LISA POverall amazing experience. I was in and out. The staff was very attentive to my need, and you can tell the morning was managed very well.
CHAD OTrucks were parking the w entrance in when they returned them. The staff was walking eating food and goofing off. Seemed like 3 buddies there to just get a paycheck and have a time. We were told by front desk to go ask the guys outside for the keys to the truck and so we did and they laughed in my face like I was asking something dumb and then threw the keys at me.

MARK LFor the last couple months, I have been renting from this location for four days out of the week picking you up on Monday and returning Thursday evening. With all the staff iron encountered I had no issues and was actually extremely pleased with the service up until this week. On Monday, August 26 around 8:30 AM I arrived at this U-Haul location and greeted a young lady Caucasian about 5'5 with brown hair whom I am assuming is named Jess if I caught the name other employees used when addressing her correctly. Upon greeting her, I could tell she had an attitude, but proceeded to attempt picking up my reservation. Once I notified her of my reservation, this employee began texting just as she was when I entered the store. After one text message, I shrugged it off and expected her to resume preparing my reserved truck. Instead, she resumed texting at which time I stated hey friend, I would appreciate finishing my reservation if what you're texting about is not related so that I may begin my workday. At that time, the employee yelled at me that she was texting her boss about an incident with two other employees. I calmly responded with. I understand your frustrated, but that has nothing to do with me and I would like my reservation so that I can leave. At this time, two young men who I had the pleasure of being served by before walked in from the parking lot, at which point, the female employee stated with an attitude that one of them could handle my reservation and she is done. I began speaking with one of the gentlemen as the other attempted to de-escalate the rage coming from the young lady. She then began to make various accusations about me, recording her, screaming at her, and berating her at which time I stated to the young man that took over my reservation I'll be happy to speak to the manager immediately because I'm pretty sure everything was being recorded and that I hope there was also audio. She then began screaming at me that she is a grown woman and nothing is going to happen to her. I responded by telling her you decided you were not going to help me and you turned my reservation over to another employee so there is no reason for you to continue speaking to me. At this point, she continued to scream she's a grown woman and she can do what she wants at which point I returned the same energy and stated again that I need to speak with the manager immediately. Both young men on the shop floor attempted to de-escalate while also attempting to finish out my reservation so I can move on with my day. She then began to attempt to snatch my credit card out of the other employees hand, screaming at him not to help me. Once my card was processed the manager Shawn walked in shortly after as I explained the situation to him. I explained that because of close proximity, I preferred to use that U-Haul location and have had no issues on either end up until this incident. I let him know that this was extremely unacceptable because her behavior was not suitable for anyone representing a business. He advised that he would have a conversation with her at which point I advised I would be contacting corporate because a simple conversation was not enough of a consequence for how this woman treated a once faithful customer. It was at that time that I decided my company would no longer be using U-Haul as I refuse to patronize a business that lacks accountability for its employees and allows employees to blatantly, disrespect customers without reason.
Tyller LCalvin at the register was very clear and understanding with us. First time renting a U-Haul and it was very easy. Only problem was the truck we rented the drivers side door was dented in before we rented it and made it a bit difficult to ensure the door was closed all the way

JAN RTight traffic flow through facility. Not too much that can be done to mitigate due to available "property space ". Efficient and smooth operations, easy access, and friendly staff.
James BRoad film on windshield so bad wipers were useless. Many of my boxes were wet from the rain leaking in to truck.

Donald CTo anyone reading this and intending to get a storage unit: Beware U-Haul and particularly the location in North Side in Pittsburgh, PA. I will never recommend U-Haul to anyone after the service I had. The lack of leadership at the North Shore location. And accountability in the team miscommunication with my situation. To begin: If you want to be continuously hassled for billing payment issues, be given information from one employee to have another one, a manager, argue with you on said information, and to be humiliated and called "disgruntled"-this is the right place. Please note this location is very small and the hours are limited, and at points unaccessible depending on the return of U-Haul vehicles blocking passage to the the storage unit. Second, Customer service is horrendous. I'm not going to say the entire team was bad, there are some newer staff members who seem willing to do their job. I had some issues with my unit that I won't discuss in this post for I want this to be a warning to anyone considering going here to do business. I will say I never in my life dealt with someone yelling at me on the phone "your bill is late" while I tried multiple times to explain the situation on the phone. The Collection Manager really needs to learn how to properly do their job-asset the situation before demanding payment and the way they handle the situation was rude and unacceptable. The worst thing about this was the general manager. First, he referred to me as disgruntled. I was frustrated, particularly because I had gone a month after getting the billing situated for the unit, with the intention of moving after receiving a phone call from the general manager (an employee on the phone stated the general manager was the only one able to cut the lock off my unit and allow me access). A month passed and after receiving multiple letters and no phone calls returned, I decided to head directly to fix the issue. Even after the payment was resolved ( which I believe I shouldn't had to pay due to the poor communication of staff and the fact the manager never reached back out after an employee said I had to wait for him to return and call me) I asked to speak to the general manager just to clear things up and he refused then "disappeared". I could have called down there sooner but if I'm told the highest form of management was needed to fix my issue, that they would in fact due the right thing and call and clarity. Instead, after getting my bill up to date, no one calls now I am left to pay a month of rent that I didn't even want to pay, for when I called to get billing corrected, I was under the impression that the lock, once the fee was paid, would be removed and I could move my belongings. This is unacceptable way to treat a customer, doesn't matter the situation. To the General Manager at U-Haul in North Side Pittsburgh: if you would of taken the time to have a conversation with me, after calling me disgruntled, and not taking into consideration that your employees miscommunicated information that made the situation frustrating, I ensure you I wouldn't of left this review. Do better U-Haul.

A improvement would be if you ate or live in the state you should get 50 free miles. We had to pay $111 dollars for 35 miles cause it's 1,29 per mile that's insane. I will certainly now find other options for rent because this is blasphemy.

Then when we finally got assistance we were asked to wait another 5-10 minutes so the first associate could take care of us so she could get a bonus. Uhh noo! We already waited long enough and we were tired from moving AND under a time constraint because we had to return our truck. I didn't appreciate being asked that.

TERRY WSean was great and very helpful. When I arrived, there was a back-up of trucks. It seemed as though it was mass chaos. Sean came over and said he would be right with me. I wanted to drop my truck off and rent storage for something in the Uhaul truck. When I went up to the GM, he said, "hold on" I have to move this truck. When he started backing up, he was about to hit a white van, so myself and another guy yelled so he wouldn't hit the van. He got out and said, " you know I have mirrors on this thing, I can see. Very rude. Then when trying to figure out a size space to rent, he got me a tape measure and said figure out a size. Poor service from the GM but Sean was very helpful in getting me a space and showing me the ropes. The GM's service is the reason for the Average rating.
Todd R | Premières impressionsthe hours for the access on the door say a time that they are still able to be accessed but you can only use the side door at this time. I came at 5 pm and could not get my belonging out. This is problematic when you work til 4 each day. Other than that it was a good experience. I did have an issue with the truck rental as well but I don't think it was their fault I think it was more of an app issue and they fixed it as fast as they could.

Timothy WA full tank of gas would be extremely helpful. our truck had less than a 1/4 tank and we had to fill up just to get it to the start location. Also, when we dropped it off, there was almost a 1/2 tank left. In addition, it would be nice if the pickup location we were able to choose online when booking was actually available for pickup. We went from having to drive 2 miles to go into town during busy traffic etc. Very inconvenient especially when we had scheduled the remainder of our day around a 5 minute pickup that turned into an 1 1/2 hours of our time.

He was unable to provide us with a dolly but charged us and encouraged us to go to another U-Haul dealer to get the dolly. He tried calling Pleasant Hills office, but was unable to get through, and tried no further. After leaving, I researched U-Haul dealers closer to my home and was able to get a dolly from the Carnegie location. They thought the process of being charged for dolly in one location and securing it from another location was odd. Other than that, the experience was good. thanks

I stopped in a week and a half ago and talked to two gentlemen the that were extremely helpful, and the gentleman who got me checked in the day-of AND the gentlemen who met me outside when I dropped off all were fantastic. I always try to rent from here when I need a U-Haul. Everyone is always very nice and helpful.
Casey HThe truck is unsafe to drive on a highway. I had to struggle with the steering the whole time. The steering was very loose and would only stay straight by me constantly turning the steering wheel. It needs maintenance immediately. Other than that we had enough space

We went there with our cars full to put the stuff in the storage and they and it was closed at 10. The girl on the phone told me it was 24 hours. that's the only two things made it difficult

From my first call to U-Haul through the actual move, arrival of possessions, and subsequent storage of same, EVERYTHING was 100 % spot on perfect. The manager, Dave Geary, took such EXCELLENT care of me. The facility is spotless and very well maintained and the staff was very courteous and helpful. No problems with anything from beginning to end and that's unheard of in the time we live in. If you are looking for storage, look no further, I just found the perfect place for you in PA!

Marla M | Premières impressionsThe facility itself is nice, clean, and safe. However it is a bear to navigate the parking lot in order to park for loading and unloacking. They keep WAY too many trucks and trailers on the property - Fender benders are bound to happpen. Also --- The Uhaul storage contracts work differently that other storage facilities that I have used previously. They refuse to prorate and give a portion of the rent back for unused days. For instance if your contract runs the 4th to the 4th of each month and you move out on the 10th. The full monthly amount paid on the 4th is kept by Uhaul even though only 6 days of rental was actually used. This does not seem reasonable to me. There are lots of better, cheaper options with better customer service out there.
