Sylvia RStaff was not friendly, very rude when I said I was Coming to access my U-box. I had called 72 hours in advance to gain access, had 2 text confirmations, an email and confirmation on the app and the ladies still proceed to tell me I didn't follow the correct steps. They could not locate my U-box and then after an hour told me the person who drives the forklift called out and I would need to return in the morning. I had movers at the location already to empty my box and next day was not an option. I was then told I could call the GM who would be waiting for my call and never answered the phone. 1,5 hours later, they found my box and told me to walk to the back where I could access it. It was in the storage space with boxes surrounding it and a box on top, we could barely get the lock unlocked to open it. Horrible experience!

Took some time to find the vehicle because they just hand you the keys and no one goes with you. When returning it took some time to find anyone to give the keys to. Didn't get the sense that anyone working there actually wanted to help customers.

Bill CManager was super rude off the bat. Told us we had all the wrong info but all the info I had was from her own employee who was clearly confused and unable to answer any of our questions. There didn't seem to be any point in making a reservation as my unit was entirely different than the one I reserved. Once everything was settled (took almost an hour), the manager came back to the desk to make one last snide remark. She probably shouldn't be allowed to interact with customers if i'm being honest - maybe she can deal with something behind the scenes. Overall, if I hadn't had a reservation, I would've left. And will never come back or recommend this! The only positive was that the man who showed us to the storage unit was super pleasant and kind.

Katura SMy experiences with renting from U-Haul have been very good. On this most recent rental the vehicle was mechanically unstable, vibration and shaking through the steering wheel in the front end starting at 35 to 40 miles an hour progressively getting worse after 50 mph. I was not able to complete my task in time. This forced me to rent the vehicle for an additional day. I informed the staff at the location of the mechanical issues. However I was not happy with the additional charges that I had to incur as a result of the mechanical issues.

TYIEREK HThe people In the reciving area need to be there until is time to close or untill their schedules is up .i found out that they were trying to hide from the customers that were trying to return the equipment and that right there could probably result in some extra fees to the customer. They really need to work on that because i even heard them say " I'm out before the place was even closed. But other than that the ladies in the office were great.

NOEL CThis location customer service was horrible and unfortunately I didn't get the representative name. She was a female who was rude and impatient. Short tempered and spoke to me in a demeaning way. She was Hispanic and spoke to other Latino customer before helping me with my question and assist. I have rent from other uhaul facility and written review but they were always glowing. Cynitha A. was pleasant and helpful. She worked outside with the truck.

Her experience was clear even though she was by herself at the register and under a lot of customer pressure from occasionally unreasonable customers. She should be promoted to management. The young man who took me upstairs was very helpful with explaining how to access my locker and made sure I got the kind of locker I needed. He should be promoted to work behind the register because he was also assisting with Spanish translation support. Great staff and they deserve to be recognized for it.

Everyone went the extra mile to help me and my movers on the day that I had to store a lot of my furniture in the middle of tropical storm. I really appreciated all the assistance and support. They have also been very helpful with my requests to rent additional units when I ran out of space. And helped a lot with choosing the right packing supplies I'm happy to recommend this U-Haul storage site enthusiastically!

It was a long walk and that slowed down the unloading, which cost me money because I paid the movers by the hour.

The best thing about it was the kindness, helpfulness, and knowledgeability of the staff. The big surprise was that the bathrooms were really clean! We aren't moving anything in for several weeks, so this is feedback only for reserving the space, not for the moving experience itself. I wasn't thrilled that the website implied that we could reserve a particular storage space ahead of time and then learned when we went in person that the particular space the website said we could give a start date for might not be available when we were actually ready to move. To make sure it would be, I rented it empty for 3 weeks to make sure I got it. I can understand that would be necessary, but it should be made clear on the website that if a room is reserved on the website for a future date the particular room may no longer be available. If you decided to give me those 3 weeks free in compensation for the misleading website information, I would not complain! Especially since the second part of our move will involve renting a UHaul truck from Bloomington MN, perhaps that would be a reasonable thing for you to do.

She would benefit from a course in customer aervice training. Promote those with grace and not based on tenure. She is God awful. I was disappointed yesterday to discover at my new storage space that several storage items were missing. Given the pandemic, the constant change of management at 230 street and staff over the year's and my personal crisis with my parents recently, I was truly disheartened to have sentimental and valuable items gone. Keys were always with me to my space. My lock was clipped way before my arrival yesterday and was inside the unit. Artwork is missing, holiday decorations and tools. I would like someone to explain to me how my insurance policy on the unit will cover the loss of these items. Its shameful. Please call me at +13474143545. I am happy to speak to corporate headquarters as the manager had suggested. Regional should oversee her better. She is unprofessional with a capital U in neon letters. Do not be fooled.

The front desk also was not as helpful as I wanted. Another worker from in the facility, Luis, came and helped us get in and made all the difference!

There was another person with "24hour access" that was locked out too. This place is a mess and I'm so happy I don't have to go back there. You guys need to do a retraining on your staff members and you need to hire an person to stay on site from 10pm-5am. Awful experience

For example no one expressed that u could pay a extra 10 dollars for 24 hours not only that but there was people who had the 24 hours and were still locked outside with that being said the system definitely needs a upgrade. Waited in line after arrival only to be told to do everything online. Then the code wouldn't work, so waited in line for assistance only for them to say let's try it again (and still wouldn't work). Them asking me which side I was on (I had no idea since it was done online and I had never been there before). They changed my unit to a more expensive one, further away from the door, only for them to discover I was using the code on the wrong side of the building. Then finally going to the unit to discover it was locked, and had to wait in line again to get someone to go remove the lock. This took an hour of my day before I was actually able to unload my truck.

She worked in the office at the storage site. I dealt with her once before Uhaul began renovating the office space. I do not know her name but from what I understand, she still works at the 230 West 230th street location. I'm glad I never had to deal with her again. Other than that, my overall experience with Uhaul was good.

The couch had to be placed up on its side ( which is not good) because it would not be enough room if placed normally. The price for that size was very expensive, compared to other Uhaul storage centers in the area.

The staff mostly spoke to one another, in particular about a customer and that person's account. They did little to assist and ONLY when I brought a hand truck to the counter to ask the price, did they FINALLY acknowledge me. There was a big difference from the weekend staff to the weekday staff. Very annoying and disappointing. Luckily I only need to store things without too much interaction with the staff in the future.

But I also rented a cargo van, and as a costumer/client, like most who enter your facilities, are rookies in renting vehicles. This is a concern/knowledge in order to maintaining repeat customers. Because certain steps and procedures must be explained in detail. I rented a vehicle that prior to handing a customer the vehicle keys was not inspected in front of the customer. Keys are being handed to a customer and the customer has to go to the lot and pick it up themselves without an employe physically taking the customer to the vehicle or retrieving it for them. Therefore the vehicle is not inspected for days maybe even weeks prior to obtaining it!!!

I applaud you for maintaining the space where people can pass on their unwanted items - I'm sure it can be annoying that you also get some trash - but you are doing good community service. The unit that was closed out was in my name - but the goods belonged to a friend who downsized to a smaller unit in this facility - so you really didn't lose a customer!

I needed to rent a second unit unexpectedly and my friend was supervising my move because I had a sudden death in the family. Thankfully the people at the facility were very helpful and circumvented the online process and just executed the task at the office. Thank heavens

I made it clear (so I thought) to the staff member my concerns, my desires as this is my first time ever with a storage facility. Long story short, upon receiving my contract, the insurance I requested was not incorporated into my contract, although I did mention as well as fill out the form, that I desired insurance coverage. I also requested to not have a climate controlled unit and I was assigned one and then told I could not transfer until after I made the first payment. I had to go back, another time and have another staff member add my insurance coverage. Based off of that initial experience, I wouldn't have recommended this place to anyone. However, I've been a few times since that initial experience. I will say based off of the service I received on this date 11/12, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. The late afternoon, evening staff seem to be much more attentive, and pleasant.

I was charged a month's rent because I moved out of my storage unit on the day rent was due. I thought it was excessive considering that I no longer was using the storage unit. The manager reduced the fee in half. I still think that's excessive considering that the storage unit was no longer being used.

It also concerned me when I saw mice . I know people can be dirty but I was shocked like damm they at a storage place too . Other then that I also didn't like how every week I was late on the payment it was a 30$ charge for the each week that went by . As if the storage unit wasn't enough .

During summer, the floors become extremely hot with no air circulation or cooling making it a hazard when moving items in or out of the facility. No consistency in staff behavior, Some are excellent while others might need coaching and there is no visible management leadership throughout the facility. Compared to Cubesmart, I rather pay for limited access to a clean, cooled and well managed facility than to pay U-Haul for inconsistent access, poor service and no management accountability.

I specifically asked for a front unit before I made my online reservation and I was told "yes" the the 4th floor 8x8x8 was in the front building. I asked the same question when I arrived the next day to sign the paperwork. I was again told "yes" but then I was shown the unit in the back building. Going over the hump between buildings causes items to fall off a card and makes moving much more difficult and really unacceptable. I declined that unit and was then given #6000 which I did not inspect. I regret that. That unit had absolutely no light. It is a second rate unit and makes usage much more difficult. I had a helper running a meter at $70 per hour so I gave up and just moved in. This is what I call third rate service. I have rented vans from you and storage units from you and I expect better. You failed me this time. I regret being in your facility. I will not recommend you to others.

When I took my stuff out of storage there were STAINS on much of my stuff from a rusty pipe or tube thing resting on top of the mesh grid leaking down into the storage locker. Also, it is utterly ridiculous that you do not prorate for the month if a locker is emptied out early and that you make people be there in person to end the contract. It is possible to e-sign a document.

We were transferring from one unit to another on 9/26 and without even being asked, Carlos went off to find us a cart (there were none in the main area). He walked with us all the way to the kingsbridge side units multiple times, first to show us the available units, and later to make sure our card was working. The staff working behind the register were patient in explaining the invoice. We had an excellent experience.

The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had all the dollies we needed, assisted immediately when all the parking by the loading station were taken by passenger cars, and even assisted unloading the truck. When I arrived at my unit with all my belongings is emptied from the truck, I found that the staff had not removed their lock. I called every number I could find and was left on hold. Finally we found someone that could help us, a worker closing out in the office. We explained the situation to her and she told us to come back tomorrow, knowing all our stuff was waiting outside the unit. An hour passes and we find someone else to help (Raymond from another location, very nice person), he calls the general manager and he sends the same woman who told us she couldn't help, to open the lock. They didn't apologize, and were laughing upon arrival.

Sarah C | Expérience généraleThere needs to be more people working. I was the second person in line when the location opened. I completed the online pre-check in. I had ordered supplies over 1 month in advance. Not only were my supplies not available (I ordered 6 furniture pads, there were only 3), half of them were missing from the order (TV box and mattress cover). I also had to wait in line for about 45 minutes before I could be seen. Next, I was given no instruction, or map as to where my storage unit was located. When I came in with a full truck 90 min later, I found out that my movers were unloading the truck at the wrong doc! We had to then request a different (more expensive) storage unit so we didn't have to pack back up only to unpack again. I then needed a refund for the furniture pads that were not given to me. This took over 30 min! The ONLY good thing about this experience were the movers I hired through you. I understand the the staff here was strapped for help ( while I was there I learned that one staff member was late, and another just left work without telling anyone.)
