck on June 10, 2021 to be returned by 6:45pm June 11, 2021. I have a couple of concerns and am unhappy in a few areas. First I am a senior citizen who lives alone and moved due to needing to downsize and cut living expenses.Â Due to my help being four (4) hours late arriving because of personal problems of their own we were late getting the truck loaded and by the time it was loaded it was rush hour on Friday. I called the rental office to explain the situation and stated that I would be late returning the truck but would return it the same night and would try to get there by closing time. The woman that took the call said she would put down that I would be there by 8pm or maybe it would be after hours. She also said that the system was charging me for another day but she would transfer me to customer service to see if they could waive the extraÂ charge. After being on hold waiting for about 30 minutes for the rental office I was transferred to customer service where I waited around another 45 minutes. Customer service informed me that she couldn't waive the fee and that I would have to pay for an additional 24 hours. I let her know that if I was going to be charged for another full day then I would just take my time and keep the truck the full 24 hours I was being charged. The rep informed me that I couldn't keep the truck for another 24 hours because another family needed it the next morning at 8:am. I insisted that if Iwas going to have to pay for the full 24 hours I should be allowed to keep it 24 hours since that was what I was being charged for. She placed me on hold and contacted the rental location. When she came back on the line I was informed that I would have until 7:45pm to return the truck at no additional charge but if I wasn't there by that time I would be charged the full 24 hours- though they were renting the truck out the next morning so in essence I would be paying for time for a truck and at the same time some one else would also be paying for the same truck. When I arrived at the new location the leasing agent who had not given me the keys to the apartment delayed me further which cost me valuable time trying to get the truck back by 7:45pm. On the way back to return the truck I was further delayed due to night time road construction. After all of this not only was I billed for the full 24 hours for the truck but also for another full day of insurance. Though none of my delays were the fault of U-haul ( whom I alway use when moving or need storage), I feel that U-haul taken advantage of the situationÂ and charged for the full day even though U-haul was not losing one dime and it was closed and was not going to rent the truck until they opened the next morning- the truck was sitting on the lot all night just as it would have if I had made the return at closing time. Since I wanted to keep the truck for the full 24 hour that I was being charged extra and was told I couldn't because it was to go to another customer I feel I should not have been billed for the full 24 hours nor for the extra day for insurance. Lastly, I took the toll road going north on I294 from Oak Forest, IL to Waukegan, IL on Friday June 11, 2021 and there were no attendees to collect the tolls. I tried to find the tolls online last night so that I could pay them but the license plate number (AE 87643) for the truck I used but it didn't come up. I would like to get this taken care of before it becomes a violation and U-haul charges me more extra fee. What should I do?Thabit S.

I had a great experience and the personal was very helpful! Maybe there is something to but I didn't see it ! Of course, the returning area for the trucks is way too small when there is one truck returned another truck can't be lined up because then it turns into blockage for customers entering the parking lot! 0,99c a mile is craziness, also the cardboard that was in the window, there were no instruction in the return instructions on what to do with it. Throw it out or save? its currently in my trunk bc I did not want to throw it out and then be charged for it later.Westley S.

You need to do something for this current customer named Seth Eller. You charged me way too much. I used the truck and returned it and my gas charges amounted to 70 $?!?!?!?!?! Is that a joke?!?!?! I could have put it where it was for 20 $..... I'll take a 20 $charge for gas. And a cleaning fee was NOT at all necessary. You need to refund the gas fee and the cleaning feeSeth E.

Reworking the return instructions. Instead of mentioning the steps on how to return the truck without an account on the first page, you should create a separate button for â€œreturn without an accountâ€ or â€œreturn with your accountâ€. This caused problems with returning the order as we were unable to send photos since we returned the keys prior to pressing continue to go onto the next steps because of the steps that were already listed on that page. It caused hours of arguing until we were finally refunded the extra charges we should not have been given.Hector P.

It took some time to get everything lined up, but as it was a Sunday and the computers were running slow it was to be expected. Hire people with more knowledge. The older gentleman took one look at the date on my temp drivers license that was dated 1/19 which it was 1/19 and said I can't rent you a truck because your license is expired. I called another Uhaul and they said they could it don't expire til midnight. Really upsetTREMAYNE W.

Customers that purchase insurance should be able to utilize emergency road assistance. Upon purchasing insurance staff need to thoroughly explain the different insurance UHaul offer to the customers. For example, if a customer get stuck in snow UHaul would come to their customer rescue and dig them out.Not leave the customer waiting to get rescued by someone other than UHaul. Staff need extensive customer service training in-store and roadside assistance.Staff from roadside assistance was very obnoxious ,rude and disrespectful. As a loyal customer that depends on UHaul to meet my needs, after this incident I have to find other places that will respect their customers and ensure they're meeting their customer needs /expectations.PEARLIE B.

Upon return the truck, the employee said our charge was 213 $. And she told me that because I went over my 5-hour rental by 2 hours that it became a 2 day rental. I said no, I called and asked if we could add two hours and the other lady said we could and said nothing about any additional changes. Then the employee said the daily charge, because it was the weekend was 39 $and I said no, I booked this online and the fee was 29 $+ mileage! Finally she got the bill down to 163 $(approx). I don't know what was going on, but I shouldn't have had to go through that.MICHAEL B.

I live close to your Parkfroest IL. center and they had no puck up trucks I ask if they could call and fine out which center have one and they said they would have to call all the center around so they didn't call so I had to call, I call a center in Chicago Heights IL. and they didnt , I call Glenwood IL. there they told me to try Markham call them they had one so I went to 159 street wrong U Haul it the one on167 st. Markham finally got This TRUCK really save me because my truck and trailer was broke down on the road I had about 10.000.00 wroth of work equipment I was able to get my equipment home and have the truck towed. I was a mechanic for 8 years fir U haul the one in Park forest , Thank You U HaulJESSE H.
I called a location 1,5 miles from home who said they had a truck but I needed to rent online for Sunday 8a. At 5:40p Saturday night, I got a call saying the closest truck was 20 miles away and they didn't open until 9a. At 79 cents a mile, this cost us an additional 32,00 $ and our moving crew was paid an hour to stand around waiting! When we got the truck, it had so many flies inside and an overwhelming cigarette smell. Penske rentals at Home Depot is 3 miles away and I couldve picked that truck up just as easy. UHaul cost us time, money, frustration, and guess what? You guys didnt care or make it right for us. Do you think I wont be telling everyone who will listen what you've done?suzette S.

Vernita is horrible with customer care. The stores policy on emergency contact HAVING TO ANSWER is absolute dog shit. They won't let us rent a vehicle without the person answering. So stupid and waste of time. She sucks ass with customer care. Asked to see policy and was deferred from it. I know nothing will change but this is the ONLY uhaul location that had done that. Input in a claim because of roaches were in the adjacent unit and my claim was denied . I also took everything out of my storage unit but 2 items and I told them I wasn't working and I was still being charged. The staff at U-Haul was okay. I give it an average rating because the key cards don't last very long and I got tired of purchasing key entry cards. Sometimes the key cards would not work on the entry gate but would still work for the indoor storage entry doors. In the end I found the same size 10X10 interior storage unit for 50 $cheaper with 3,00 $0 worth of insurance included. For this reason I would have to recommend friends and family to my new storage provider. Aside from that I did enjoy my stay with U-Haul and I wish you all the best.Daryl C. | Expérience générale
