Be clear and upfront about fees and extra charges

Jaime B.They were short staffed & we waited in line for a while to be helped. Then after we were helped we had to change trailers because the lights were not working. We were at the UHaul location for an hour, putting us back in time that day.

MARGARET W. | Expérience généraleThis has been the worst experience I've ever had with UHaul and may never use this company again because of how badly this transaction went. I have been falsely charged on my credit card after being told in store that my card could not be charged and then subsequently paying cash. Upon refund we selected cash as the option and they would not give cash, claiming it was going to be done on the card. That has not happened either. This is fraud and has been reported as such.

Thought I had completely signed in with App. Got there and had issues customer service told me to use Safari. In doing so the system thought I ordered 2 trucks. It was a long process fixing it. However in doing so my cost ended up $10 more than the original.

If these ratings didn't hurt the employees, I would've given 2 stars because I was very angry with what happened. I reserved my Uhaul almost 2 weeks in advance to ensure that I would have what I needed. But when I went to pick up my 24hr rental for my 6pm reservation I was told that I would have to return it by 7am because they had others who needed to pick it up. Luckily…ish, the kind lady who helped me was able to rearrange some things to let me keep it until Noon. So two things here… I was charged for a 24hr rental and was only allowed to have it for 18 hrs. Because of this, I was not able to get my move completed with the Uhaul. After returning, I had to pay to make 4 truck loads from friends and family vehicles which cost me twice as much as the Uhaul rental. I could've finished and been out of pocket much less if I had gotten my 24hrs. I also have to extend my moving by an extra day to get everything done with regular pickup trucks. I'm extremely angry with Uhaul as a company. I don't feel like I will be a returning customer. For my next move I will most likely hire a moving company so I know I'm getting what I'm paying for and much less stress.

Alan P.It's unclear where the entrance is. The equipment is parked in a parking lot adjacent to the business office. When you pull up to the business office they tell you to drive over to the equipment. There is a curb between and you ask yourself how the heck are you going to get there without jumping the curb or pulling out on the one way street going against the traffic. Plus, if you pull up to the business office and they tell you to go back around to the equipment, there is no way to turn around so you have to back out. Needs to have better signage to direct incoming vehicles.

Friday I get a call saying that they didn't have the equipment so I'd have to put pick up from A American storage at 9. I get to A American and they don't have the equipment there. So I once again had to go to another location and over the phone with the uhaul rep they said it would be a 26ft van. I get there around 10 at U-Haul Moving & Storage of Rose City. After waiting for around an hour I get told the only van they have availed is the 15ft. I was angered by the disrespect shown for me and my time. I will refrain from using uhaul services in the future.

I went twice to make sure the gas tank was at the appropriate mark and the facility still charged me a gas convenience fee, fuel charges, and I was charged for 2 days when I had the U-Haul less than 24 hours. I had over $100 in false charges. I am disputing this with my credit card. When I contacted this location after getting my email receipt nobody would answer my call, nor did they return my call after I left a message. Very dishonest location and I rent from U-Haul often for business purposes.

The employees that I talked to most recently were absolutely amazing, their personalities were contagious and absolutely delightful. I just can't stand uhall. The price rises are praying on people's out of sight out of mind. It's kinda annoying to watch the price consistently rise dispute the facility most definitely being paid off. having an understanding of how much $100 is as my WEEKLY grocery bill is more than $100 pisses me off knowing some people have no choice but to store their things for extended periods of time as the units price constantly makes it more difficult to get back in the position to be able to empty out the units. This seems like a trap for people who are struggling to fix themselves financially especially in the current economy. If you want people to move out or give an extra push to keep the occupancy more manageable, try starting with text notifications or at least some kinda of reminder for people about the unit they have. So would I refer uhall to a friend? no. Maybe to my worst enemy but even then I'd feel guilty.
