Only one employee on site. Processing orders at register, answering phone, doing trailer hook-up. Long wait time in line.
james J.Drove 89 miles put in 35$ gas was charged another 3 gallons for an extra $12 by your company ,check engine light was on, truck was not cleaned off of snow when picked up and had a reservation,back door was not working properly ,radio not working properly. Truck did not shift properly.Pobably will not use U-Haul again very unsatisfied

I also had to wat for over an hour to get the vehicle and was told I was going to be discounted on my mileage for the inconvenience which was awesome but I was charged more than the original amount and was told they had no recollection of the discount being offered. I was able to get my job done but I had to borrow money to pay it off. I will NOT be doing this again.

Because of a storm we couldn't get our stuff out before the end of the cycle. We got everything out within a week but the policy is we still had to pay for the full month. They do not prorate the time.

I will never rent from them again they need to retrain all there staff and get them on the he same page.

Joseph B.The staff was unpleasant and unknowledgeable. I rented a 6 foot wide trailer, got it home, and found it had a 4 foot wide gate and was unusable. Immediately brought it back, requested a refund, was told it would not be possible. Staff member attempted to unhitch the trailer from my truck and didn't know to unlock the ball first. This entire experience has convinced me to never use U Haul again for any reason.

Neil L.The truck reaked of cigarette smoke. Not sure if it was from a previous rental or an employee but it gave me a headache. As someone who has never smoked it was unacceptable. I seriously considered returning the truck to ask for another truck. If UHaul wants to ding me for $18 for going over mileage they should be charging people for smoking in their trucks. The only reason I selected "No" for the recommendation is UHaul charging me $18 for over mileage when I told them I was going to Gorham first and only dropping off @ Windham because it was the closest place to drop off. No more UHaul when I rent to move to Florida next year. Can't recommend UHaul!

He was rude and I was not very impressed, especially when I rent frequently. Other than that it was very good and I'll be renting again soon!
Marsha W.I had to change my plans and reservations a couple of times. The gentlemen that I dealt with on this day were more than professional and should get a great atta boy pat on the back. Even the owner of the business was very pleasant. The truck was extremely clean, And got great gas mileage. One small not so happy experience I have to mention though. I've had many back surgeries and my help was a disappointment to say the least, so I rented, what turned out to be an appliance dolly. Not a had truck. This dolly is not only heavy and cumbersome, the blade is way to short to move most things that you move when you do move. Honestly, how many appliances do we move anyways. A perfect stranger offered help with my washer, actually went home and got his appliance straps, and HOLY SMOKES, they should either have some ordinary hand trucks available. ( my storage unit had one, and unloading the truck was a snap using the normal hand truck.) I moved away and never used it. I'm grateful that I have experience loading trucks, because the dolly, was the last thing I loaded and 1st thing out. Yes, great place! Super customer service. The owner of this property should be very proud. I'm surely going to use them again. Minus the appliance dolly of course!

amanda B.First off when calling this location you didnt get thru to this location, you got an 800 number who knows where they were. Couldn't talk to anyone on site. The day I arrived at this location with a uhaul truck with my stuff, the guy knew Nothing about the one month free promo. He also didnt seem clear about my unit..where it was. Also when I first arrived No one in store area...took me awhile to hunt someone down that worked there. Also when I went back to get in my unit, and on move out day. Also another customer was in store before me looking for clerk to help them. Very frustrating to have to hunt some down. Again even tho the phone number seem to be for this location, impossible to get to speak to someone at that actual location. (Concerning) my one month free. Got it figured out eventually, just kind of a hassle.

I don't know if you do this on purpose, but when you advertise a closer location, then do the "bait and switch" where that person has to spend more time (and gas money) to always go to another location . That business model seems deceptive and intrinsically unfair.

That should have been communicated to me. The women there really had know interest in helping but tried to avoid the situation. That being said had to try and find storage last minute and cost me more money. I've worked customer service and I was floored by the service I got when in fact I would have gone out of my way to do everything I could to help the customer. Very disappointed. Not to mention nobody even tried to compensate me for the inconvenience.

They need two people on all morning. He was able to swap out one trailer with bad lights for another, which also turned out to have faulty wiring that flickered all the way to NH. But the staffer was a great person.
Alan H.Nothing to improve! The staff were VERY professional and assisted me to move 3 large furniture pieces when my son was exhausted and I needed help, there was NO hesitation from the staff. They even stayed with me to assist in getting my bike off the truck. They also were very welcoming to a newcomer to this area. I appreciate each one!! Give them a Raise please!!

APRIL H.Assistant manager was horrible. Not only was he disrespectful to me as the customer but to his coworker in front of me. On top of the attitude they charged me for the unit when I had reserved online and had a discount for a free month and was only supposed to pay 7,95 but got charged the full month fee. They told me they reversed it once they looked in their system and saw the reservation but now it has be withdrawn from my account not just on hold anymore. Would not ever deal with this place again.

THERON L.Made a reservation for a 15' truck for Belfast, then it was changed by U-Haul to Surry (an hours drive away) in a confirmation phone call. When my sister and father drove to Surry to pick up the 15' truck, they didn't have it. They had to drive another hour to Bangor for a smaller truck. I definitely would NOT recommend U-Haul to anyone after this experience...
Leonard P.I had difficulty with 2 things 1) finding someone to wait on me; and 2) getting them to follow through with agreements to have things in place. I had to drive an extra 30 miles round trip because my u- box wasn't ready one day and had to buy lunch for my family a second day because they had to call someone in to get my u-box after promisingly it would be ready to unload both times.

JOHN E. | Expérience généraleDrove 18 hours from North Carolina and got to the u-haul. The reservation with the customer service people on the phone apparently had been all sorts of messed up. The general manager over the other store across town as well as another gentleman both named Matthew were both very accommodating. They gave me another unit at the store down the road and hook me up on the price for the inconvenience. When I got there the one that they sent me to actually had a lock on it already but even the staff at the other location were amazing about jumping right on that and getting us into an open unit. Matthew at the desk was absolutely exceptional with communication and even apologize a few times like it was his own fault. I honestly wish I had employees like him. He thought with his heart and his mind and was definitely more customer-based than I've ever seen.

Due to this incredibly misleading system and the blatant lies in your confirmation email, I drove to with a U-Haul truckload of furniture to a storage unit that was not available. This put your wonderful customer service rep in a terrible position and ruined my day along with my opinion of your company. The customer service rep worked hard to find a solution for me. Your people deserve better. So do I.

Someone cut the catalytic converter off my passenger van. U-haul said they're not responsible because they don't rent parking spaces in their parking lot. If that is the case then why did U-haul rent me the spot and why did U-haul take money out of my account each month? My insurance is going up, I have to pay a $500 deductible and deal with the the garage and aggravation. It's not right nor fair. Joe Pike

I have a fatal disease called ALS and live in a house with a garage door opener to which I have a remote to and I also have 10 animals and Karen lied and said I was living there when I have a house and a garage remote and 10 animals. She even lied to the cops and lied that was attacking her and threatening her. What was I going to charge her with my walker. She wasted my time and gave me emotional distress and refused me a full refund and went too far. She will be hearing from my attorney and should be gravely ashamed of herself for the way she treated a dying person. Then to send me a letter in my email saying I hope u continue to use uhaul. What an insult. I've never had so much pain from a uhaul in my life and u have lost a continued customer since 2013. Will never use uhaul again.
