Wrong keys were in the lock box during after hour pickup. Very stressful and extra time to sort out. To add insult, upon return, even though I added extra fuel (gauge was higher than when we picked up) I was charged $12 (2 gallons) for fuel, which I wasn't communicated until I checked my online receipt the next day - and carefully â€œburiedâ€ in the receipt I might add.Richard P.

The girl who initially waited on me did not want to be there, made it very apparent that she was overworked and miserable. It took forever to get my vehicle. Upon checking out the vehicle, the miles given in the contract Upon checking out the vehicle we're Completely different - off by 450. No one seemed to care or was willing to fix it before I drove off property. I knew if It wasn't fixed, I'd be responsible for it. They said it was fixed but wasn't. When I returned the vehicle I had to explain again what happened. The manager wwe Helpful as was the man who checked my vehicle in when I returned it. 1. Could use more customer parking at that location. 2. Fill the truck with gas before giving it to customer. As far as I'm concerned, nothing. I have rented in the past but this is the first time I used the option of using the online tool to register and it was so much faster and checking out went so quickly. I was quoted one price, but when we came to pick up the trailer, $400 was added to what I had already paid, moving is already stressful, don't need extra expenses.harriet W.
The after hour return was ridiculous. I was unable to use the website as instructed. When attempting to sign in I kept getting wrong my email address or incorrect password even though they were correct. After numerous attempts I tried calling customer service with no luck. I then resorted to trying the chat option, no reply. After going through all the above attempts for approximately 20 minutes i tok pictures of the returned van an it's location. The next morning I called the pleasant hills location and spoke to Carl to complete the return. Carl told Me i was being charged the $20 after hours return fee. He did say he was going to wave the charges after I explained what had occurred.Jim M.

Personnel was helpful, however they failed to check in my equipment when I had dropped it off PRIOR to the agreed drop off time. When I dropped off the equipment, I asked the staff member I returned my keys to if I needed to do anything else to return it and they told me no, it was received and I could leave. I received a call an hour after the drop off time asking if I needed it for more time. When I said it had been dropped off several hours ago, the staff member on the phone said she could in fact see the truck mentioned in my rental agreement in their lot and she would check it in for me. Despite working hard to return it on time, I was still charged for an extra day. It has been over 10 days since I logged the initial dispute with UHaul and I have had no response. Not everyone wants to inspect vehicle by computer also I drive around block because engine light came on as soon as I left uhaul and spoke with 2 of ur employees they stated everything was good not to worry so when I called to get a new inspection text I was told by Josh he couldn't give me a new text because it had been 15 minutes. Unless I came back. U told him I just left there again after specking with 2 employees I was not drive around block again. It seemed that there were only 2 people working on the day that unpicked up my truck, or at least two people who were willing to help me. They were both very helpful though, despite the long wait time. When I picked up my tow dolly the next day, it seemed that there was one person working and his name rage said owner. He was understandably running around a lot as he was the only one working the desk and seemed to be the only one working outside to pull trucks and dollies around for customers. He did well for the amount of work he was trying to do for the number of customers vying for his attention. The lot is pretty small and there were a lot of trucks being returned so it was a little scary to try to maneuver a large truck with a car in tow.Jeffrey T.

I was told I should inspect the body for damage.. There were markings on the truck where previous damage was done Why couldn't one of your employees have put those markings where there was damage before I drove the truck? Staff unprofessional particularly at the desk. No manager on site to solve problems. I returned my rental only to be called multiple times asking when I was bringing it back ( I would think after the first call I would go see if it were back rather than continuing to call the customer). Phone system horrible either it tells you there's a 40 minute wait to talk to some one or it hangs up on you. I have rented from here multiple times it's always slow, but this time customer service was awful.John C.

This Uhaul location has a 'Rodent' and 'Rat' problem. I scene a very large 'Rat' when I moved out. These units are not sealed. Meaning rotten and rats can move from one unit to another. You can smell the malt balls odor throughout the storage facility. The facility looks clean and orderly. Please request and ask to see these units. To see my points. My unit had mouse droppings in it. When I showed Jessica, she said she would have some one clean it. Whoever cleaned it didn't clean it all up. There were several locations in the unit with mouse droppings. I loaded my belongings on one side of the unit and will see if someone can clean the remaining droppings. Or I may do it myself. I know many storage units have mice, but at least TRY to make it look like you don't. . The locks don't work well on the units either. I have to go back up to have them drill a bigger hole so the lock actually works. The unit should have been cleaned and inspected before I checked in. I wish I could say I'd recommend it, but I can't right now. Fortunately, I will only need it for a few months. No one explained to me that there were steps to get to the unit which we found difficult but our main issue was the height of the unit. We had a truck full of furniture that would have been too tall to fit in this unit and also a fridge. I was never told the type of storage I was offered was short. So only a small load of stuff was brought there. I had to rent another place Saturday from A normal style storage unit. The uhaul storage was free to us however the unplanned mileage put on the uhaul truck cost me extra money. I will be contacting uhaul about this because not only did I have to rent a unit elsewhere I now put an additional 20 miles on the truck. I made several trips to move out. Once, the sliding doors weren't opened. This was around noon, so it wasn't because it was off hours. This made it very difficult to move out using the door, which is down a narrow hallway. I called to let them know it was locked and waited on hold for over 15 minutes. Apparently, you get kicked over to a hotline when you call. She was no help, said to just go inside and tell them. I said I will not, that nobody wears masks that work there, even though it's required by our Governor to wear them in businesses. Once, I came a little after 7pm, and access to the storage units were closed. Online and on the sign, it is posted that OFFICE hours close at 7pm, however it states that access to storage units were to be until 10pm. Wasted trip all the way down there. Because of that, I had to scramble to move out the day of. There is always junk in the parking lot, at least by the loading dock where I frequented. Because I made so many trips every day to my unit, I noticed some used band-aids a little further down in the hallway. They were there for days and to my last day, were still there. Everything is so dark and dingy inside, also. Rent kept going up. Once, I received a notice that they were painting, so they needed to raise the rent to keep it maintained. When they painted it looked fresh and new. However, it was not maintained. I noticed when I was moving out, that several holes were patched all around, but never painted over. So, all you see are all these spackled holes everywhere. Lastly, as I mentioned, nobody there wears masks. It took me over a week, making a total of 30 trips to move everything and so I saw several times throughout the week of employees talking close to customers with no mask on. Whether it be showing a customer a new unit inside, behind the the counter at service, or them showing or receiving storage trucks from customers, they never wore a mask. I saw all customers wear them. There is even a sign in their window to please wear one upon entry. I understand it's inconvenient, I know, I moved wearing one the whole time. The unit was clean, but I was extremely disappointed to find that my large storage unit was located on the 2nd floor with the only access to the unit was to carry large, heavy items up steps.
