I do rent uHaul's at the very least once a week, sometimes two, and I've never seen ever been treated with more disrespect, and like that wasn't enough, upon returning the truck, they hit me with $120 cleaning fee for apparently there being some dust on the drivers cabin, which was there originally when I picked up the truck. I'm yet to speak to the manager to explain this situation, but based on how the other staff treated me, I doubt that she will be any more professional, but we'll see. Shame on uHaul for allowing such behavior by its employees!

I'm told will have same rigamarole even with and account. The mobile is not a secure device for transmitting photos of driver's lic. or other. If checking in online, or become a member, nobody should have to give the same info over, and over, and over. Very time consuming and annoying. Not a plus.

Andrei T.None, the staff managed to get me a van on the 1st even when I didn't have an appointment and we're flexible with me on getting it back. They did an outstanding job.
Dylan M.I didn't realize that renting a van on the 1st of a month was problematic (I was not moving an apartment). I checked in via mobile and it said my van was ready, with a number and location....but nothing could have been further from the truth. The location was totally out of vehicles and I was directed to wait in line inside....with a lot of other people who had cnfirmed reservations. What's the point of a reservation if it depends on chance, or luck, if maybe just maybe there were vehicles available! I also had to wait 20 minutes to drop it off because the workers were cleaning every truck before moving them. There was a long LONG line of trucks and vans backed up onto 4th Avenue...a waste of time and gas. Drop off should be streamlined on busy days-- just pick an empty area (there was one) and let us park the returning vehicles there, instead of having to wait for the workers to clean each one....

Will not be recommending UHAUL to anyone I know. Not only was this location no where near where I lived but it impacted my travels and ability to leave on schedule.

I had booked a van in advance and it was not available upon my arrival, nor were staff willing to do anything to help rectify the situation except tell me to wait indefinitely with the hope they might have a car soon. Very disappointing. Further my card was charged incorrectly for this rental and I will now need to do more work to correct this situation.

Noah R.I made a reservation over the phone for a 20x10x6 unit, which I paid for ahead of time. My reservation was lost. A staff member--one of only two I encountered who kind and tried to be helpful--supported me in reserving the only 20x10x6 unit still available. When my movers and I arrived at the unit, we realized it was much smaller than 20x10x6. I went back and she told me there were no units of that size available; the only one was reserved (I assume that was my unit!). She said I could rent a second unit, which was on a completely different floor and not climate controlled, so my movers told me what size to get and we completed the reservation. She said, "You're all set!" I was not all set. The key card I had didn't grant us access to the floor where the second unit was located. I went back again and she told me she needed to give me a second key card. I have no idea why she didn't do that in the first place. I'm currently arranging for my items to be picked up and moved to a private storage facility. I actually left my keys there for them in an envelope. One of the employees helped me and made a note in my account. She was the second person who was kind and at least attempting to be helpful. If I discover those keys have been "lost"... Most of the staff were rude, incompetent and completely unhelpful. I don't know if other locations are similar in this respect, but I would never recommend this facility and I certainly will never use it again.

I later found that it is stated on the website but it's so small and hard to miss, I wish it was made more apparent before renting

Dimitry K.The line was about 10 people long when I arrived an hour before my pickup time. There were four attendants at the counters and not one of them was helping anyone or calling anyone forward. The manager/owner finally came out and started assisting each of us in line herself. I am glad I came early because it took me about 45 minutes to get my truck rental (only the truck, they did not have the trailer ready). They said it was going to take an hour to fix the trailer. I came back three hours later and it took them another hour to fix the trailer. I asked about 6 times in the span of an hour for someone to let me know the status and they kept saying they are "working on it". One staff member drove me in the truck back to the mechanic shop where I helped them fix the trailer myself.

Dontae M.Pick-up was an absolute mess. The app wasn't working and the mobile website was a mess to navigate. What should have taken 5 minutes took 30. The location was well-staffed but the line was very long, in part because people were having trouble with the app and website. The staff there was competent enough but a bit rude. Not totally their fault because the terrible mobile experience increased their workload beyond what they could handle.

CARLO P. | Expérience généraleThe staff, and UHAUL, have to do a better job of making the experience of being a part of the UHAUL community worth it. Especially from the consumer stand point. The experience I have had at UHAUL of Park Slope has been uncomfortable. And at times, quite prickly, and indifferent. A team member gave my key card to one of my staffers without informing me. That is lazy and in direct communication. Which in sum is a lack of effort. Maybe the UHAUL team feels a little pushed to the side with a new person less system that keeps labor cost down. Most times in these situations team members can take more short cuts as a form of rebellion. Which is dangerous for any brand, or service based business. I feel the experience can be more user friendly for the customer. Hopefully this improves in the future.

Once I figured out the check-in, elevator use process, it was smooth sailing. I don't recall being informed that I would receive instructions in an email. This is no reflection on your rep. Marybeth was great. Patient, thorough, professional. I just don't recall being informed about the instructions email. Had I known, I would not have experienced the frustration caused by the delay in completing my move due to not being able to use the elevators. I am grateful to the Park Slope location Manager, Amanda, who was gracious enough to answer my call for assistance with texted instructions. A+ Lastly, I did experience some problems with the card reader in the elevators. At times it would not recognize my information even though I had already checked in. In the final analysis, your products are great, convenient, and very much needed. Moving is so stressful, moving in a time crunch is a nightmare. Checking emails is not a priority during the moving process. Anything that can make the experience easier and less stressful, goes a long way.

I've been in and out of the facility on various occasions and this is an ongoing problem, not a one time thing. Besides being extremely unpleasant, there is no point in having alarms if the entire staff has been trained to ignore them. (Which is exactly what they told me to do) I also think you need some sort of trash removal service. I would have happily paid to have the stuff I no longer needed taken to a dump for me if that was an option. Would be a win-win for you and your customers
