Trialer was older than my grandma and had several water leaks that ruined 500 $worth of product of mine i didn't say nothing bc last time this happened all the manager said was you are supposed to inspect it before you leave. This is the 2nd time I have dealt with this particular U-Haul staff member by the name of Melanie Rattie. She was rude, unprofessional, disrespectful, and just plain ugly to deal with in any manner. She even was ready to over-charge me in milage. She even had the nerve to cuss at me underneath her breath. Would love a Senor Mgt. Member from Corporate office to contact me at 210-862-6043. My experience at this location was very unfortunate. The staff: Augie and Melanie were NEVER on the same page Augie was willing to work with me Melanie is rude unprofessional, lacks good customer service skills however she DEFINITELY has no skills I guess uhual was unable to find someone to fit the job description so they settled for her. When you contact there district manager he automatically takes there side. When I voiced to him my concerns he NEVER followed up. I will NEVER get a UHUAL Truck or STORAGE from them again. I pray that I NEVER fall on hard times again. Not compassionate to customer's needs. Clerk did not discuss pricing with me when he changed my trailer from 4x7 to a heavy duty 6x12. I did not need the double axles nor the size. I was looking to upgrade to the 5x8 trailer. I did accept the trailer because I was in a hurry. However, I never saw it until I returned it and saw the double axles and hydraulic pump to release the trailer from my hitch. If I hadn't shown up while they were closing (7pm), I wouldn't have known how to use the stand nor pump. They did not show me when they connected it knowing I was scheduled to return the trailer at 10 pm.Frances B.

It was my first time moving and using a U-Haul truck. It was an awful experience. I ordered a truck through the mobile app and expected the truck to be at the rigsby location in San Antonio at 10:30am like it said. The next day I arrived at the rigsby location and was informed they didn't have the trailer and sent me to another location 9miles out 6745 FM 78 San Antonio, TX 78244 United States. That's already 9 more miles put on the trailer. I went to the 6745 Fm 78 location and the lady was very rude telling me my reservation was for 11pm when I had my reservation for 10:30 am 10/30/21 . She kept telling me that the reservation was at 11pm and I explained to her that I just left the rigsby location and just needed to truck to move and that I set my appointment to pick up at 10:30am . I also ordered 5 large boxes and she said I had to go back to rigsby to pick them up. Knowing that'll just put more miles on the U-Haul. I didn't understand why I couldn't just get 5 large boxes from that location. Anyways I finally got the truck and was on my way. Truck was in fantastic shape and very clean. I just wish the experience was better.Mark G.
The guy you have working needs a job some where else down the street. He got made bc I parked next to him while I was saying hi and good morning to another employee he was honking and raising his hands up like we wanted to fight. He needs to make sure he is carefully doing that might not have such a patient guy next time. So I told the manager and she was trying to justify why any company would think that is ok... I absolutely have to give a huge thank you to Melanie and Darius out of the FM 78 location. I don't come across good customer service much so on the occasion it happens I'm speechless. Melanie went above and beyond for me. And it doesn't matter if they're slammed busy or no one in the store, she has such a positive attitude. Darius is exactly the same. He's been there on most of the several occasions that I've rented there and I just have to say WOW. He has a great positive attitude. His response is never â€œnoâ€ to me but rather â€œhey let me go whatever I can to make that happen. . Clearly lazy is not in his vocabulary. I hope that corporate reads this, because there'sa lot to be proud of in these two individuals. I see huge futures for both of them. I've been in sales over 30 years. They're just fantastic. The lady Melanie I believe is here name, might be the most rude person I have ever had the displeasure of working with. The truck had a ton of damage and the app wouldn't work for me to upload pictures. The pictures on the website were so old the truck looked brand new and it's got 160k on the clock with damage to show it. Why do you keep changing the pick up location at the last minute. What is the point of making a reservation at a location convenient to the customer and then you change adding more distance, driving time and stress. Of all the Uhaul reservations, interactions, and rentals, this Uhaul gets my top recommendation as being the most helpful and basically kind. They went out of their way to make sure I understood everything about unloading my trailer into their storage facility. They and one other Uhaul employee helped me straighten out a wrong trailer hookup from my point of departure, to a reservation for a UBox from a Uhaul dealer that has no UBox rental or storage at her facility, to waiting long hours on hold and getting disconnected after waiting over an hour multiple times, to local UHaul dealers who never answered their phones so when National UHaul picked up the call, they could not help me with information about a specific facility. It's been an ongoing nightmare and THIS UHaul was the bright and shining light through the entire debacle. Your staff are rude. I signed a contract stating that I had access to the building via my key card until 9 pm. I was no showed four times in a 24 hour period by my movers. They finally showed up on Saturday and we began moving items out at 6 pm. At 6:30, we were told that we would need to move everything back in the unit that was out in the hallway and leave the building. I said that I had access until 9 pm and that I had been doing this all weekend and was exhausted. I stated my things would be out as soon as possible. The manager said that I was allowed access but not my movers and they would have to stay outside. I told him that was ridiculous. He made the same statements to another family who had just showed up to move their items in and also had a key card. The manager called the police. The officers were actually the ones who told me that the key card machine was not working. I signed a contract. If the key card was not working, the manager should have stayed and facilitated. He is the manager of the building. He wanted to go home at 7 and not do his job. This experience was stressful and embarrassing and I will tell everyone I know never to use U haul. The guy and gal closed the door on me while I was pushing in my cart and told me to stop moving my furniture. Meanwhile he let other people move there furniture who were not black. Then he called the police on me...1 man my wife and my 10 year old son in flip flops. Never been disrespected like this the guy was an overt racist and I will never recommend or use this company again. I normally have a good experience at this location. This time as I was closing my storage unit, I unpacked the locker and left items I no longer wanted in the community share area and moved the rest to my new home. After I turned in the vehicle, I proceeded to check out of the storage. I was told that I had to move the items that I left , and that I would be charged a fee for leaving items. There was no sign stating this new rule and I asked where was the posted sign and info, there wasn't one. So I had to rent a truck to take away four items to a dumpster 3 miles away, costing me another rental and miles for no reason, at least not one that was posted. Forcing customers to spend more money after already paying 104 was indeed bad customer service and staff were not willing to work with me even when they failed to produce a sign or the new rule in writing. I had Issues getting through to staff with specific concerns. I will Definitely never use an outdoor unit again as spiders were all over my things. Last time I did A Uhaul storage outside there weren't any bugs on my things. When I told someone, he said it's an outdoor unit and they spray but bugs are going to be on my things. The customer service was either frustrating or good, not consistent. When I called And asked to cancel my storage after I moved my stuff out, a worker said I had To come in person even though I stated I cant Be there in person. He acted as if nothing could be done and i must be in person or id continue to get charged, he didn't even try to talk to anyone about it. I called Again the next day and the manager reassured me they already marked me as moved out and there were no addt. charges. So the lack of communication and inconsistent answers was not the greatest. There's a air conditioned facility a couple miles away that offers lower pricing for the same size unit and I wouldnt Have to worry about bugs. Uhaul pricing is higher than their competitors. I marked It average for the initial waived late fee and for the confirmation of move out without any other charges since I was Before my next payment due date but this location is not consistent in any way.Alisha R. | Expérience générale

The person who moved in next to us came with an infestation of roaches. Our storage became infested with roaches which was the reasoned we had to move out to another storage facility. I feel the insurance policies should be changed to cover insect infestations and where the parties affected are compensated in some manner (ex:free Uhaul move out, reimbursement...). We returned the truck at 6 pm but were told by Myrna, I believe, that they close at 7 and this was not enough time and to come back later. I told her we would have the truck empty in 30 minutes and she became angry. She slowly took my information and repeatedly got names and numbers wrong and the information had to be repeated. I went to the rental office first to ask where my unit was located, I wish at that time the two sales associates would have told me I needed a pair of scissors to cut the tag off of my unit to access it. That video makes it look super easy and maybe I'm not strong enough to pop the plastic. I also wish they would have let me know what to do on my first visit. I figured out after my 2 year old daughter was traumatized that the most God Awful alarm sounds, which I believe is triggered by motion on a floor if someone isn't checked in? However I didn't see anyone head over to investigate, or check out what was the matter, so we walked out the front and we were going to call someone thinking maybe it was a fire alarm and then read on the key code box failure to check in and out results in denial of admission. I punched in the code I was emailed and went back up with scissors and then came back down and the alarm went off again. I know now not to bring my kids with me. Went down and punched out and left. Pretty sure there are others that are clueless as to the checkin process like myself. I know in the email it states to enter your code for building access. However, the automatic doors were not locked. So, using the word access is misleading. Even the video shows the gentleman punching in his code in order to open the doors. This place was by far the worst experience I have had with uhaul. We are in the military and move a lot and have always used uhaul but after the experience with Augustine and his employees I would not use them ever again. We ordered a large storage unit to be given 2 separate units on the opposite side of each other making it harder to unload the truck. With COVID I understand restrictions and limitations however their recycle and reuse stated can be used just no mattresses and couches. We adhered to the posted signs that was typed and tapped on the walls to be told rudely in an intercom that we would be charged 200 for using said space and following the signs. After my husband who had to go the manager Augustine it was explained that we weren't doing anything wrong as we followed the sign however they don't want us to so others won't do it and do it wrong. It astonishing that we are being threatened to be charged for someone potentially doing something wrong after us. This could have easily been corrected if they simply change the sign. Due to the accommodations and not having enough space is why we had to downsize and "donate" or use the recycle section. I had to let go of furniture I didn't want to. The manager offered us free 30 days for another storage unit. I shouldn't need another just to have to pay more money monthly. A free month on another storage would not help with the dilemma that this facility caused.Sparkle M. | Premières impressions
