I was never actually in the unit. The two units I do have are fine and I expect to be moving out in a few months. The manager, Casey Griffin, is exceptional! Her staff, though not always able to provide answers or resolve a problem, are always very friendly and they do try their best to solve problems. I will tell you that the experience of renting the u-boxes in Napa was nightmarish and I would never use the service again. Why does this matter? Because my husband and daughter are moving here in March and they won't be using U-haul because of problems I had. We had great success when our boxes arriving in starting state and being transported to our new state. The store there never had our boxes out when requested and we often waited up to 50 minutes once we arrived to have our box brought out. We had trouble getting access on our last day to empty our boxes and finally the assistant manager or manager agreed to come in early to bring our boxes out after the staff and himself saying we couldn't do it until the next day so over 24 hrs later.Chris W.

I reserved a truck and a furniture dolly well in advance. When I arrived at this location. The person named Casey told me there was no furniture dolly and they were all on the east coast. I asked the person why I wasn't contacted prior because honestly with no dolly the truck would do me no good as I cannot lift a 300 pound sofa the distance required between the doors and the truck. The person told me they could call another store and ask if they had one. I said yes. The person found us a furniture dolly but also made us travel to another location and pick up the item ourselves. Additionally, the person made it seem a chore to show me which vehicle I would be taking and only continued to point.. never would walk to the truck or near the truck so I could figure out which one in the line of three trucks it was. As I picked up the truck, the message on the dash was low air pressure on front left tire. The gas level on the contract said 1/2 full, but it was between 1/2 and 3/8. I originally requested a truck but it was not available on pickup day. The 10' truck was substituted, but did not have ramp (I knew this upon substitution).John M.

I was told online that this was a drive up and store facility and when I got there it was not. The only available storage was a good 300 plus foot walk from the loading dock. Carts were provided but to have to make several trips would not be convenient for me. The staff was good and told me they would cancel my reservation. OMG to say Casey is GREAT at what she does is an understatement…. I called several different Uhauls places and got the Uhaul call center which I got a call back from the local site saying the call center has overbooked them and they needed to change my pick up time. I took a chance and called Casey's store and was told to come on and a truck would be waiting for me.. Got there and she made it happen .. our other storage plans fell through and again I called Casey and said hey I need storage and she said I got you when you get here … she is a problem solver .. and worked to make her customers happy… what stood out the most is when she explained something to me and my response was really Casey you should have said this and she said "but I will not go home with that on my conscious because that would not be the truth ".. she was a blessing !!! I used this location as a drop off for my trailer, I picked up a trailer and I rented a unit. All the staff were super friendly and very helpful. The forgot to check my unit out when I moved out and I was charged, but when I went in to talk to them about it they were very apologetic and helpful. They made things right. The corporate stores are far superior to dealers. The Sanford storage location - Josh & Caleb were so helpful in getting me a unit that would hold all my belongings; there were several issues with reserving online but they got it figured out.Karrah Z. | Online Move In
On two separate occasions, the employee(s) tried to say that my debit card was not on file when it clearly was. This was confirmed by Kaitlin. The first time it resulted in us leaving our things in the truck overnight, Just so happened we had a lock. The second night (last night) that guy tried to say we didn't have a card on file , according to my Son ( I was not with him) the guy was dropping the "F" bomb repeatedly. My son was there with just his girl friend. The guy gave him an upstairs room , knowing he was by himself with a hutch and a five piece dinette set. Having worked all day, my Son asked if he would help him really quick and was told no but if he hung around for 2-3 hours he would help him when he got off work.Deborah K. | Premières impressions

While the staff was helpful and nice, we had an issue with the storage unit we initially reserved. We had to get another unit. We were on a time crunch and 30 minutes was wasted trying to find a unit that was available for us. Thankfully the staff was super friendly and made accommodations. I think that uhaul needs a better system to make it easier for staff and in the future, they don't run into the issue of people reserving units that aren't actually available.Abraham N. | Premières impressions

I had put above average rating, but there are 2 huge issues I have to note, and after writing them out I dropped it to average. 1) the alarm in the storage area. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or rain why it goes off, but I was there laying for 2 hours and it seemed to go off every 5 minutes. It's ear piercing, which is good, but when there are several people logged into the system, it shouldn't go off that much. 2) I didn't expect to be as tall as the ceiling in the locker. Very low height, and one has a pole right snack dab in the middle. That made loading furniture difficult. If I only had that locker, would've been impossible. Clean, well lit facility. Friendly staff. Lockers were supposed to be picked for me before I returned with my stuff, but weren't. Good thing I got there early enough to do all the selection process before my moving help arrived.Brent E. | Premières impressions

What could have been a horrible moving experience, was made pleasant due to the resourcefulness of manager, Casey Griffins. I believe that Casey is an asset to the organization because of: high level of professionalism, ability to diffuse situations, caringness, humility, and just being a genuine human being. First staff member told me we could have our Uboxes moved to storage area anytime during business hours and no need to schedule ahead of time. Second employee told me we needed to give a 24 hour notice, so I gave 72 hour notice. Showed up at 0730 and staff member informed us forklift operator doesn't start until 8:30. Wish they would have told me this when I scheduled. Then staff member couldn't find our storage unit reservation so we spent time getting that set up. 8:30 comes and no sign of forklift operator so employee texts him and was told he's on his way. Operator did not arrive until 9:10or later. We waited until 9:30 and no sign of boxes, went to office and no one told him we were waiting for boxes. He was very polite and got the boxes moved quickly. Staff members need trained on dealing with Ubox customers because every time I spoke to someone, I was told something different. I have also tried for 2 weeks to talk to Kasey about getting a discount and I'm always told she'll be in at such and such time, but when I call she's not there. I spent 2 hours waiting around for our Uboxes due to poor communication by your staff. I would like a 20 % monthly discount for the inconvenience your team caused my family.
