Marlan R | Premières impressionsCustomer service sucked. I dropped my car off at 7 am. Told it would be done by end of day. Arrived at 6:50 and it was not ready. Stood around for 25 minutes waiting for him to finish. When I stated my car was to be ready by end of day. He told me "it has been ready for a long time." So why am I still waiting. Not once did he apologize to me. I just got excuses. I paid over $400 for this service. I am a paying customer and I deserve to be treated with respect. I did not catch the guys name but I was at Oshkosh West(WI) on April 13,2024

He was muscle only so rather than starting a new I had friends help me straighten things out and I have yet to get anything into your storage facility, OK

The only complaint we have is that we were upgraded to a larger truck without a charge but we did not want the upgrade. That process seemed like a challenge to reverse. The Uhaul company needed to get the larger truck to Fitchburg. We did not feel that this was our problem. We were under a time crunch so we took the larger truck. My husband wasn't happy with the larger truck as it was more difficult to manuever and it was not requested. We felt like we were being inconvenienced so the next customer wasn't. We used more fuel with the larger truck and didn't feel that was fair, as we didn't request it. We reserved the truck in Fond du Lac, had to drive to Oshkosh only to get a truck we didn't reserve.
Lucy MKenneth was very polite, professional, and courteous. The truck was very clean. Rental pick up and return process was easy.
Kim GRented a truck that broke down close to home. The roadside assistant was quick and painless. The store replaced the truck quickly. The store staff were fantastic, as was the roadside assistance call center. Well done.

David S | Expérience généraleWilliam did a fantastic job of installing my hitch, I actually said it was beautiful when I saw it-very neatly installed, looks like it belongs on that car. My only suggestion is that no matter what time I go to U Haul, I end up waiting in line for 20 minutes, even when it was just to drop off my car. There is always a line, and it seems like there is always just one person working there. This is my only hesitance in using U Haul.

Jamie EThe lighting wasn't installed on my hitch and I paid over $600 to have it installed. I had to drive without lighting on the trailer because nobody was there to fix it and we were moving that morning. The trailer didn't have a lock so anybody could break in and the chains and wires collapsed and dragged on the floor while I was driving.
Jessie MI rented a furniture dolly for the day and turned it back in roughly two hours later. Got a phone call yesterday from an employee asking if I returned the equipment. The equipment was in fact turned in the same day I rented it. I am pretty sure if the employee wouldn't have been smoking dope and did their job correctly the equipment would have been documented as being returned. She even asked if I wanted a receipt the same day I turned it in and something told me I should have got the receipt but I didn't because I trusted that the employee would have processed the equipment being returned in the computer.

Douglas FI rented a 9 ft cargo van for 1:30 pm on Thursday the 11th. I got there to pick it up and the attendant was kind of out of it, he was looking at his phone just sitting there, he did say hi to me when I walked in, but I couldn't see him sitting behind the counter and he didn't stand up. He started the pick up process with me, after he gave me the receipts he said he hoped he could find the keys for the van. He looked all over, then said just a minute, he proceeded to call someone on the phone and asked if his coat was at home could they check if he had a bunch of keys in the pocket, could she bring the to him and said I will see you soon and hung up with her. I assumed that meant I had to wait for someone to bring him keys, he started looking around again for them again?? His phone started ring, it was the person he called and apparently there weren't any keys. He told me the pickup was the same price as the cargo van. I said I was picking up a chair and really needed a van. I had just snowed that morning and the roads were quite wet, didn't want to get the chair all wet from road spray. He keeps search for the keys. He offered no other option, I told him I would consider the pickup but asked if he could give me a few blankets to wrap it. He said he could. Okay I said. He re did the paper work. I asked how long they were open that evening for dropping it off, he asked me what day it was and gave me the times??? Really dude? He said there you go. I asked were the truck was and he pointed out front, I said where, and I said what about the blankets, oh yeah! I followed him to get them, he hand them to me and showed me the truck. I said there is snow in the back! He looked and said oh, he got a broom and swept it out. I wasn't sure this was going work but I left. When I picked up the chair and wrapped it with blankets and laid it down in the back, it was still pretty wet from the snow and ice. I doubled the blankets but the still ended up getting the chair wet, by the time I reached home. I also had to stop at a gas station and purchase bungee cords for 17 to hold the blankets on the chair because while I was driving they were flying off of it. So needless to say the whole experience was not good. I didn't get what I ordered the pickup was wet and messy in the back and didn't work very well because the chair ended up getting wet. I have rented from U-Haul many times and have never had such a disorganized experience. I wouldn't be happy if I had an employee that can't keep track of keys for vehicles, takes them home even??? sitting on their but looking at their phone, when I assume there are things to, because there were trucks in the return area and he was the only one working. Unprofessional is not what I'm use to at U-Haul!!!

Michael MI booked this Uhaul with my local dealer in Wautoma, WI. The day before I was to pick it up, a Uhaul rep called and told me I had to pick it up in Oshkosh, WI, 50 miles from our house.
Thomas BUnable to give you any feedback about place, truck and location I would like to say, I rented this vehicle for a friend and I provided all required credit card information, driver's license number, and yet, friend was charged. Not very exemplary.

Paul S | Expérience généraleI asked when I scheduled my hitch if they were able to do it. My vehicle is a specialized vehicle and I had already been denied by another install company. UHaul rep on the phone when I scheduled, said YES, no problem! It was all downhill from there. The hitch is installed but none of the wiring because it has to be programmed. So, now I have to find somewhere to get the wiring installed. I need to tow something in 3 days out of state, so that is why I am writing this review because it looks like that is not going to happen. Oh....and I was going to rent a trailer from UHaul...but you cant rent if your lights dont work....hmmmm I will add that the staff in-person, from the manager on down were great people. I just wish that the rep I called would have been more informed.

John OThe facility is great. However, the facility log-in process is not well signed and difficult to initially to understand. I had never used U-Haul storage before. Customers should receive written or PAPER handout or video or text, or email which explains EXACTLY how check-in & out. The handout should have PICTURES of the facility's exterior key pad and interior key pads and explain how to use them. I set off alarms multiple times because I couldn't find the swipe/keypad inside and didn't understand how to use it. The location office phone is not staffed. There is no human to contact for specific questions about the location, policies, or for immediate assistance.

The first was a young lady that helped me resolve an issue that resulted in my storage unit being arbitrarily closed without notice--to be clear, this was a computer issue, not something someone did. After getting this resolved, I went to my unit. Once there, I found that there was a company lock on my unit so that I could not access it. When I went back to the office, the young lady I spoke to before was not there, but an older gentleman was there. When I told him that I needed to get a red lock removed from my unit, he responded in an extremely demeaning, condescending tone with the words, "Did you pay?" Not once during this conversation did he alter his tone or demeanor once he learned the truth of the situation, nor was there an apology. I strongly encourage everyone to not deal with an older gentleman at this location (whom I think goes by the name "Doc", I head an older lady that works there say), as he will not be professional and treat you with a minimum of respect a customer deserves.

Our last month was up on December 29th, didn't plan on renewing it since we had moved into our home already. We had planned to come back on the 28th to close everything out, however I had fallen, torn my ACL and was unable to get back to Oshkosh. I chatted with the online folks and let them know what was going on, he said he'd put a note on the account. A few days later we were charged next months rent and a late fee. So 2nd week in January now, I was able to get back to the unit ti close it out. Spoke with Cash and he saw the jot on our account and closed everything out for us and removed the month charge and late fee. He really made it so easy and hassle free! The facility was always clean and easily accessible. I had to go in there once with my 3 small kids with me and I had no issues.

Should be able to fall back on policy and explain it without treating customers poorly. After witnessing another customer try to figure out how to take furniture in-and-out of a single door while having to hold it open, reported the sliding door wouldn't open. Received a snarky reply of, That's because I forgot to switch it from night to day. It's OK forget a step, but it's not OK to treat customers with rudeness when they report it.

And when I repeated the instructions to make sure I had it correct as far as using the card and such it was as if I was wasting his time! We tried for well over 40 minutes trying to gain access with the card to finally be told it may take 30 minutes or longer to get activated and that we "may need to come back tomorrow "!!!!! We had unloaded 2 trucks already and live 2 hours from the storage unit! Eventually called the man in the store as he was closing at 7pm and he said computers are slow come back tomorrow. I then asked if he had a key to help us enter and he had no response. Then I said if we enter the unit alarms will sound ….and he replied" yep nothing I can do about that". At that point we were fed up with the attitude of this man so we entered the unit , alarms sounded and he eventually turned them off. Not a pleasurable experience. Well kept and clean within but the customer service lacks much attention to detail!

Perhaps a video on the entire process from picking up the truck to dropping it off to getting into the storage facility would be helpful. When I am moving I have a lot of helpers just waiting so getting checked in as fast as possible values all of their time.

Diane K | Expérience généraleI had two problems when I moved in. When I arrived at the location, the unit I was assigned was already rented out. I spoke with the employee ( very kind and helpful) she did help me out by assigning me a different one. However, when I went back for a second trip, my code didn't work and couldn't get into the building. I live on the other side of the city and it was a wasted trip for me. I went back the next day and couldn't get into the building at all. I went to speak with the employee (very kind and professional) and she ended up giving me a access card and explained how it works and how to get in. I also found I needed a larger unit and she was able to find me the new unit and made the process painless.

This is such a major drawback I almost canceled the whole thing. The person I initially talked to led me to believe I would be able to get multiple cards. I cannot understate how irritating this is. I'm paying for the unit I feel I should be allowed multiple cards to give access to whoever I want. Even hotels give multiple cards. Please fix this.

So I wouldn't lose my stuff, well I did, and supposedly it was auctioned off for $5?,?? Are you serious? I have no winter clothes, no winter coat, boots, furniture, nothing!!! All because your employees do not do their jobs. They were contacted numerous times for a payment plan, and they still stoled 6 decades of belongings for supposedly $5.00. I have put this publicly all over as well as newspapers and TV news. What they did was so wrong, especially to a old disabled woman who had covid 2 months and almost died. Everyone will hear my story, and what oshkosh uhaul did to me!! Manager Doc is a joke, as I know he received my families messages that I was in ICU!!! Very poor business and I will be obtaining an attorney and suing for not being able to retrieve my stuff as I was promised.
