Fix website issues, they cost me hours of valuable time during pick up. During drop off, website issues also disallowed me to prove I put proper gas in the tank. Carefully inspect whether you are correct in charging extra fees.H Scott W.
Uhaul really sucks now. Your only saving grace is that you are the last man standing. You seek add-on after add-on, you do a shameless insurance grab, and your pickup and dropoff procedures are beyond painful. The cost per day is fine, but the cost per mile is absurd. Nothing. I tell everyone I can to avoid uhaul if at all possible. Everyone I've ever met only uses Uhaul because you're the cheapest and most ubiquitous truck rental operation. Terrible company. If you're reading this, get out. You're better than this.Ben L.

Staff I dealt with was very non-personable. He kept several people waiting while he was in the back of the building. Gave no acknowledgement to anyone he had kept us waiting. No acknowledgement that he would be right with us. He gave every indication of someone doing a job he hated.STAN S.

The rental process is unnecessarily complicated. Having to wait and wonder if/when you'll get a call from the reservation manager, when you have already reserved online is ridiculous. And doing the check-in online ahead of time actually lost us time at the location rather than saved time. The whole process seemed way more complicated and time-consuming than it needed to beRich P.

When placing an order for a rental truck it would be nice if you would put the items ordered with it in the truck. And have some sort of a lock box outside that opens with a code to pick up the key. So the customer saves time from going inside and stand in line like everyone else. Ordering online is supposed to save time. ThanksBarbara H.

You're charging me for a full tank of gas when I returned it with a little over half. I took it (and uploaded the pic) with half a tank and actually gave back a bit over half. Your rep says they have the pic of the return fuel level but somehow not the pic of the fuel level when taking the van. That's really a convenient excuse to steal my money, U Haul.Vanessa M.

The representative I worked with was very rude. When I arrived she informed me that the reservation that I had made over the phone for that morning was made for that night and there was nothing available. She said I must have done it online and they have been booked for a week. She made no apologies and was abrupt and rude. Then eventually offered a van to me, which I took. I informed her that I would take the van but the error "was not ok" She said it was the error of the call center and still made no apologies. She was harsh and rude. Stating the van will be cheaper than the one I had reserved.Heidi S.

I booked the after hours 24x7 pickup for 8 am on 5/1. Checked the night before with the uHaul app and watched the video etc on how to pick up before the office was open. Arrived at 7:45 and upon trying to pick up the system (iOS app and the website) both have an error message that the reservation had been switched to pickup at counter - which didn't open until 9am. Came back at 8:55, facility was already open and 4 people were ahead of me in the line. The lady that helped me was very apologetic and helpful, but this delay caused me to loose 90 minutes on a busy morning and miss a planned breakfast with my family. Not sure if there was a system glitch but evening getting an email the night before would've saved me this frustrating experienceBrian L.

The vehicle was in an accident during the rental. I explained the scenario to the rep. I told her who I had reached out to already to communicate the details of the incident. She took some pictures and I was on my way. The process was quick.Andrew G.
Everything went well except there was only one clerk there working and quite a few people waiting in a line to be helped.Robert S.
Where do I start. I called the 24hr like to book a truck after hours. Was told they only had 15ft trucks, but when I showed up at the location they had 7 smaller 10ft trucks that I wanted. So I called back and a different person changed my reservation to be for the 10ft truck. I went through the online check in and everything but it never sent me a code to get the vehicle keys from the lock box. Then I continued to call to get assistance with the code and they are unable to view the code to get the keys. Then I was transferred over to the truck share and it had a 50min wait time. I was on the phone with uhaul and waiting in their parking lot for over 2 hrs. Until I told the last associate thank you for your help but I can't wait any longer (it was 10:30pm at this point). Very unimpressed with the whole operation. They should just give you your code on the invoice when they take your payment.Hunter J.

If you can get someone to assist you, it will be with an attitude. The truck was dirty, not at all even broom swept. The amount of gas expected upon return was not communicated properly, therefore, I was charged additional for more gas and charged for 2 gallons when it shouldn't have been more than a single gallon. The amount of gas I put in, and I have the receipt, and the additional 2 gallons by the uhaul store, means I was getting less than 6 (SIX) miles per gallon...None of this is ok, I need to rent a truck a couple times of year due to purchasing furniture, I will find another store to do my business with.Audra N.
We blew a tire while driving across the country because the PSI was way higher than it should have been (measured and confirmed by the tire tech that replaced our tire on the side of the highway). He let air out of the two other rear tires to adjust so we wouldn't have a repeat. Majorly disappointed that the negligence of a UHaul staff member put me at risk.Meredith W.

The person at the desk was FANTASTIC! She gets a 11 out of 10. However, the van itself smelled heavily of smoke, so much so that the couch I picked up now smells of smoke, too, although it came from a non-smoking home.Jonathan W.
The description of the trailer I originally booked said 6 by 12 but the opening with the ramp was only about 4 and a 1/2 feet wide making it COMPLETELY USELESS as a 6X12 trailer You better fix that because I've now heard MULTIPLE accounts of people being screwed over that way getting to a destination only to find their item cant fit through the entrance/ramp opening, if I didn't notice it before I left for my 4 hour round trip I would have been much more than pissed off and I'd say that trailer would have ended up in a scrap yard by my doing and my card being shut down before it could be charged. Fix that fucking trailer or explicitly say that in BOLD on the website. Luckily there was a 6 by 12 without a ramp available And I was able to make that work And the woman I dealt with was very kind and helpful.Casey C.

When I returned the trailer, the girl who assisted me At the taco main location was rude and had a real attitude, when she asked me to unhook the trailer and help her move it and I told her I had a bad back. I had paid for a dolly to be included with the rental. When I picked up my dolly on Friday (3/4/22) at your Sanford location there was no dolly in the uhaul. This error set me back a day in my moving process as I needed the dolly to move appliances. I then spoke with a very kind lady through customer service who agreed that was unfavorable and offered an additional day for free. The very next day I was being harassed by I believe your general manager of maine or something. It was a woman. She actually threatened my wife and I and said she would track us down to return the truck. After this threat we frantically returned the truck to the lot that night. Somehow in your system it says I owe an outstanding balance to you. Even though I have a bank statement as proof that I was charged. uHaul had setup auto pay for our storage unit, that way once the free month was over it would automatically bill us. uHaul failed to bill us for July and August. Forcing our account to show as unpaid. Despite a $2 authorization charge showing on our bank statement - clearly showing that uHaul had access to bill our account. The staff @ Saco U-Haul was great, and the facility is really nice U-haul had an issue in that it confused me with somebody else in their system and initiall prevented the rental from going through, but when the standard customer support from U-haul was evidently failing, the staff reached out "behind the scenes" to expedite the resolution and bring it to a great conclusion - they saved the day and made my experience a positive one.Jeff J. | Premières impressions

Jen Strout was great however, this facility needs more staff. I have had issues with a truck not being available when I reserved it, having their systems down when I wanted one and although it was there, they could not rent because they could not get into the computer. I would not use the auto payment system for storage lease again as I have had an issue with it. Also I can NEVER get anyone on the Phone causing me to have to go in person and wait in a long line to speak with someone as only one person is working there. There was a disconnect with corporate U Haul and the Saco U Haul with every purchase we made Ordered a truck through corporate, changes to made to drop off location by corporate with subsequent un- known changes to pick up and need for us to drive to Freyburg (2 hours away 1 way) to get our truck. Saco was unable to help. I paid a trailer hitch 1 x through corporate, not received in Saco, and 2 x at the Saco office (?credit card machine not working, they never called me back but froze my account). I called 24 hours in advance to make sure our Uboxes were unloaded and ready to pack first thing in the morning. I spoke with the manager/staff twice the day before. When I arrived to unload the boxes at 7am, they had not been prepared. It took 1 hour to get that sorted out, during which time I was paying movers hourly to sit around. The email I got said access hours were from 5am to 10pm Monday - Sunday and the manager refused to honor that. When asked for a refund I was hung up on. Basically the manager doesn't know how to manage and I missed an entire day of work to move my things in because she didn't want to get out of bed and honor the email I got. The staff was so very helpful, that I was comfortable during the whole procedure. Moving is never ease but storing our home products at this U-Haul helped a complicated task. This was the cleanest and nicest u-haul I have ever seen. I appreciate very one that helped and guided me through the process and would always recommend the U-Haul in Saco Maine.
