Over all our experience with Uhaul storage was positive. The only complaint I would have is that it was difficult to get into the entrance of the storage building due to multiple uhaul trucks and trailers as well as non uhaul vehicles blocking the entrance making loading and unloading difficult.JOHNATHAN D. | Expérience générale

Tonyetta and the ither staff member,whose name i dont know but they both had phenomenal personalities. They both were very professional upon me entering the store. Tonyetta was having some difficulties with the computer crashing yet she didn't let me leave before putting forth a great effort into trying to rectify the problem so that I wouldn't have to make a return trip. The gentleman that runs that facility for my understanding the retired Marine was extremely rude. The location was wrong dropping the truck off due to the GPS and he literally called my home and cursed me and my husband out for absolutely no reason. Watch how you speak around customer, do not use swear words. Fix the drop key box so customers don't have to wait 1,5 hours after hours calling the help desk wondering what to do with keys so they don't get stolen. Look at the customers contract for updates if you are unsure of where the keys, not calling early demanding keys when they are in possession.christina G.

Everyone at the facility is friendly, helpful and goes above and beyond to help you. The only downside is that there are roaches in the units but that's not in their control, as they're everywhere in the area. The ladies at this U-haul location were, simply put, God sent... They went above and beyond in every way possible.. I didn't just rent a truck..I now have these women in my life because once you spend anytime at all around them you want to keep them in your heart forever...some may find this "rating" a bit much..I don't care..if anything the actual experience was even better than I said..meet them..talk to them...you will love them, I promise youValli K.

Employees are cool, but seem to be very young and place around too much! Workers brining their dogs on the location is unacceptable. The guys were super helpful. But overall, not serious people. The people who had the truck I was given had roaches and they were in the truck (I had the pics and videos) and got into my new apartment. Truck was not properly cleaned, as roaches were even coming onto the floor board of the back of the truck when I was talking to the employees at the last location. I have filed a complaint and will be following up this coming week for resolution! Very very disgusting!!Jamal C.

I went into the Jacksonville, NC location to rent a car dolly. Had kind of an emergency when the wife's van broke down 60 miles away. The guys here had me checked out and on my way inside of 15 minutes. They're very helpful and have a streamlined process for checking in/out. I brought the dolly back,unhooked it and they checked it back in in no time. All around great service.Brandon T.

Quick seamless installation. Only thing that could be improved is that my wiring was done in a way that it doesn't come through my bumper to hook up to a trailer. The tech told my husband not to put it out the back hatch of the car and close the hatch, which would cause a pinch, but it's in my trunk? How are we supposed to use it then? We saw a video of an install for a Subaru Ascent and where the wiring should be accessed, and it seems ours was just sort of put in without the time to be able to use it. We are going to bring it back to see if they can fix this. Happy w/ the work, just confused about the wiring situation.Sarah E.

I don't believe it was any fault of Uhaul of New River, but the truck I was given had very clearly not had a front end alignment in quite some time. It was bad enough that the front tires wore through to the cords on the inner edge and had to be replaced halfway through the trip. Had I not been checking the tires at every stop, this could've had disastrous consequences.James G.

We reserved a 26' truck with a 2-wheeler. When I got there the 26' wasn't available and they had no 2-wheelers. What's the purpose of a reservation??? I had to settle for a 20' truck with no dolly at all. This resulted in more work and in our making two trips instead of one. Thankfully!...the employee gave us a discount so the price worked out about the same for mileage and a little cheaper for the truck. The employees did a fine job but I still don't understand the purpose of reservations if you don't actually reserve the equipment.William E.

I'm really disappointed in my reservation and with the whole experience. I find it hard to understand why I had so many issues with getting what should have been a couple hour job done. Not only did I loose money by driving my rental truck to two other locations to pick a dolly, but I also lost out on hours working at my job. I think better management and customer service training needs to be priority for the U Haul employees that were part of the issues I faced.Marquice W.

Price increase was not helpful at all. They repeatedly charged my card after I repeatedly told them not to. These fraudulent attempts to access my account forced my bank to freeze my account specifically for fraud. It took a week to get a new card and unlock my accounts. I was giving the wrong storage space after I set up reservations with uhaul in Columbia SC. When I arrived at 425 s Marine blvd the staff was very friendly and try to do their best to accommodate me.i travel five hours to get my items and get there and have no room to store it.it has costed me more money with the inconvenience that u-haul has caused the unit that I'm in now I can't afford to keep it there now I have to borrow money to get it out.i have had a bad experience with the company I wouldn't recommend no one .SHELIA W. | Premières impressions

The employees were doing a great job cleaning the units that were empty. However. We now have water bugs or roaches. I realize this is a potential consequence when units are rented by so many people and some one told me they like the glue used in boxes. Bethany Romans claimed a glitch in the system moved me out of my brand new unit that she gave May 27th 2021 and my original unit 1375, which is why I wasn't getting rent due notices for unit 1386. She did not know where my things were so for two months I was dealing with the idea that uhaul lost, stole, or sold my things. Someone else's name was put onto my unit yet no payments were made. Ridiculous! I was lucky I took pictures and documented everything to prove it was my things in the unit. As Bethany was fixing HER mistake I and my emergency contact started to receive nasty threatening late notices. I also received an absolutely devastating and threatening lien and sale notice that sent me into a panic attack. I am a rape and abusive victim, my children dealt with abuse as well from their father. We were literally running away from him and trusting uhaul to house our things during this incredibly difficult time. Instead uhaul made me experience anxiety, stress, fear, and panic. I had to drop all of my life and plans and a lot of money, to spontaneously drive from Michigan to North Carolina to retrieve my things as I did not feel they were safe any longer. When I arrived I was able to use the new keys Bethany fedex to me to unlock one lock. But there was a second lock with black tape on it, essentially uhaul holding my things hostage. I had to inform the staff yet again of the situation but they could not find the keys to that lock and had to manually remove the entire lock mechanism from the unit door. So that I could take my things. I absolutely refused to pay anything more and had to say I will call the cops or fire department to cut the lock off. All of this took even more time out of the important things I had to and while there I was shaking in fear that my ex abusive husband would show up and get me. Also during the two months my things were missing uhaul was absolutely impossible to get a hold of. I could never get the actual store on the phone and wait times were hours long. The whole company is a joke and we, my friends family and anyone that will listen to me, will never use them again. Call me, Grace, 5178972146 for more explanation and to hear the devastating impact this experience has had on my life. I believe Bethany Romans should be fired for her incompetence in this situation. I got nothing but a hard time. They did not have the storage unit I reserved, so they said they would give me a larger unit for a discounted price, then told me I could not get 30 days free because they cant discount a unit and provide 30 days free and gave me a hard time. I have used this moving and storage several times why because of the employee's especially Jennifer she always found time to make sure my truck rental,my unit were always perfect! But most of all I liked about her is she never forgot my name or my situation see my son was shot in the head and thank God he survived but she wouldn't see me for months but always asked how he was doing now if that ain't employee that goes above and beyond I don't no what is! Everyone was very friendly and the place was clean and convenient. I did get incorrect information, was told I would get a month free when asking about the prices and when I came back to rent was told that was only for one way rentals. The sales person also rented me a van for the day and so knew I was not a one-way rental. It would have been good to have been given a discount bc if this mistake since it factored into me choosing to use the storage. Also was not told that I could only access storage unit during business hours. I found this out when I was there selling something from the unit and the employee came to tell me they were closing and I would not have access. This would have been useful to know up front.
