I don't think a store manager should be able to implement a minimum of an eighty five mile charge when you pick up your u haul When you don't have to do that online. And when their system is down and won't let you check in with your smartphone. They require you to do it through the store. And when I confronted the store manager about the mileage charge up front because I definitely am owed a refund. She said well. I decided to do that because I got sick of people lying. Maintain accurate records. My contract stated the gas tank was at 1/2 tank when I got my truck. It was at 3/8 at most. I took a time stamped picture before leaving and let the employee know & they said it would be fine. I also let the employee know when I returned it. I was still charged for 6G of gas despite filling it back to the same or above the level I received it.Daniel R.

The only issue I had was the appliance dolly. The handle would not stay in the locked position. The handle kept going past the bracket that was supposed to keep the handle lockedShane B.

This second experience with the Sioux City Uhaul location went well, but only because the general manager was not there this time. Upon move in to the storage units back at the beginning of July we had an awful experience with Lisa Smith and I requested someone to contact me about it because it was less than ideal and we had done nothing wrong and didn't deserve the way she was treating us.Peyton H. | Expérience générale

Very disappointed called in advance for a trailer with a ramp. When I picked up the trailer no ramp. Said it's the only trailer they had available. Your 24 hour to a 6 hour rental policy for the same price is a 400 % price increase. This is just ridiculous. Not even practical to actually move in that timeframe. Location great, uhaul policy, not so much.tim W.

Tow dolly had a bad vibration and shake when towing. Dropped off early in Sioux City Iowa not Fort Worth Texas where planned and still charged for full amount. We could get the door to deactivate but the door would not open. When we pushed the button to speak to someone no one answered. The garage doors are often red and won't open even there is no car in garage. A xouple of times we had to walk to the office and get help.IMELDA G. | Expérience générale

The employee who was working the counter inside was friendly, but the general manager of this U-haul location was extremely rude and made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable the whole time we were moving my stuff into the self storage facility. As far as we knew we were not doing anything wrong and were moving as fast as we could to get all of my stuff moved into the storage unit but she was approaching us constantly, being hostile and mean the entire time. I was suppose to have U-Haul for 24 hours and payed for 24 hours. I took it back after 5 and a half hours. I should have got it cheaper for bring it back in enough time for someone else to use. I shouldn't have been charging for 24 hours. Not happy about thatTroy I.
I had booked a storage unit and when I arrived it was no longer get reserved. I had gone through the reservation process the day prior so, I didn't presume there would be any issues. It was an easy fix but, I had grown impatient due to the stress from moving. So, I wanted things to go smoothly. Then when returning the u-haul I was charged a mileage fee of 180.00. I had averaged the amount of miles out with the customer service rep. when booking the U-Haul when we had gone over the details of the trip. The main problem I have had at this location is access to my unit. The security system has been down on more then a few occasions. Is very frustrating when you are unable to get to your unit. On Sunday June 4th to motion censor was not working for pulling into to garage. You had to deactivate and then open door from inside. On Tuesday June 6th the outside deactivation was not working but the motion censor on the garage doors were. Makes it very frustrating for customers. This is not the first time I have had trouble accessing my unit. We have one unit left that will be cleared out by the end of July and we will probably go elsewhere if we need a unit in the future. Also bay 4's(the tall one farthest from the walk in door) garage door was not working. Had to raise and lower it manually. The staff working on June 6 were very professional. They are not the problem. They are an asset.Craig L.

Lock was snipped twice due to U-Haul employee and communication issues. Nothing done to remedy the situation. The manager of the location yelled and raised her voice AT ME over the situation and then made a sarcastic remark about me not having to pay for the new lock after they snipped MY second lock and at 100 % fault of U-Haul. They were friendly and helpful. They didn't have the size truck I was looking for but worked with me to give me a fair price on a bigger one. Instead of just saying well we dont have it like normal customer service reps. I appreciated that as I didn't need the extra space and don't enjoy driving the bigger one as they are harder to back up and eat up more gas. Its ridiculous that between the truck rental and storages I've spent 400 dollars and cant even get access to my storage without going through a maze!!! This is the first and last time I ever use this company and I will never recommend U-Haul. The storage had junk all over the floor that I had to sweep out. Lights didn't always work. Doors worked part time. Not enough staff. Wait time usually half hour or more. Manager yelling and belittling new employee. Smoking in the storage area by staff and manager. I really hated going there. On one occasion the computer went down and they refused to rent a truck to me promised me a discount never got it.
