When I made my appointment at the Hermantown location I had driven all the way there before being told they didn’t have a truck and I’d have to drive to superior instead. Also I was double charged (an honest mistake) but it took me questioning it to change it.

Well, I dropped it off at night and was told to do a return on my phone. When I tried, there was no record of my renting of the trailer, no record of the transaction, and no way for me to do that even on the web site. I have not yet checked my credit card to see if I got billed for a second day, but I better not have. This is the first email I have received about my rental.

When you tell a customer that the install will take place at a specific time, make sure that everything is in place to make that happen. U-Haul failed twice in this regards.

When I showed up to pick up my uhaul, i had to be there an extra hours because the person helping me signed me up for the wrong truck even though i had my reservation number for a 26' truck not a 10'. Which delayed me by 45 minutes. Upon leaving with the truck there was a dolly with the green thing broken and she said its fine ill make a note in your contract that thats how it was received. When returning the truck the guy doing my check in asked if i used it and i said no so i had to debate with him for me to not charge me for something i did not use. He wasnt really customer friendly.

Sales pitch on the website says 24 hr access and order confirmation says 5-10 access 7 days a week. I really only get access to my unit 7-7 M-Sat and 9-5 on Sunday unless I pay extra $10. Not happy

We called numerous times before we arrived to ask if they rented or sold trailer hitches. They never answered the phone. I realized once we got there that every time the phone rang they transferred the call to the UHaul call center. The employee who serviced us wasn't very professional.

We had a reservation for 48 hours and when we got there to pick it up, we were told we only had it for one day! We were moving and couldn’t move in on the same day, so we needed truck. Location couldn’t fix it, told me I had to call corporate, was told U-HAUL cancelled the second day because of the need for trucks. Was told I only reserved the truck and that didn’t guarantee me the time I wanted. Poor business practices. I will never use U-Haul again and all my family and friends will know how we were treated.

Dropping off at this location was a piece of cake. I pulled up and was helped and checked out immediately. The hours were also convenient for my busy schedule.

The staff was insufferable. First: employees should wear name tags and/or introduce themselves. They represent the UHaul brand and should be willing to put their names to the things that they say and do. Second, my main complaint: We rented a cargo van to move a mattress. When we returned the van during the check-in, the team member (David or Daniel? Name tags!) never made eye contact with me (he was looking at his phone) or explained the process. He just walked out to the van, opened up the back, and immediately started scolding me for two scratches he found on the fender well. Again, we moved a mattress, I am relatively certain we did not cause these scratches. His tone was very condescending — “this is a brand new van! That wasn’t there before. You had better hope you have insurance because if not we’re going to charge you $1000!” We had purchased insurance so we were fine, but he kept his running commentary going until we had gone inside and looked up the rental contract, which he was barely able to do without a manager’s help. Your staff needs to be better trained on your systems, policies, and basic politeness!

The equipment and service are great, but I was very disappointed with the gas situation. Before I got the truck a woman went out to eyeball the gas gauge, and said "it looks full!" Based on this and a warning that I'd be liable for $4.25 a gallon if I didn't return it full, I did return it full. After driving about 12 miles (you have record of this) I had to buy 5.8 gallons of gas to get it full! (I have a photo of this). There is no way your 17 foot trucks are getting only 2 miles per gallon. I have to assume the eyeballing was off. I can pay for two gallons but I would like $10.59 back. (That's 3.8 x $2.78 which was the gas price that day).

The store seemed to be under staffed. I rented twice... the first time the Employee was eating his dinner as he helped me,stating he has been too busy to eat. Today I waited almost 20 minutes to get helped. At the drop off I wasn't even acknowledged. The Employee was helping someone else... just looking for a I'll be right with you. He avoided even looking at me.

Was set-up to pick up and drop here. Did not tell me I could pick up at other location and it would save money. Saved $125 by picking up in Hayward. Tried to change order on line. Your web site is not user friendly. Had to call. Person at 800 number was excellent. Dropped after hours did not have smart phone to drop key. Stupid!

After 20 miles of using the trailer was blowing my trailer light fuse. Tested and hooked to a different trailer and everything was fine. Went back to the original uhaul trailer and fuses would blow. Had to call for mechanical assistance which put my travels back 1.5 days, therefore using more vacation to complete my move. Finally after half a dozen fuses and some assistance from another on the road I was able to find the wire that was grounding out and causing the issue.

Truck was nice the last two times I have rented a truck from you guys. I have been charged for gas after each time filling the tank. I got the truck with a 1/4 tank. Why are you guys handing trucks out at a 1/4 tank. Looks unprofessional in my opinion I had to go straight to the gas station before even using it. I will go to Penske rental next time.
