I called this specific location to make sure they could deliver our uboxes to our new address. Before ordering them for our move. They said yes. Come time for delivery.. I call to have them delivered and the representative on the phone tells me they can't deliver to our location, even though someone else in this store told me they could just a few weeks before. Then I was told I would have to pick them up with a truck that could haul the weight of the trailer the Ubox was on. I was also told to give them a few hours heads up so they could get things ready. Ok, total drag but we rallied and secured a truck. Call them less then a week later to let them know we will be picking up the boxes that day in a few hours. A different representative in the same location tells me, not only have they ran out of trailers but that I would have to make a reservation at least 24 hours or more in advance to get my uboxes..sometimes up to a week in advance. I asked to speak to the manager because of all the conflicting information I was getting from this store. Travis, nice person was apologetic but Offered nothing else, no problem solving or solutions. I shared with him the inconsistencies In information I was getting from the different employees, again apologetic but that's it.. My husband had to literally brainstorm how to solve the situation, which was he had to rent a 15 ft U-Haul truck to be able to then pull the only double trailer they had available for the next day. We had to make three trips to the location and the person who loaded up the boxes was so slow that it took twice as long as it should have. Long story short… our experience with using uboxes in central California was fantastic, streamlined and no problems when it came to them delivering them and then picking them up for transport to the Mckinkeyville location. However As soon as we tried to work with the Mckinkeyville location with our uboxes it has been one problem and inconsistency after another. The whole reason we spent thousands of dollars was to be able to have this be a streamlined process and have them deliver these boxes to our new home. We will never use the ubox service from This location again. Not only has this had a big financial impact on us, but took a whole day away from three people, that could have been with their families, to help us out of this mess.. I know U-Haul records all conversations… I really hope someone from quality control can find these recorded phone calls, listen themselves to the inconsistencies given to me, and prevent this from happening to anyone in the future.

Truck was a lil dirty.

First off they did not have the equipment that was reserved. I told them that they needed to find it and they said no one had what we needed. After almost an hour they finally found a place that had the appliance dolly that we needed. I had to drive 15 miles to get it and then back to where the truck was. Then I had to return it back to where I got it or I wold have been charged extra to return it with the truck, which resulted in almost an additional 69 miles for something that was guaranteed!! The person at the location ( original) just kept acting like there was nothing he could do!! Really bad customer service. I would not have been able to do my move without that equipment and was guaranteed when I made the reservation. The second problem occurred on the return of the truck. According to the paperwork and the gauge on the truck we only needed to put in 4,8 gallons of gas to bring it up to where it was when we picked up the truck. We put in 5,05 gallons just to be sure. When we dropped it off, the person checking us in said that we were low. When we explained to him what we did his response was, “well sometimes these gages can look a little off and it's not really centered so it still low and I have to charge you”! I asked to speak to the manager and he said he was the one there! Again, this level of service is unaccessible. I have never experienced such lack of customer service and unprofessional service. I wish to be contacted by a representative to clear this matter up! ** after writing this I realized that this location is where I picked up the appliance and they were fine and very professional. The above review is for location on jacobs road in Eureka. I never got a text to review them.

The McKinleyville UHaul store is absolutely wonderful. The facility is well stocked and very clean. The employees are kind, helpful and knowledgeable. Our medical non-profit truck broke down and we needed 2 big storage boxes asap to empty the truck for repair . This crew (Travis) made our “emergency” manageable! We quickly and easily rented our boxes. Thankfully they had reasonably priced locks for us to purchase. We got our truck fixed, made appointment to transfer everything back into our truck. This process could have really been stressful. But not at UHaul! We are very grateful for the professionalism and kindness extended to us during our time of need. We will continue to be happy customers of UHaul for all our future rentals.

Our non profit medical group had an unexpected truck breakdown. We were in need of quick temporary storage. Travis at the McKinnleyville UHall was an absolute pleasure. The van was ready for pickup upon arrival which was great, but when I went to return it, I had to wait roughly 25 minutes for an employee to show up at the front desk.

I rented a cargo van on a Friday before a holiday. It was quiet, I was helped right away, and by someone who knew what they were doing. No complaints here. I so appreciate that they were open, it really helped me.

We're preparing for a cross country move and this store, and its employees, have been exceptional. The manager has been available to answer all of my questions. I never feel like I leave the store without the information I need to sleep well at night with such a big move coming up. They're still preparing to open the store in its entirety, but the staff is doing all they can to deliver a top-flight customer experience!
