U-Haul reservation online double booked storage unit and when I drove from Illinois with a truck full of furniture I was told by U-Haul employees there's no available units had to drive to several sites was finally assisted by Lawrence Assistant Manager which he was able to help me. Conner and the other employee were not properly trained nor was the equipment properly working when I picked it up. Ended up waiting 5 hours which held up my move. I feel ripped off by Uhaul and never recommend this company to anyone after the shotty service I received all around from all locations after spending nearly 3 000 with this company. The road side assistance is shit, the 3rd party does their part not Uhaul. I should have been refunded half the truck fees as well since uhaul broke and violated their own contract. I will never recommend uhaul to anyone. No care that I fell off and severely injured myself on your truck breaking my jaw. No compassion or care for your customers. Hopefully uhaul goes under for the shotty care and service they provide to their customers.Jacob O.

The key had a plastic tag with it that identified the truck. It was broken, but not replaced. Since the truck was for my daughter's move, I left the keys with her so she could get into the truck after I went home. She lost the tag, so when I returned the truck, I told the employee (who left store unattended until I called the store on my phone while waiting at the counter) that the tag got lost in the move. 1st month Supposedly free I got charged $132 Mike never got back to me they use the excuse of the manager not available twice the old white has said he'll look into it and get back to me still hasn't. The process really needs to be improved. Online reservation was easy but when I called to change it, the process was a pain and long. I was also stunned when I finally talked to someone and they said someone would call to confirm if I even had a trailer a few days before which made no sense since I had a reservation already. A few days before, we got the call telling us where we would pick up the trailer. They had us going downtown Chicago which is about 35 miles away from us and not where I had reserved the trailer (about 10 minutes away.) I tried calling and after waiting about an hour and getting hung up on 3 times I called the local UHaul where my reservation was. They were not sure why they would send me to Chicago since they had trailers so they were helpful in getting me a new reservation. After that, things went smoothly with pick up and drop off. The idea that I would have to drive over an hour to get a trailer when we have so many places so near us was crazy and certainly would make me think twice with choosing UHaul again.Kristin A.

Galesburg staff have outstanding customer service. My son is 12 and loves to ask people if and what they love about their job. The responses he received where. So positive. I wasn't going to make it to Plainfield Storage before the 7pm close and the gentleman on duty completed the online/outside access for me since I was in transit. Again very helpful. With a 10 foot truck and towing trailer, I booked a a 10 x 10' storage space in Bolingbrook Illinois. After payment, it showed that they made the reservation in a different city and a smaller unit. The first representative said she could not cancel the incorrect Location contract. She told me to go ahead and book the correct location of Bolingbrook Illinois and that I would have to drive to the other city to make the cancellation. Later I attempted to speak to a second representative. This representative stated that she would be able to send a message to the incorrect location to have them cancel the contract of the wrong location. After I booked and paid for the contract for bowlingbrook, I received an email stating that my Bolingbrook contract was canceled. I had to call a third customer service representative and tell them to cancel once again the incorrect location. She was able to cancel the contract for me. By that time I decided to no longer do business with U-Haul storage. I found another company that was half the price and easier to manage making reservations with.Keith T. | Online Move In

I have been using them a lot lately, and never had any issues, other than they need more staff. The gentleman, that helped me was very polite and helpful. His rating was 5 ⭐️'S from me. I don't recall his name, but thank you to him. Also, when calling, the person I spoke with on the phone was also excellent. Very knowledgeable and helpful. They were unable to provide me with the truck, but helped me get one at the next closest location. Very pleasant to speak with. While my belongings were stored here, the door collapsed inward off the track. They called me to come unlock it so they could repair the door. Approx 2-2,5 weeks prior to my move i RESERVED 2 10x10 storage units at the Plainfield facility, I filled out paperwork and was given some instruction on what to expect. The young man at the counter told me not to come back until the day of my move so my free month would start on that day. June 22 came and the movers and I worked all morning. I got in my car followed by the moving truck. When we got to the facility i was told they did not have my original 2 reservations, only the one I made the day or two prior thinking I needed more space, I was horrified since I had to be out of my house and close on my sale by 6/28. My entire house was in this truck. The movers moved ALL my things into one unit since it was climate controlled. Meanwhile the manager said there was nothing he could do about this situation. He gave me an outiside unit, which I accepted since I had no choice. I will never recommend this facility again. Why take reservations (they had just given mine away) if you aren't going to honor them. I did everything they asked, Moving is stressful enough without this facing you at the end, I did call the national U-Haul office and spoke to Laura in customer service. She was friendly and helpful. She was sending a notice about my complaint to the manager of the Plainfield facility (which I said would do no good since he allready told me there was nothing he could do) and to someone at the U-Haul National offices. Here I was at 73 years old, moving all my things and trusting U-Haul to take care of them, and U-Haul couldn't even keep track of my reservation, let alone honor them. I will now have to hire the movers again to move half of my things out of this unit and into another one that is also climate controlled. I am on social security and this move was very expensive, let alone paying the movers twice. All in all I was handled poorly and am not happy about it.
