If you make a reservation for the morning and can't pick up truck until late afternoon, call otherwise your reservation will be canceled, even if your reservation are for the full day. Happened to me, fortunately there was still a 10' truck available.

All good except tried to use the after hours check in on my cell phone and the location screen would not work. Could not get past that screen. Would not let me type in my location. I went home and tried the same on home computer but no dice. Was charged a late fee for not checking it in. Not my fault. Was limitations of uhaul cell phone ap.

Customer service seemed bothered that they had to do their job. I believe it's the career they have chosen for the time being. What ever happened to friendly customer service? At least fake like you're semi friendly. Oh well, the service served my purpose. Maybe I'm just getting old.

They need to let there customer service Reps the time frame as to how long it is going to take to get your vehicle done. I was told by 3 different people it would take an hour and it took almost 3 Don't get me wrong I don't mind a little longer , but a courtesy call would have been great. Because when I called the service rep I was on the phone with kept putting me on hold and I wasn't happy. I had it done 4 days ago and I still HAVEN't received a call from the manager Philipp Wobig yet. I'm NOT very happy. I even tried again on Monday the 23rd to call again and of course i got the run around as to why I couldn't speak to him. So if someone in the management position could call me I would appreciate it. This location installed my hitch. the people there said all the lights on the trailer worked fine, this was not the case, The Only light working was the left turn signal ! I discovered this on the night of my move. I called U-Haul service they came out and said that the trailer lights worked fine and the problem was with my 2017 Acura. I went back to the dealer the next morning when they opened with my fully loaded trailer. I was told they were to busy to look at it and to go to the Acura Dealer. The Acura dealer diagnosed and fixed the botched wiring job from U-Haul.This cost me $150.... Never again will I use U-Haul .their tech(????) really screwed up my wiring !

Walked into the store and requested help. I wanted to return my equipment. I was told to go to the U-Haul website. He then proceeded to answered the phone when it rang. This act ended our conversation. He was refusing to wait on me. The store was completely void of customers at the time. Truck needed to be inspected upon return so his attitude took me by surprise. I walked outside and headed to my Jeep. I am sure I made some comments out loud as I walked outside. Another employee, who I believe was on he lunch at the time, overheard me and he came over to help me. He took my information and had me checked in quickly. Probably less then 5 minutes. Even gave me a receipt. He was very polite while he looked over the truck. He was great. I am grateful he was there. He was professional the whole time. He asked me how the truck ran. So I told him my thoughts on the truck. We were very happy with the truck. This employee saved the day. My hats off to him. He did all the things he should have to make me feel like I was welcome at this location. One bad employee can really hurt a business. In this case one great one can save it. Thanks to whoever that second employee was, I’m just so glad he was there. I left a happy camper.

I was originally scheduled to have my hitch installed in the Hammond location. I had scheduled it and paid in full on 9/9/19, 1 week before the appointment day. I arrived to my appointment on 9/16 and was informed that Ryan the person who does the installation did not come in due to an injury. I understand that people do get injured but no one bothered to call me and let me know that I needed to reschedule or try to accommodate me at another facility. I live about 40 minutes away from the Hammond facility. I left my number and was informed I would receive call back and I did the next day. Ryan called me back the next day and he was very rude, unfriendly, and had a negative demeanor over the phone. He made me feel like he didn’t care about me being inconvenienced. If anything I felt like I had inconvenienced him. My service was paid before my appointment and he told me that I had to pay more money for the installation. I guess U-Haul online only charged me for 30 min fee for installation and 30 min fee for wiring. He continued to tell me it would take 2 hours and that I would have to pay the difference. His attitude and the tone in which he was talking to me was unprofessional period. He set me up for an appointment in Schererville on 9/19. On 9/18 I received a call from the Schererville location and spoke to Phillip and asked me if I could come in and get the hitch installation that day instead of the following, I agreed and headed there. When I got there I met Phillip and his ID said “owner”. He was very nice and friendly, total opposite from Ryan. He told me it would take about 2 hrs and said they would call me when it was ready. I went to have breakfast across the street and was texted within and hour letting me know the service was complete. I went back and was surprised and I guess he was too because it didn’t take as long as he anticipated. I told that I liked that he was so nice because I didn’t get the same customer service experience at the Hammond location. I could see by the look in his face that he had the same problem with Ryan. Phillip was just overall GREAT! I didn't have to pay more for my labor like Ryan told me because it didn’t take that long. I was looking to purchase a lock for the trailer I was going to rent and he said it was on him for the bad experience I had with the Hammond location and Ryan. He is really about giving great customer service and I really appreciate that. I wasn’t asking for anything extra than what I had paid for. He also contacted the Hammond location and requested them to refund the money in full since I had the service done in Schererville. So instead of them transferring my service they made a whole new order for me which Phillip and myself were not aware of. I did pay again and I’m waiting for the Hammond location to email me regarding my refund. It’s been 4hrs and I haven’t received any email. If I don’t hear from them today I will surely call them tomorrow and ask. Schererville was about 1hr away
