The registration for the vehicle was way too long.There should be a faster process seeing I have been a customer for over 3 years. If all my information is already there why did I have to re enter all that information again?

Booked my u haul in advance and was moved to 3 different locations in 3 days adding 3 hours to my trip (1 1/2 hours each way) And went over on my storage unit because of the delay. Was put on hold for 30 minutes with no response (photos available). Next call I was told my location pick up was original but never received phone or email confirmation. Also booked a 5x8 trailer and was given a 6-12 which way oversized for what I needed and brought my mileage down and caused another gas stop! Overall just a horrible experience with U haul and will not be using them again.

I was required to use my iphone and once again insert all of the information that I had previously completed on the computer. Then U-Haul required that I list an emergency contact number (this was new and unnecessary), and you insisted upon calling this contact #. I will never again rent from UHAUL!

U-Haul continues to accommodate clients who do not use a smart phone. Clients can use a U-Haul at the desk but cannot take it out to the parking lot for vehicle inspection. Many people CHOOSE not to use a smart phone and U-Haul is basically telling them to take a hike.

I was over charged at the East Orange NJ location on Freeway Drive. When I called to ask why I was charged an extra day for usage, insurance and $60 for flat taxes, I was told I must see manage who would not be available within the next 48 hours. I was impressed with the efficiency of the only employee at counter attending the customers when I arrived. Although the the employee was trying to service as many people at once, there was a need for at least one more agent working at the counter.

Issues with check-in. I clicked check-in in store but was told i had to check-in online. I was having issues with both of my phones for some reason and it wouldn't recognize my location and still wasn't allowed to check-in at the desk. Was then told I could use the workers phone to check-in which is ridiculous. The truck also smelled like someone had been smoking in it.

Terrible. Got the run around for almost 40 minutes when I tried to drop off. The woman working in the office had no awareness of customer service, at one point I thought she was actually trying to help me find someone in the lot so I followed her until she walked across the street to pick up her kid from school. I wandered the lot looking for someone for ten more minutes until someone came to help me. He was helpful but clearly new and didn't entirely know what he was doing. I would never return to this location.

The process of taking pictures of my drivers license in addition to taking headshots and uploading them was deplorable and demeaning, to say the least. As if the onsite representative wasn't competent to validate me against my drivers license. But it didn't end there, I was then forced to utilize my cell phone to make the reservation, while at the service counter. It eventually died due to low battery after multiple unsuccessful attempts, when there was a functional and available computer at the desk. It would have made more sense if there was i.e., a kiosk at the Uhaul facility where customers can make reservations instead of relying on their own untested equipments and network service. The experience was awful and the registration process was ultimately extended due to a myriad of technology issues and wasted time. In the end, the customer rep (very graceful) provided a Uhaul company cell phone for me to register the vehicle. Previous registration experiences took approximately 10 minutes versus the newly implemented process of 35 minutes.

The manager at this facility is unprofessional. I asked if I could use this facility to store my motorcycle and they said yes. During the few months at this facility I exchanged numbers with four other customers who have their bike stored there as well. One day the manager approched me and told me to remove the motorcycle from the facility, no bikes are allowed. That put me in a tight spot. If I was told from the begining that no motorcycles were allowed I would have chose another location. The manager has 4 other bikes at this location being stored that I know of. This shows me his poor management skills and he is responsible for leaving customers greatly inconvienced. I will never use U- HAUL or ever refer U-HAUL to anyone as long as I live, especially that mis managed location.

All the staff were friendly and offered assistance right away. The rep I worked with to set up my unit was extremely helpful, personable and thorough, making sure to cover all the details and answer any of my questions. I worked with her both over the phone and in person and she truly made the experience easy and stress free.

I would recommend this facility, however, it is the second time my bill was wrongly charged. I have the pictures of the gas level when I picked up the van and when I returned it. I just checked my bill and am being charged $34 for gas. I am waiting for a call from customer service to have it changed.

I've rented vans and trucks from this facility roughly six times a year, over the past four years and for some unforeseen reason, I'm always over charged. The problem is the miscalculation of the gas gauge levels. I always return with the gauge about what it was when I received the vehicle.

This is the only location worth dealing with. Originally I booked with the north newark location and the customer service was horrible! No communication, associates placing people on hold to discuss lunch and how much they can't wait to leave and just rude. Although i had to commute from there to Orange because they didn't communicate that the truck I reserved was gone. This facility displayed a sense of urgency. The representatives were very helpful and respectful even the atmosphere felt different. I used this location before and will make this my permanent location. A lot of Uhaul franchises could learn a lot from this location. I rate this location 100000000/10 if I could!

Make sure vehicles have tools to change a tire, without the customer being left to pay out of their personal pocket for roadside service. If l didnt have the funds to cover towing fees. What would of happen to me? They stopped taking my calls at this location, where l was automatically switched to waiting list on hold. Stranded on 95, and U haul had no say so to helping me, unless l paid for roadside service. $285.00. I felt abandoned, neglected, and ignored at my own expense. Sitting still hours and all l got was a switchboard to be waited to talk to someone. Im insulted as a human being at such a large corporation in status. The employees there do not update their system after each transaction with a customer. Be sure to take pictures of everything otherwise they will beat you out of your money and take unauthorized transactions out of your account. I rented a truck and the odometer said something way different than the link they sent me. When I informed them about it, the employee said she would let her manager deal with it the next day. The next day came and my account had an unauthorized transaction from Uhaul. I didn't get a phone call a text or anything telling me what was going on with the truck I was rented. Horrible I tell you just plane horrible.

When I went to Pick up the truck there was know one at the front desk and when I returned the same thing plus others that were ahead of Me said they had been waiting about 20 min.This experience was by far the worst I've ever had after numerous times of renting from uhaul!!!!! I find it utterly ridiculous that we have to do all the work while they do nothing.Also I was told My receipt would be emailed to me up to now haven't received it.Just rented from them about 2 months ago and The Whole experience was different.Never going back to this location!!!!!!

The rental process wasn't satisfactory. To require more than one contact number to rent equipment is unnecessary, two is ridiculous and absurd. Upon my return of the rental, there was an agent busy cleaning the counter and seemed reluctant to tend to me. It turned out the agent didn't know how to handle returns. The agent went back to the other room to confer with another agent and came back and said I will receive the closing of my contract in email. I wasn't satisfied and comfortable with this response as how would they know I returned the equipment being there was nothing to scan in. I pressed on requesting my contract be closed and with great inconvenience, the other agent came in and worked on closing my contract, printing out the original contract, which I didn't need or require, and printing out the receipt closing out the contract with total fees charged. I saw the business card of the general manager and was tempted to use it to call and complain, but didn't.

In my opinion, the facility could be better with rodent control. I'm very upset to have found rodent droppings all over the unit and finding droppings while unpacking my belongings,. I'm thoroughly discussed! I was previously with a Union NJ storage company for over 10 years and had no issue. Your rates increased last year, I was told the increase was to cover installation for the 2nd elevator, prior to my move out, no 2nd elevator.

Why do we have to do everything on line? While the employees were courteous and friendly, the online do it yourself experience wad horrible. It took over an hour to just register once I got to the location. You must realize that dome people are technically challenged!

In the process of applying for reimbursement for items that I was charged for that I didn't want or received. Even though, the operation was organized, everyone was very helpful and it wasn't a long wait for service. There was one young lady who seemed to be in charge and she seemed very knowledgeable and efficient in handling potential problems. I should have went back into the office and let her know that the items that the rep checked off on were not in the van. I'm sure she could have solved the problem easily and avoided me from being over charged. Didn't think about it until after van was turned in and i was on my way home.

The day I was moving out my storage the automatic doors were not unlocked … told the office rep 3 times to please unlock the doors … advise the rep I am paying movers by the hour and it was slowing them down moving my furniture out the little side door … after 30 minutes rep opened the door but by then it was too late … movers charged me $150 due to I went over my moving time.

Jonathan Diaz and his staff were knowledgeable, polite, professional, accommodating and went above and beyond to help us out during a stressful time in our lives. They explained the storage facility's rules, requirements and safety precautions in great detail which helped us feel confident in our decision to store our belongings with u-haul.. I had some issues with my online reservation and there was not unit available for me. The staff took my number and called me as soon as a unit became available. I am all set with what I needed thanks to the staff.

Very disappointed when I took my things out of storage. There was rat droppings. I often go into the storage and NEVER seen that before. Someone renting other storage units must have food stored in their storage. Now I have to worry about the possibility of taking something with me to my new home. I'm very upset

There is a young lady who works there who is just wonderful. Always helpful and pleasant. I wish I knew her name. She was the one who arrange the last transaction for me. I was moving and every single time I came for supplies she went out of her way to be kind, courteous and helpful. She is great and should be a supervisor - others could follow her lead.

The staff was very courteous and accommodating. I arrived a day earlier than I had expected and the staff revised my checkin and trailer drop off to accommodate my needs. The facility is very clean and secure.

When I moved out I realized I lost the lock key. The staff made me feel as though I was a bother when asked for assistance to have my lock removed. This is the worst customer service received by this facility.

sign up front says 8x10 units are $64,99 but you don't honor that in the store - was not given any explanation - I find that to be a bit annoying that the company is just blatantly lying, but then again you are u-haul, have no competition, and you get away with everything...

I had a very good experience overall --excellent maintenance of the facility and helpful and professional staff. However, billing was oftentimes erratic and inconsistent, resulting in over-charges that required personally contacting UHaul to try to fix. For example, most recently, after announcing a rate increase for a unit (3502), charges for the new amount started BEFORE the increase was supposed to take place. Sometimes charges went in twice. Unfortunately, online reviews suggest that this was an experience shared by other customers.
