Not have used ashtrays in the truck...make the small repairs (replace door seal..adjust roll up door so it closes properly) Customers should not have to deal with ashtray stink..air flow through the door or fighting to clothes a door...especially 1 way moves.

I am unhappy that I was not able to get the kind of truck I booked, despite having booked my reservation weeks before. I booked a 10 foot truck for a one way trip out of province. I went to the Uhaul location on Kenmount Road in St. John's, NL the day before to check, and was suddenly told that none were available. I was given the choice of a 20 foot truck or nothing. There were 4 - 10 foot trucks sitting on the lot when I arrived for pick up on the day of my reservation, but was told that they were all spoken for. I had to use a much larger truck than i needed for a long trip and it was relatively empty. Regardless of the fact that I was given the lower rental rate, this still cost me a lot more in gas than I would have spent otherwise. I am NOT happy! I feel that the clerk was trying to get me to spend more money on a larger tuck. I FEEL LIKE I'VE BEEN RIPPED OFF!

A spare tire & rim should be mandatory with each trailer. The road side assistance number is useless if you are in a remote area, on the highway, etc far from help and no cell service... especially in Newfoundland.

The rig was ready on time and we loaded the disabled vehicle without difficulty and were able to deliver it to the garage early the next am. This was a better option than a more expensive tow truck because I controlled the timing

This truck was dirty when picked up! The box was damp, wet in areas (muddy wet), had small rocks everywhere, ants, dirty, wet sticky paper on the floor. I was getting hay and this was upsetting because I did not want to contaminate the hay, further, I would have been very uncomfortable carrying household materials in this box! First time I have noted this, despite renting virtually every summer for the past 12+ years. Disappointing! I will from now on check the box and refuse the vehicle if in such poor shape (instead of making assumptions on how it is supposed to be clean or cleaned at a charge at drop off)!. Equipment worked fine and I do not mind what the body looks like as long as pre-existing damage is marked! I took pictures.

I found the clerk to be extremely rude. When asking for my details, he dismissed any of my questions and refused to acknowledge that I had called in the day before to extend my kilometers on the truck. The overall tone of the conversation was quite poor. Disappointed.

Vehicles seem old, run down and dirty. Staff are mostly irritable. Best staff member I interacted with was the boy who did the final inspection/cash out. He was calm and nice.

I know it is more common these days for people to have credit cards, but not everyone does. I'm sure there must be a reason you don't accept debit visas, but I'm thinking that some kind of provision for people who don't have any other option might be nice. As it was, I was able to work it out, but if I hadn't I might have been in a bit of a fix.

I brought back the truck with less fuel in the tank than when I picked the truck up. I understand having to pay for the extra fuel but I was also charged a $30 "service charge" which is an outright rip off. There is no need justifiable reason to charge that fee. The next person using that truck will have to get fuel anyway. Not happy with that at all.

suggest agent go over rental with customer, not just at sales counter. need to be with customer when taking unit out of site.mileage and gas gauge did not match in equipment. had to ask agent to adjust to correct reading. overall good experience.

This location was great. Truck was a little old and the lock I was given didn't work but I had my own so no big deal. Very friendly staff. They were really encouraging when I told them I hadn't driven a truck before.

The service was great; all the service personnel were friendly and helpful. The only negative thing with the entire experience - and this has no bearing whatsoever on this location or the people working there - was the demand that I had to provide THREE phone numbers or I couldn't rent a piece of equipment. I only use one phone and so I just made up two other fictitious numbers. That's just a ridiculous demand!

Every trailer I tow has severe vibrations on the highway The location opens at 7:30am, I arrived 7:30am but couldn’t get a trailer until 8:30am because I was told trailer hookups cannot be done until 8:30am

My one way trip costed me 1000$ plus I had to pay gas I had the truck for 5 days and 1100 and some odd miles to use I only used 2 days and 850miles. When I returned it I wasn't reimbursed for any of the extra time and miles I had left.

OK the truck was fine. The pick up was confusing. Their systems were down. I was forced to do it online. I wanted a pick up in Saint Johns and drop off in Grand Bank instead I chose a pick up at Saint johns and a drop off at St. John's OK then during the truck rental I could not get it back on time, the manager of this location on Kenmount Road was ignorant and rude. She wouldn't let me speak my situation. I was asking for her to work with me and all she was doing was threatening me that she was going to get other people involved and that I ruined three or four other families moves because of this meanwhile she would not listen to my situation , which just so happened to be quite a terrible personal situation that occurred during this truck rental. Anyhow, then she told me that I had no absolutely no option to bring the truck back to Saint John's. I'm sorry anywhere else but St. John's I had to bring it to St. John's and I could not do that because it was going to cost too much money so I asked her what was the fee to bring it to another location and she said it wasn't an option only to then I find out that it is an option because it's listed on the website so I ended up having to bring the truck back to the Darren location And my experience with the manager in the Kenmount Road U-Haul was absolutely horrendous. She hung up on me, never addressed or work with me, in my situation and certainly didn't display any professionalism at all. Wouldn't even let me speak on the phone just talking over me It ruined my U-Haul experience. I then received my invoice for over $1800 which I cannot afford to pay. .im sorry for the bad review. I've rented equipment several times over the years from U-Haul with no issues until now. When I picked up the trailer the employee from U-haul hooked up trailer and checked my lights and hitch on my vehicle. He obviously didn't check the trailer as both wheel bearings were pretty much non-existant. I assumed when I loaded the trailer that it was safe and proceeded to tow it approximately 500kms only to realize how bad it really was. I contacted uhaul service and basically had to leave the trailer where it was having to leave a few items I wanted to bring back for another trip. I have a video showing how bad the bearings are...I could have caused a major accident towing this over the highway. No one checked this trailer! I did get my money back on the rental but that really isn't good enough for the inconvenience and risk that I was put through.

I called in and said that his account was not be used for Ambrose Hickey because it was an account that I had set up a couple years back when we moved our dad to St. John's. I used his name because he was going to be driving. I was told everything was taken care of and this account would have a note on it saying he couldn't use it but obviously this was not the case. I then end up getting an email with receipt information and the only saving grace is that there was no money taken off my card to pay for this. Otherwise legal action will be sought after. I really don't understand why it was so difficult to tell this man to set up his own account. Unreal the lack of customer service in this one transaction!!! If N/A is there as an option, then why can you not submit a review with that selected?

My experience with the Kenmount Rd location went very well. However, the first pick up location I was assigned proved to be a very frustrating experience. When I got there, the truck was there, but the location was closed and there was no way to get the key. After waiting 30 minutes to speak with a U-Haul representative, I was told I could go to the Kenmount Rd location. I drove 20 minutes to the first location, waited 30 minutes to speak to someone one, then had to drive an hour and half to get to the second location and then another hour to get home. My original pick up time was 10 am and I didn't get home with the U-Haul to begin loading it until 2 pm. It was a very frustrating experience.

The 'after hours' return was confusing - the on line instructions were not the same as those indicated next to the key drop off door. Also there was not any clear direction to return furniture 'dollie' - it could not be left in the truck as it could not be locked. I stored it in my garage overnight and returned it the following morning.

When we returned the truck 4 hours later, we were billed an additional $120 for gas, bringing our total cost for 47 km and 4 hours to over $250. The person who checked us in did not inform us of the gas surcharge when returning the vehicle, even though it was less than 1/4 full when we picked it up. Instead, two of the employees at the return location repeatedly and accusingly stated that our terms and conditions were outlined in the contract, which was emailed to us that day. However, since we were in the middle of moving, we didn't have a chance to review emails for this fine print. They also tried to claim that a ding on the vehicle was done by us and said, "that's why you should take pictures before." Thankfully, that issue was satisfactorily resolved, but the overall accusatory, disrespectful tone and attitude towards us as first-time customers was extremely unpleasant and means that neither of us will ever use this service again. The customer service was poor, and there was no reason for the disrespectful attitude and lack of information. Improvement is needed! Improvement is needed!

It's very inconvenient that there is no parking lot for customers to park their own vehicles while using yours. Other than that the service is great , efficient, plus a very helpful and friendly staff. The building is well kept and very clean.

For dropoff this location is great. Centrally located with very helpful and friendly staff. For a short rental I would not recommend as they have very little customer parking. I needed a van for a quick pickup, about 1 hr, i was told I had to remove my vehicle from the property which meant I could not complete my rental or local pickup.

Pickup Location - Didn't provide carts nor all the blankets that were ordered. They also did not tell me about how much gas was in the truck. A windshield scraper for the snow would have been useful as well.

All my belongings were infested with rodent droppings. Most everything I owned was donated. No lighting!!! I was there many times and was told the lights were motion detector lights. I had to sort through my boxes using the light from my cell phone. I went there 1 evening. The guy locked the facility before I had a chance to lock my unit. He knew I was there putting something in my car. And the aggressive notice I received when I had a late payment was totally unacceptable. Perhaps a phone call asking if everything was ok and when I could make payment would be more appropriate. This will be my one and only time storing with U-Haul

I had 232,19 dollars charged to my account on Oct.28,2023 and I was unaware at the time that I would have to move my belongings from storage on Nov.4th II requested a pro rated refund and it was denied .I feel this is unfair as the storage is probably being rented again as storage is hard to find .I now am paying for a month I didn,t use .I requested this at time of check out .

I found my building upon arrival based off the map provided but was unsure where to enter to unload storage so I had to ask the main desk but the employee was extremely helpful and within minutes I was set up and had everything I needed. Everything was so simple after that.

I sometimes had difficulty getting into one of the loading doors due to the shear amount of gear that was left around. That would be my main issue.

The local facility and staff were excellent. However, the continuous rise in charges, seemingly on a cycle for the past few years, reduced my trust in this company and I would not recommend the use of UHAUL for storage. No perceived improvements in the service can account for the escalation in rental fees.

Everything went smoothly. The reason why I didn't rate the facility 5 stars is that in order to access my locker, there were a few stairs. So I had to wheel a cart of my things to the foot of the stairs, and take my things up the stairs and put them on another cart. I accept that these are the limitations of the facility but it would have been good if I'd known this in advance.

I had absolutely no issues with this facility. It was very clean and very secure. I was able to access my locker whenever I needed to during business hours. The staff was very friendly and very helpful I won't hesitate to use this facility again if I need to.

The Manager Leonard Mackey was by far the most uncompassionate person I've ever had the pleasure of speaking with . When someone rents a storage unit it's generally during a time of crisis or a life changing situation. There is zero need to be threatening, and rude towards customers who have been renting a storage unit long term and already going through hard times.

Leak in the storage unit, 7:00 pm closing is too early, need more front staff…I felt my stuff was safe and secure, mgmt. Vg to deal with, great experience renting trucks over the years, excellent choice of boxes, place was always clean and well lit

A smooth move-in process with a friendly staff person. The facility was clean and the temperature was quite reasonable given how hot it's been lately. A few suggestions for improvement: It would be good for the website to show the proper times for accessing the storage units that are inside the building. I'm not sure if the website says that there are no elevators in the building and that storage units on the upper level will require using a short flight of stairs but if not, this would be good to mention too (it wasn't an issue for me but some people might find it a problem). Finally, it would be helpful to have more detailed instructions and signage on where to go to access the loading bay.

When we got unit we asked for a climate control unit, but none was available. They gave us a regular exterior unit. A few weeks later the weather got warmer and humid. Everything got wet in our unit and we had to move everything to another facility. We were not told of this condensation problem when we moved in to the unit. If we had been, we would not have stored our belongings there.
