Using mobile 24/7 truck service was very complicated and truck didn't seem properly prepared, ended up having to go inside to complete my rental.

The empty U-box was dropped off two hours outside the four hour window provided to me by the driver, due to which I had to reschedule the moving helpers to the next morning. I was told that the U-box can only be picked around 9am the next day, so I had to reschedule the box pick up by one more day so that the helpers could load the box in the morning. As I was going to be on a plane later that evening, I spoke with the driver on the morning of pick up (Friday) and the driver agreed to pick my box the first thing after her drop offs. The driver eventually came for pick-up at 5:30pm (but I was on the plane) and somehow couldn't locate the box left at the apartment community loading area!! The driver then left a voicemail me to locate the box (I was still on the plane). After landing I called the driver and left text msgs, but I got no response and followed up on Saturday and Monday without any response. The box was eventually picked up on Tuesday (4 days after the original pick up date), cascading the delays to transportation and delivery date. Lost 4 days for no fault of mine!! I expected the drivers to follow the time they provided both for delivery and pick up of the U-box. Disappointed.

The staff was VERY accommodating from drop off to pickup. I was moving quickly after 40 years in the same house, so things were crazy with lots of emotions. They were able to be flexible on the pickup of my 3 boxes. I had waaay too many pads, but then that was probably because I gave away most of my actual furniture. They called to let me know when they'd arrive for drop off and pickup. They did GREAT!!

The truck I rented was not well maintained, is borderline unsafe, and should be either removed from service or completely overhauled. There was an exhaust leak that fed into the cab of the truck and we had to keep the window open at slow speeds or stopped to vent the cab. This made us nauseous and gave us headaches on our 2 1/2 hour drive each way.

First of all, my ubox arrived 1 day late. When I tried to schedule delivery and unload service, everyone in the office was so confused. Each time I called the location, they would say something new. Eventually I was able to book my delivery and unload service (and I got confirmation). When my movers showed up at the uhaul facility, uhaul had a wrong date for delivery/unload service. For some reason, they charged me for an additional ubox, which I did not request or use. When I called to resolve the issue, no one was able to find the correct transaction details.

To improve the next guest's experience: Do not change the location of their pickup the day before without compensation on a mileage-dependent reservation. Do not issue a beat up trailer with an illegible license plate that won't fit the car (which we informed them we were hauling). Do not force me to rent a pickup truck to tow if I have a vehicle that is perfectly capable of towing.

The irritation of the alarms on the truck casts a pall on the otherwise good condition of the truck. The incessant blaring of these alarms can cause a customer to consider renting from another company next time. Consider limiting these alarms to what is normal for cars and trucks.

My rental was reserved three weeks in advance. They called two days before pick-up to tell me I had to drive somewhere else to pick up the truck then drive to the Santa Clara location to pick up the tow dolly. I said NO, and told them to get the truck delivered on time. When I arrived to pick up the truck and tow dolly the contract issues for some reason took half an hour to straighten out and the truck and tow dolly were not drive-away ready even after the half-hour hassle of completing two contracts. Then, broken tail light on the tow dolly that I had to fix temporarily with tape to keep the right blinker working and the dozen moving pads were not inside the truck.

Mike, Your UHaul facility is the best in the US, seriously. I have had an excellent experience the last six months renting a 10x10 storage unit, and trucks on two occasions. The entire team was helpful. Donna keeps the facilities so clean, something that matters so much to me. So for all of the great service by you and your team, Thank You! Moving out of the South Bay is hard. Having you all be our last impression of what great service is, priceless.

The work was excellent, we waited to be called when work was completed est 1 1/2 hours, no one ever called, called 4 times and ended up speaking central customer service, NEVER got through to the actual store. No one knew, so just showed up three hours after the scheduled completion... Making the reservations was also messed up, we were scheduled for installation on Sunday, the store called and said they do no install on Sundays, thankfully before we left the house. The off site customer service does not know what the actual locations are doing. We use U Haul for propane and will continue. Other services we might if we talk to the location in person, over the phone NOT.

The trailer I rented was covered in a whitish green powder on the inside. I had to sweep it out. There was a strong odor of a gasoline spill that happened prior to my use. I would have asked for a replacement but I was in desperate need of this trailer.

I have great experience with uhaul and am amazed how easy the whole process was. The staff were very helpful to provide the information. And what is truly amazing is when I mentioned I opt out the insurance, there was no persuading of buying insurance and staff suggested taking pictures since we didn't buy any coverage. Will definitely recommend this location.

The air conditioner would work for about 30 seconds and then would not work for 5 to10 minutes. I finally turned it off and rolled down the windows. The truck otherwise was the best (power and low miles - 37K) I have ever rented from UHaul.

I choose my truck pick up option to mobile pick up but couldn't do it. I was blocked on the step of driver's license verification because I don't have a California driver's license but international driver's license. The online system was lazy. So I had to transfer my truck pick up option to the local shop with the help of the staff Nathal (? sorry, don't remember the exact name). He was so kind and very helpful. I'm so appreciate of him.

The included miles were short, I still had to pay extra after convincing the manager to increase them 5%. The gas mileage was not as advertised, 50 gallons for 420 miles is barely 8 mpg, not 10. The supplies I ordered were never shipped, fortunately the center had them anyway. We had to go out of our way to pick up and drop off the truck, not from where we reserved it.

Was given a truck that had no gas, was told I could return it empty and when i did was forced to go get gas to get it to 1/4 tank (which was not disclosed). The rear view mirror on the passenger side was also dangerously loose leading me to being stuck in 1 lane the entire drive in fear of hitting someone since I could not see. Overall terrible experience.

Santa Clara, U Haul Customer Service, U Haul Transpo. dispatch were all very helpful and accommodating. Thank you. The MovingHelp.com part of the service was completely useless and created a lot of problems for me. My credit card was improperly charged. The customer service number I tried to call several times. No one ever picked up. I tried their online chat, no one ever picked up the two times I tried to use it. Even the local company hired to move the u-box to the final destination had no way of contacting MovingHelp. Very strange that UHaul chooses to use them as a third party. Every matter that I was told had to do with MovingHelp, I was told that in order to get help I had to call UHaul direct.to get any action taken. MovingHelp's involvement in my order was a complete mystery to me.

I had booked and pre-paid my rental online on March 23 for the Fremont location on Grimmer. I received a call that the equipment I wanted, a 10 foot truck plus and auto-transport, would only be available at the Laurelwood Drive location in Santa Clara. Mike Souza from the Laurelwood location called me on Tuesday March 27 to confirm my rental and pick up at 7:30AM on March 28th. I pre-paid and pre-registered online because quick pick-up was assured if I did this. When I arrived at the Laurelwood location at 7:30AM I had hoped they ready to load my vehicle on to the transport as promised. Instead Michael was having problems with the computer system and he said he had to re-write my contract. I informed him that I had paid in advance and he assured me that I would not be charged twice, yet upon checking my records I see that I was charged twice. It was also close to 9am when I finally was on my way.. Michael did issue a credit to my account of $121 for the inconvenience, but still I was charged twice for the rental.

I told him it will not fit in the socket, he said just keep the bulb in the unit. All 3 of the workers told me they need to check with district manager. I believe this is a major liability!

If a person reserves a 20’ vehicle provide a 20’ vehicle or at least call with enough time to make arrangements. I was called the day of that a 20’ was not available. The closest was was 100 miles away. Now tell me would you agree to pick up a vehicle on your dime to pick up. Tell if you would not be piss I should have just canceled. If this is the case again I will never rent from u haul again you were not the cheapest you were the closest. Next I’m going on yelp and if you loose customers I will be happy. I had to do two trips. Your truck are not that gas efficient so I had to pay on top of the extra three hours of driving. Your representative had the nastiest attitude as well when I wouldn’t take no for answer. Well at least she gave me an extra day for moving but I had to spent extra days driving and money on gas. Your going to give me back my gas money. No your not! Thanks for making a stressful move more stressful. Btw I make my reservation with two weeks and I’m told the day of that the vehicle size is not available. I should go to a news channel and embarrass the shot out of you and see how much business you will loose and how much money it will cost you to get back to what it was.

I rented a dolly and we never used it—it stayed attached to the wall of the box truck. I just saw the receipt and it claims that the dolly was missing. This is more than just an error on UHaul’s part. It’s theft.

The staff and Management were friendly, had great customer service skills and made my move more easier. Glad I stopped to checkout this location out for extra utility dollies and blankets. My other location in Oakley for pickup was a disaster...said they were sold out, when I got to the lot they had 6 on hand and enough moving blankets. Sad for them and business for Santa Clara U-Haul moving and Storage from me. We just moved to the area and I can not thank them enough for creating a solution for me, looking to get storage here in the near future. Shoutout to the Santa Clara location on delivering excellence in customer service!

The staff at the location is very nice. I do, however, hate the fact that the vehicles are delivered with 3/8 of a tank or some other odd fraction of a full tank. I find it disrespectful and somewhat a scam suggesting that U-haul is trying to get more gas. This is my only complaint.

Could have solidly stated you will need your mobile phone at the pickup location - brought in store to complete the in store experience with photo graph your the license, it was an unexpected event and I had to go back outside to get my phone. Really felt that I shouldnt have to photograph my own license for you if I am in store - you should have been able to make that hassle free, I had my license with me but instead it was on me to go get my phone. Not a great experience.
