Pickup was great. At return the location was not open at 7:30am, posted hours showed a opening time of 7:00 am. There was no open place to put trailer. Lot was poorly lit.

Specific to this location, I was asked to minimize the time I rented the truck because they didn't have a wiper blade. After several phone calls between the staff and myself, we landed on bringing back the truck 2 hours early. When I checked in the day of moving, I was told I could have my original time as they fixed the issue. The staff were courteous, and respectful, just with everything else with moving, this caused an unneeded stress.

When you call to make a reservation you are not talking to someone locally. Someone locally would be better. The call center sent me to a location that was no longer open, so I then had to guess where my rental was located.

Gas was stated as half full. A lousy policy in general. But it was less than half full The driver seat belt was defective and non usable. A safety issue

The moving truck did not run well, it was older with high mileage and many times felt like it was going to stall out and didn't have very good power. The steering felt loose and required a lot of correction just to go straight. The passenger door was difficult to open from the inside.

I arrived at the location to return the vehicle, there were four corner posts signs to park vehicle in a certain location, so I pulled into the parking lot and waited per the instructions on the sign. For 15 minutes I waited, but no one came out, I went to the office/trailer, but no one came out and there was nobody on property. I had to call the 1-800 number for assistance, who did help me close my contract and put notes in m contract that I was there. However, I have not received any notification or receipt for returning the vehicle yet.

Renee was very gracious and helpful. I'd tried phone check in at another U-Haul location that wasn't open today. It didn't go well. Discovered this location was open, and was happy with the service and truck.

This is a new location. We were only offered 2 locations for drop off. Both those locations offered self storage that we did not need or want. No one came out to disconnect equipment initially even though signs said to wait with vehicle. When I went in office (which was a Trailer) staff member acted upset that they needed to attend to us. Attendant was somewhat rude, but that is common these days. I was told I would get an email notification of the return, which did not happen. Call to customer service took over 3 hours to return.

I returned trailer after hours and followed the protocol/got an on screen ok that my return was complete but never received the email confirmation (did receive this evaluation email)... I called a few days later and the nice representative did resend email. Slightly annoying to have to call but my point is that there may be a glitch with the after hours return email?

You should have let me know more than just the day before that i could not rent a small truck at the place i chose and instead had to drive past four U-haul locations to get a 15 ft truck -over 25 miles. I could have simply gone to a Penske facility that was closer. Truck was filthy outside and inside the cabin: bugs all over the windshield, etc. Truck front tires showed obvious excessive uneven wear on tread. Truck rear lights only partially functional. At over 67K miles, seems that this truck should have been retired by now.

Rene at the Traverse city Uhaul provides outstanding service and yesterday she was Under immense pressure due to a another Customer had a wait a very long time To get his keys  but Rene handled that Situation very well! Our pick up location was changed by U-Haul, but for some reason I had to go to the original location I made the reservation for to use the 24/7 check in. So we had to drive back and forth to pick up the truck. We were informed if we were more than a half hour late, we would lose our reservation, so it was nerve racking and a horrible experience!

I rated it low because all 3 employees were woahfully under trained. It took FOUR visits to finally be checked in... after having the space checked out instead of checked in, almost lost it because it was open for rent again & then have a lock put on it even though I had a free month. Do not open for business unless they are given good training. Otherwise they are clueless & customers get frustrated

actually traverse city was excellent but the original pick up location at Lode's garage in Kalkaska was an exhausting and unacceptable experience. They had no truck available for us and never called to tell us before we drove 2 hours to pick this truck up and we needed the truck that day. we were not shown any remorse for the mishap and directed to drive another hour out of our way to pick up a smaller truck than we had originally requested without anyone feeling bad for this or expressing any care at all. we were given a mere 50 dollar credit for our inconvenience. I am extremely disappointed in uhaul and I am seriously considering never using them again and advising my family and friends the same

Wonderful service from the one woman working. She was so helpful and kind. Being inexperienced, we wouldn't have been able to hook up the trailer without her. Easy drop off after hours with online site! Worked great for us!

changes my days, and then had to change it back when i said something which changed my rate to a higher rate than quoted but they didn't know what to do about it or how to change. drop off location was in mancelona and they couldn't find that. mostly annoyed about the higher rate i had to pay

The Uhaul Rep was great. She had clients coming and going and overwhelmed with business. She handled it great. The car trolly I rented was in good order, but, we had to pick through three of them before finding onethat was usable.prior clients had returned them damaged.

The representative was a nervous wreck. She struggled with the safety chains on the trailer and acted like it was her first day. The trailer was parked in a bad position with relation to parking lot signs that made it difficult to back up to the trailer. When I pointed out damage she said I could report that later but didn't explain the process.

The address listed for the location is not recognized by map apps or GPS. Type "981 N US 31 S Traverse City, MI 49685" into Google Maps and you'll see it shows a location 2,5 miles north. I had to call the location, fortunately the woman working was very helpful and gave me instructions. But it put me back 30 minutes.

I rented a truck and a car trailer. They had no idea what kind of car mine was so they guessed, saying they knew. I questioned this twice. I was told when I picked up the truck and trailer that the trailer didn't look near big enough. Jake, after also stumbling over finding the right vehicle in the system and ultimately guessing, assured me it would work, and if not to call amd they would fix it. I packed the truck and went to load the car, and it was NOT the right trailer, my car didn't fit. I called the Traverse City, MI location where I picked it up, no answer. I called roadside assistance, got disconnected after waiting on hold for 25 minutes. I called again and got transferred to customer service. After the 3rd transfer I was told I needed to buy more straps to hold the vehicle down. No ma'am I was told everything I needed was going to be provided for me and that the car did not fit appropriately to even attempt tying it down. After almost an hour of waiting fir a call back and sitting on the phone, I was told there were no other trailers available. By this point it was 3 hours later, it was pouting down rain and we were soaked, with all of our dry clothes packed in the truck. I needed to leave as I had a deadline to meet. I had now already missed my appliance delivery and the next available date was a month away. Now when I got to my new home I would have no appliances, no fridge, no nothing. I said I was leaving the trailer in my yard and they could come get it. The lady said she would have someone come pick it up that night. I called the next day and explained to Jake what happened, he said they would go get the trailer, apparently no one did it the night before. The next day Jake calls back amd says they will be there in 2 days to get the trailer amd he will call me when he gets it. 2 weeks later after I have made several calls to try and reach Jake, I still haven't heard from him. Uhaul has closed out my dispute twice without contacting me at all. Last contact with customer service I was told that there result was I would not be receiving any kind of refund because I left the trailer. I wouldn't have had to leave it if their employees knew what they were doing. They guessed on what my vehicle was and gave me a trailer according to that. They were wrong and are at this point refusing to take responsibility and issue a refund. This is not the end, Uhaul will continue to hear from me as I will escalate this to the top. Never again will I do business with a company that is this incompetent with such poor customer service. I should also add that my truck was the biggest piece of crap, the transmission sounded as it was going to blow at any moment and the driver's door didn't latch. Quality service...not even close.

Horrible location to navigate trailers...couldn't be worse. Trailer didn't have a jack..had to lift manually. Location should be shut down. Lady that helped me was super nice...but owners should be de-franchised. Going to another location next time.

Although your staff was great the equipment was not. The truck we rented had issues. When you applied the breaks there was an extreme shake and almost pulled the steering wheel out of my hands. Also the transmission was not shifting properly. There was a hesitation between first and second gears and the the engine would race at times when it would down shift.

It was night so this may be different for daytime customers, but nothing was well lit, and the instructions for entering the complex were nonexistent. It was unclear that I needed to then down a side street then then into the complex between U-Haul and a trailer park.

Entranceway should be widened and easier to return larger rentals, it is possible but not easy. Signage could be improved upon. A fully paved lot would also be nice.

Friendly and helpful transaction. We got the last unit available. It was very icy in front of the unit, which made moving items into the unit hazardous, but it went without incident.
