They were there for me when they really could have passed me off to someone else in your company (like the scheduler who was so rude - female- and didn't give me good information). They both went to bat for me and got my shipment sent to another U-Haul center in Erie (West Side) where the men I spoke with were also very helpful. I would recommend U-Haul to others who are moving, but stay away from the schedulers.

Almost stopped to buy windshield wiper blades, but fortunately stopped raining. Streaked windshield and made visibility hazardous at night. When brakes applied, steering wheel shook violently. When you pay this much money for a truck rental, the equipment should operate a lot smoother than this truck. Very disappointed in the condition of this vehicle.

The trucks cruise control stopped working within 30 minutes of driving, we called truck support that said it would come back on. Only when you stopped, turned the truck back on did the cruise control work then it only worked for 10 minutes and it would go back off. We called truck support a second time, they said to report it in Ohio when we turned the truck in. Calling Jamie at Veterans Blvd in Port Charlotte we asked for a credit since we drove 1200 miles without cruise control - she did nothing to remedy the poor experience.

Start with the folks that work there. They go out of their way to help you find the best storage unit to fit your needs. This is a busy store and I have never seen them without smiles on their faces. The prices are competitive no matter what size unit you need. Look at the facility itself. This blew my socks off. The entire place is cleaner than any restaurant you've ever been in. Spotless floors, excellent lighting and climate controlled. What more could you ask for?!

JUDE JYou should let people know before they get to rental place to pick up that they will need to call someone to verify them. The woman I rented from on Saturday morning,2/8, was very professional and kind-even though I got a little snippy over not knowing that policy.
MELISSA CSome feedback regarding my rental experience on a 5 x 8 trailer. I picked up the trailer and enjoyed the interaction with personnel at the site, but found that the trailer was not broom clean, and it needed to be cleaned out which I did, and then the next thing I found out that night was that one of the lights on the trailer was out, so I had to take the trailer back the next day to get that repaired. That Reyes concerns about whether the trailer had been properly reviewed/evaluated for the next customers use. So I asked to have the tires checked, they were OK. For the return, I picked a place with the U-Haul in my point of origin, and when I went to return it was told they don't really return or accept return trailers at that location I offered to go elsewhere, but found the whole thing to be rather annoying Since I thought I was working through an organized U-Haul outfit. That's it hope it helps

Its in the last place one would think to look and is especially frustrating at night after a long day of moving. Or the associate should tell us where it is when we pickup our rental vehicle. Ty.

DONALD SNo one seems to know what they are doing. Had to order two more boxes and it took over two hours on the phone and arguing with people who insisted they were correct (they were not). Then, when asked about extra shipping charges for the two extra boxes, they told me they couldn't tell me until they picked up the fully packed boxes and had they back at their site. I asked them if I didn't like the price they quoted after I loaded up the boxes if they would redeliver it to me and unpack it all at no cost, as that policy seemed completely wrong. Eventually, I got someone on the phone who knew what they were doing but it took well over two hours on the phone to reach that point. MCO830 (the local office I was dealing with) was very difficult to reach time and again. It would always roll over to another site. Two boxes were the wooden boxes with a total lack of anchor points and even nails sticking out. Finally, not sure where it happened, but one of the wood boxes had chunks out of the side of the door on delivery that weren't there when they took the box away loaded with our goods. This seems to show how rough they handle boxes. The forklift operators dropping off the boxes on both ends were good but that was about the only good part of the whole experience. By the time our packed boxes were ready for pickup we were so unsure about U-Haul that we purchased air tags to track the movement of the boxes. As when we called them or they called us about the boxes they would say they have either two or four boxes to (pick up, transport, etc) and I always had to remind them we had six! Then, to top it off, they wanted the moving blankets they give you folded else a $25 fee per box applies. We had about 144 blankets from the six boxes. After folding for about an hour (after unpacking, etc), I called the 800- number to ask about this policy. They indicated that this is what was supposed to be done and suggested I call the local office in the morning. Called them and was told they needed to be folded. So I kept folding on the day the unpacked boxes were to be picked up. The driver called to let me know she was a half hour out. I mentioned I was still folding blankets and hoped to be done by the time she got here. She then told me not to fold them and that I just had to pile them in the box. Too bad I didn't know this after wasting two plus hours folding. This is just another example of different answers from different people from U-Haul. Overall I would never do u boxes again and would tell anyone thinking about it to stay away from u-boxes by U-Haul.

Alarms will be triggered if you go into an area your not suppose to be in which I liked. I will definitely be using them again in the future if I need a storage facility.

Would highly recommend the Veterans U-HAUL in Port Charlotte. Also I had to get a truck from a different U-Haul. When I got to the Vererans U-Haul the truck was dirty with green algae. Veronica cleaned and mop the truck for me. Excellent job.

Bob M | Expérience généraleI would love to review but I'm reserved at the moment to see what the outcome of my question is. So here's the situation. I met a homeless man who had no place to put his belongings. It was raining and he was getting soaked and so were all of his items. I asked a man if I could help him He said that he had no place to store his items. So I googled storage facilities and your establishment came up. While there, I explained to the clerk at check-in that I only needed this storage for one month and that it belonged to a homeless man. Than I explained to the homeless man that he had to get the items out of there before the month was over otherwise he'd have to pay for any additional storing. Well come to find out that he did not pay for any additional storage nor did they pay for late fees to get his stuff out. I was notified and again told the representative that I'm only responsible for the one month payment after that my obligation is over. Now I'm being notified that the items that were in the storage were auctioned off and $150 was raised to go towards the bill. The bill however was $175 and some odd change. I am now being notified that I am responsible for the balance left. $25. I am requesting that this $25 be waived I played it forward by paying for a full month of storage for a person who was down on their luck. I am requesting that you see this as a noble gesture and waive the $26 dollar fee please. . Thank you for your consideration in this matter have a blessed day. They scratched my white leather couch while going out the front door and then proceeded to drop it on the concrete when they finally made it out. Doing a very nice job of ruining it. Of course no contact or reimbursement after that was done. Next time I'd have them sign paperwork for my liability and damages made prior to moving. That is the only thing that reflects poorly on U-Haul.

Everything was excellent for the EXCEPTION of poor insect control. Not only did I see roaches in my unit, but once I got home and started unpacking there were quite a few in my belongings. It was so bad that when I arrived at my unit I witnessed a roach trying to crawl under my unit door. With that said , I don't see my self recommending this facility to anyone until, if ever, the roach infestation has been remedied. Who wants to bring roaches home?

This facility, right off I-75, was the perfect location at a reasonable rate. Jamie, the manager, was available and helpful at move-in and move-out. As an aside, one thing I did not think of when storing belongings in SW Florida was the potential for hurricanes. After Hurricane Ian ended up passing through during our "stay," I was thankful our belongings were on the second floor and in an interior unit of a new facility!

As I was going to check out the guy at the facility pulled off in his car as he seen me walking up to the building to go in to check out the facility did not close till 5:00 so I didn't know if he was leaving for the day or coming back we had a 11-hour drive and could not hang out to wait and see if he was coming back. So I called you all and checked out with the lady who was very helpful I insured her that we took pictures because the guy had left that was supposed to do the walkthrough with us she said that was perfectly fine and to hold on to the pictures in case of an discrepancy. As I was pulling off the guy had returned I went in and gave him my key card he said we could not leave until he did the walkthrough I told him I talked with the lady that said it was fine to leave and she had checked us out he then said he don't know how she can check us out over the phone but looked at his computer and seen that she had he successfully check this out he said we was good to go and gave us our receipt and that he would do the walk-through. I assured him also that I took pictures and everything looked good in the unit other than a few dead water bugs on the floor that obviously came from another unit but they was dead. Other then the price hike without my knowledge everything was great. Just had to get my things because I don't know if they took the price up 10 dollars what it would be next time without my knowledge. So I my stuff out of there quick once they took it up! Anyway for this reason i wouldn't recommend this storage facility to anyone unless you ask questions about how much this unit goes up and how offen cause again they took the price up $10 and when I asked why the guy couldn't even tell me why the price went up. Just said they taking everything thing up now and days. Well that wasn't a good enough answer and the following month i went and got my stuff cause They wasn't gonna get over on me with price hikes and couldn't give me a good enough reason to why. Anyway staff was great friendly just gotta be honest about things and stop price hiking people.

I only have two suggestions and I'm just being nit picky: if they could change the timing on the elevator doors closing by deleting it just about two or three more seconds that would be very helpful. The doors always closed too fast after entering or trying to leave. The second person pushing a cart would not make it out after the first person before the doors would close and the same after a person would push the first cart back into the elevator. The second thing is, most likely nothing can be done on it, again with the elevator. When pushing the carts in or out there steel track is extremely rough and vibrates the cart where things can fall off. Kind of hard to explain it's the part right when you enter the elevator and then the part right on the building floor as you exit the elevator. It's like rumble strips on the shoulder of the highway. But seriously those two things are it and aren't that important but if you wanted perfection there you go. The office staff were awesome explained how to use the cards, security, cameras, hours of operation how to hire movers. They all went above and beyond and should be recognized for keeping this place the most outstanding storage facility I've ever been in!
