Not happy. I was told I had to pay about an additional $160 or so for going over the mileage. Capital One says I was charged $496.39. Was not told about any other charges!

I was charged more than what I was quoted at drop off for going over the mileage as a result of having to reroute my trip due to storms. I was told I would be charged about $160 more for mileage overrun. I saw on my card statement you guys banged me for an additional $469.39 which was never reviewed or discussed with me at the return facility. That money is put on hold through Capital One. Disappointing. I will use another truck rental company in the future.

I reserved a 10’ truck on the Uhaul app and when I arrived to pick up the truck, there were no 10’ trucks at this location. It took over 1 1/2 hours to get customer service to resolve the problem. The only solution was to rent a 15’ truck. They would not rent this truck for the same price as the 10’ truck that I reserved so I had to pay more per mile and spend more for gas for this larger truck. I am very dissatisfied with U-Haul. I have rented numerous times from this location, but I will be going elsewhere from now on!

When I returned the truck after hours I tried to use the online truck return with my smartphone. The site basically refused to let me complete the return. It kept auto-refreshing & starting over, it lost my location multiple times as I walked around the truck taking the necessary photos, and it also wouldn't accept the photos I took sometimes (not because of the photo time limit). All these things happened about a year ago as well when I returned a U-Haul truck in a different city. So it seems that the site needs to be improved for smartphones. It was extremely frustrating to think that I'd get in trouble or charged extra simply because the website prevented me from properly returning my rented truck even though I was going through the steps correctly. Thankfully the employee I called & talked to the next morning basically said "The site does that sometimes." and didn't charge me extra, so that was a big relief. I'll rent from U-Haul again in the future, but I'm not looking forward to dealing with the return website malfunctioning for the 3rd time.

Your reservation line said there's no comment about the location allowing/not allowing parking of povs for customers. I'd make sure there's parking for customers, especially those like me who rent equipment for small blocks of time.

I very much enjoyed James at the service counter. The cargo van was very nice,however I didn’t like the final bill. And wasn’t well explained to me .I probably won’t rent with U Haul again!

Truck TT4306D needs inside of windshield to be cleaned as it was hazy. Also the truck steering wheel was off, possibly needing a wheel alignment. Overall the truck was swept out and in acceptable condition. To better my experience with U Haul I think pricing should be reevaluated to closely match what is advertised. Also the new advertised pricing should include insurance. This way if I have a in town run and need a truck I can make a better informed financial decision.This includes rather I should rent a truck and move things myself or just pay for delivery. Either way I shouldn't be fooled by low advertised pricing. Nothing is more irritating than to see one price, then have to pay another price that is significantly higher.

The location is convenient and is average. The personnel were adequate but overwhelmed when there was more than one customer. The truck I got was dirty, smelled like cigarettes, wandered all over the road and was a gas hog. I did not feel safe driving over 60 mph. There was no cruise control and the seats were very uncomfortable. The Ford trucks I've rented before seemed much better than this GMC.

Make it clear that going over the allotted mileage results in a different rate. Also, the key drop-off box should be by the entrance like it is everywhere else, although I appreciate having the manager's # posted on the door; I had to use it to find the box.

The van was dirty at pick up. The representative handed me the keys and told me where to find the van. I ordered furniture pads and a utility dolly. I drove away and had to turn around after realizing they were not in the van. When I told the representative of the missing items he carried out the furniture pads and instructed me to grab the furniture dolly which I loaded into the van. I rented the van for 24 hours. We got done with the project early. My son cleaned out the van out, gased it up, and dropped off the van at 5 am. We figured it would be good of us to return the van early so it could be Rented. In reviewing my bill, a $20.00 after hours drop off fee was added. I have Never been charged an after hours drop off fee and frequently rent from U-Haul. I usually rent from the Pine Island location which has had superior service. I will not rent from the Merrillville location again.
