I reserved a truck on Sunday June 26 to pick up at 6pm on Thursday June 30. I reserved it from Thursday at 6pm until Sunday at 6pm. I was confirmed and I have the printout to prove it. On Thursday the 30th around 10am I received a call from the Shillington Uhaul by a gentleman who started out the conversation stating I see you have a reservation for a truck for 3 days. I said yes I do. He stated well that isn't going to happen - you can't have my truck for 3 days. I asked why as the website allows you to pick your length of need and charges accordingly - you can pick up to 10 days on the website. He stated we don't honor the website and you aren't taking my truck for 3 days. I again asked why as I questioned what difference it makes if I keep it for 3 days and pay for it or he rents it to someone else for the same time period. He said I hear what you are saying but corporate doesn't allow you to rent a truck for 3 days. I was suspicious about this since you can reserve it online for 3 days and get a confirmation as to when to return the truck etc. I questioned since I rented this on Sunday why it took until the day of my pickup to let me know that I couldn't have it for 3 days and he got huffy and stated this was the first day he had a chance to look at it. I asked him why that was my problem when he had at least 3 prior days to see I reserved the truck for 3 days and he got ugly and stated if you want to act like that I don't even have to have a truck available for you. I told him he is leaving me in a bad position because now it is too late to book with someone else and I need the truck as I have hired movers for the 1st & 2nd of July because we are moving from Berks County to Scranton and I can't have the truck back any sooner than Sunday. He actually said to me that I wasn't willing to budge on the 3 days. No kidding - I have paid people based on my contract to do a job. He then suggested I do an after hours return on Saturday night. I begrudgingly agreed to that because I needed the truck, however it ruined all the plans I had in Scranton to get the home ready and unloaded and drive the truck back on Sunday to Berks County. I called corporate on Thursday the 30th immediately after this phone call from the Shillington Uhaul. They told me there was no reason I couldn't have rented the truck for the 3 days that I had originally reserved the truck for. They took my information on Thursday the 30th and stated they were emailing the manager of Shillington UHaul and the managers manager and I should get a call back. It is now Sunday July 3rd and I have never received a call back from anyone at Uhaul. I would also like to mention that the gentleman that waited on me at the time of truck pickup on Thursday evening was very nice and showed me that my truck was now booked to someone else on Sunday which is why I believe I couldn't have it for my 3 days that included Sunday. The other gentleman from earlier that day wanted to get a rental fee from someone else so Uhaul could make more money which is not fair because I had already contracted it. The gentleman who called me on the phone to make me change my reservation was extremely rude and should not be a person dealing with the public. Had he said I see you have a truck reservation for 3 days however we made a mistake and double booked your truck, maybe I would have been a little more compassionate as that is the truth. Instead - he told me corporate doesn't allow 3 day truck rentals and I'm not taking his truck for 3 days. He needs a lesson in how to talk to people. Corporate apologized and did not understand why I was told that. I then returned the truck around 930PM on the 2nd (Saturday night) and their easy return process was a nightmare. The App didn't work. I had to enter my information 6 times before giving up. I have the text messages to prove it took 6 times. The sign also said you can call an agent and check your truck back in that way. I called the number and it was at least a 40 to 50 minute wait. I was not waiting after all this drama was already in motion and I had been on the lot for an hour trying to get this truck checked in after hours. I'm sure they can see me on their cameras there for an hour trying to check the truck back in. . I got an email today that they checked the truck in at 10am this am. I will never use this location again for a Uhaul truck rental. Awful customer service experience.COREY S.

I've dealt with this location for years prior to my move to massachusetts. They've always been very very professional very friendly knowledgeable. From the manager on down. Chris has been particularly helpful and working through the issues that we have if there are any. This uhual was very nice well kept and clean the only problem we had was we had to go find someone to help us after we pulled into the drop off return lane and waited 10 minutes nobody came out when I finaly went in and got someone they said the person that was soppost to be out there was dealing with someone finally after several more minutes the guy that handled the check in returns came out and told us where to drop the trailer overall great place to do business with wish I would have dealt with them on the pickup side very friendly and helpfull little slow but made up for it with the personality and cleanlinessMELISSA W.

My experience with uhaul was horrible and I will never be using this service again. After reserving in advance I had to go to 3 different locations and sit on the phone on hold for a long time before I could even get a truck. After getting a truck I was charged an extra $55 for fuel which I was totally unaware I would be charged for. This made my entire moving experience way more stressful and unpleasant.Kevin B.

I've rented from this location before -- always treated well, and with respect. Equipment is always clean and well maintained. The issue I had with this rental had nothing to do with the location, but with Uhaul's reservation system itself. I'm not sure what went on, but you guys promised me one trailer, confirmed another, then reconfirmed another, and then switched to another. My head is still spinning...Steven H.

I have video of dropping off Saturday night, after hours, at location my paperwork said to drop off. Due back Sunday. I dropped off early.I contacted customer service on the due date (Sunday) to make sure they knew drop off was closed Sunday. Did that so I would not be charged. I have screen shot of chat saying I will not be charged. I was charged. Submitted a â€œcaseâ€. Honestly, it was a hassle and a half, but I cannot fault the team at U-Haul shillington. They were very friendly and accommodating, as well as being apologetic about what happened. I had initially intended to get a truck at a location closer to my old house, as it was close by and convenient, however I learned- day of my move no less- that the actual pickup location was a place literally an hour away. I was also told I'd get a call from a representative about my reservation by six pm the night before, but didn't. So I immediately cancelled and rebooked for the shillington store, but was double-booked and forced to move my pickup back from 8:30 to 12. On top of all that, when I arrived to pick up my truck, it had not yet been checked in, and then there was a systems failure, causing my pickup to be delayed another hour. All in all, it worked out eventually, but was likely just poor timing, so I want to give the benefit of the doubt and leave it at that.Malachi L.

Online said it was a out of town one way, when I got there is was a in town only so I spent 10 hours on the road to return the truck back to the location and when I ask if they had any other vehicles available that could be dropped of elsewhere I was told no, when I return the truck they had plenty of vehicles there. Not a thing the man at the pa store we picked up at went above and beyond to get us on the road , the only concern i have was the drop off location i Wales into the store to drop off the man said to just drop it and he would send an e mail , it would ive been nice if he had walked out and did a walk around with me after droping. When we arrived back to return the vehicle, we waited in line for several minutes. Then Ray appeared -- out of nowhere, as it were. If he had not appeared and told us that we didn't have to do anything more, we might still be sitting in line. You should have that site posted with a notice that it is not necessary to wait for the vehicles ahead to move on, before dropping the vehicle. Also, if Ray had not appeared, we would not have had any way to dispose of the keys.Ralph R.

No one was at the front desk even tho we had a reservation for a set pick up time. No other clients were there to occupy the staff either. We had to go to the garage and find someone. He then grumpily told us he'd be there in a bit. When he did appear, he ignored us and then just went straight to asking for our info for the reservation - no apology. Their license scanning program wasn't working and he was grumpy that he had to type it in. What should have taken 5 mins took 30, and we were on a schedule. I was in shock when I saw the space to store my objects and the size was no bigger then my closest for over $85 a month. This just isn't right. I have to cancel my space and look for another storage location which has caused a big inconvenience to my mom as I have been holding her stuff and paying for a Uhaul because I can't find storage. This location had my license a for about a month and acted like having my identification card was not a big deal. For this reason alone I called customer service and complained due to the lack of professionalism and regard. Customer service apologize for this location's behavior and said that I will be contacted by a manager within 72 business hours. I was never contacted so I followed up with another call to customer service who apologized and put in a specific request to the traffic control manager with a reference ID number of 2651806 and I should have been contacted within 72 business hours by this specific manager. Due to not receiving this call I called again and I was informed that the manager of the Shillington location Debra Antonelli said that she apologized so they closed out the case. However, I never received an apology from Debra and told the customer service agent that Debra lied and has never contacted me let alone apologize. A few days later I am contacted by Debra, which follows, "Hello. I am emailing to apologize if you felt that your issue was not serious matter and I am glad that you have your licence back. If there is something else that can be done for you in the future we will be here to serve you. Thank you for your business, have good day. Debra" My reply to this email was, "While I appreciate you reaching out and apologizing, I am unhappy with the fact that it took so long for me to receive an apology. I am also unhappy with the fact that a representative stated you previously reached out to me directly, apologized, and therefore the case was closed. However, this is the first time I received an apology. This apology does not sincerely apologize for the inconveniences your location caused me due to having my licence in your possession for a month. The apology does not cover the flippant behavior of Richard who chuckled at the fact that his colleague who I previously spoke to decided to mail the licence weeks after I gave her my address. This "apology" does not resolve my case and I believe I should be compensated for the inconvenience, unprofessionalism, and disrespect I received from your location. -Shyree J. Gonzalez" I did not receive any communication back. Due to all of this I decided I will no longer give my money to this company and removed my belongings to be stored with a company who are respectful, considerate, and professional. When I removed my belongings Debra (who did not wear a mask) serviced me and did not apologize for anything. I received an email that asked for my feedback and when I click the link it states that I've already given my feedback. Usually I'd think that this is a glitch but due to the lack integrity shown by this location I decided to give my feedback another way encase someone did something unprofessional and unethical again. I will also be reporting Debra and this location to the United States Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration since I have witnessed Debra interact with/service clients inside and outside the facility without wearing a mask.
