We rented a cargo van in order to pick up 55 gallon fish tank and other small furniture and several boxes. When we arrived at our destination We learned the side door would not open The back door did. Several movers now blocking the street because a side door is not working. We told the young man when we returned. He seemed indifferent and offered no support or willingness to adjust the price. I was charged for a van and told when I picked it up all was fine.

I will never rent from UHaul again. This was the 2nd bad experience I have had. I was contacted 515p the day before pick up by the original location that they didn’t have my size trailer. I had informed the rep when I made the reservation that I was coming from Atlanta to NY to get my items. If I had know ahead time I wouldn’t have made the trip because I didn’t need the larger trailer. I would have waited. The rep over the phone was very nonchalant about my situation. The guys at this location were very accommodating to my situation.

I tried two trucks. The first truck was too small for what I needed but it was in great condition. Then I switched to a different bigger truck, but this one was not so good. The engine seemed to not be working perfectly. It would a lot strange noises and it would not pick up speed or be very efficient. We made it do with what we had but we were definitely concerned the truck just might break on us.

Better training for employees. I was told my vehicle combination did not work for towing when your site said it was ok. Desk person asked me to call corporate....he did not call. I explained issue and someone from corporate called White Plains site to talk him through it. It was finally worked out but took 2.5 hours to rent a trailer. This is ridiculous. That being said the price was great. Oliver (not working desk) was particularly helpful at pickup and drop off.

It doesn’t make much sense for Uhaul to offer vehicles with less that a full tank. In our case, the tank was 3/8 full so that we had to return it with 3/8 as well. It was not too much of a problem since we drove 36 miles; it would have been an unnecessary headache if we had driven a lot more.

Despite setting up my Reservation close t where I live, I had to go to white Plains to pick up which costed me precious time in the morning. I was supposed to get a motorcycle trailer and they told me they were all down and that I could use larger different trailer. They had no knowledge of how to tie the bike down and it did not come with anything to tie it down. Finally I did not end up taking the trailer because, i was promised the motorcycle trailer for $20 whenI reserved it and White Plains was not going to honor the price. The truck I rented had a bashed in door which sprung open when it was open (this was obvious structurally damaged and not safe either.

Your web based vehicle return app wouldn't let me submit a picture of the dashboard upon my return. I have an android mobile device and I attempted the same action with both Firefox and Chrome. Other than that my exlerience was good.

Everything about the rental was fine, and I like the speed and efficiency of the system. However, I was told that there was 3/4 tank of gas in it and should be returned with the same. But as I was driving away, I noticed that there was only 1/2 tank. Then I returned it with 5/8 and got charged more than $15 for the "difference". I guess that's "buyer beware", but I would appreciate a little more honesty.

I had reserved a 15/‘ truck for Saturday morning. Late in the day, U-Haul left a message to say the truck would not be available until 4:30 in the afternoon. I asked for another location so I could get the truck I needed on Saturday morning. When I got there, they only had a 10’ truck for me. This required me with helpers to make two round trips since the truck was too small. This cost me double in extra miles and cost me an additional $200 in labor ($40/hour for the two workers). Not a happy customer!

Here’s the problem - the kid at the counter was extremely disrespectful, snide and disinterested in any semblance “customer service”, let alone the concept of respect for elders. However, when he ran and got the manager after I offered to teach him a lesson, the manager was a perfect gentleman. Get rid of the kid and this place works great.

The worst service possible. I booked a 26 foot truck for pick up at White Plains New York location when I arrive there they told me they bumped my truck and I had a take a 20 footer went all way back to Scarsdale start to packed up stuff needed a bigger truck had to go rent another truck at the Yonkers location. When I went to return it after hours couldn’t find a drop off slot for key .. couldn’t check out online had to call customer service had to lock key in truck and then some lowlife from the Yonkers location called me and got an attitude with me when I told him I left the keys in the car because it was a snow storm and couldn’t find drop off spot and then he hung up on me. Worst experience ever.

I would give zero stars but that is not an option. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. The first truck they gave me had a nail in the tire, the second truck smelled and drifted all over the road. They overcharged me by 2 days even after I went back there to tell them that I had returned it the night before. The location manager is totally unprofessional.and unresponsive. Shame on his manager for allowing it. There is a lot more but I am too annoyed to keep going.

I was charged $19 for safemove and a safetrip fee without my knowledge. This was not something I signed up for, nor was it recommended to me by the employee. I feel as though the employee is a thief. In addition, I was charged for gas, a service fee, and fuel, despite the Uhaul being filled down the road moments to me returning it. That adds up to another $45.30. I have already filed a complaint and am waiting for my refunds. The reference number is #2495296. Finally, this same employee forced me to park illegally in a handicap spot even though I said I didn't feel comfortable doing so. His response was "I work here, you're not going to get a ticket". A truck or another car could have easily been moved to make space. I've had issues here before, but nothing like this experience - they need some real training. I will not be going back to this location.

Make sure you road test the vehicle before you rent it a customer? I drove a 15’ box truck over 300 miles yesterday and the alignment was way out-like steering a ship. It was a simple fix, very disappointing.
