Call or email me when my pickup location changes, instead of surprising me. And then if you do that, maybe knock a few bucks off to show you care instead if being greedy c$&@ts. And then don't rape the customer by charging per mile fees and fuel level gas match on in town rentals. You've lost a customer.

At this location, the staff was respectful and knowledgeable. The rating reflects U-Haul's inability to deliver the equipment closer to the customer. After several calls to customer service, in short; “If you want to rent the equipment, you have to pick it up where it is”. I'm paraphrasing, however it added 2 hours to my travel plans.

I will start by saying Paul - at this location - is great! He personally made sure that a terrible situation caused by Uhaul corporate was resolved to the best of his ability. However, Uhaul as a company - TERRIBLE. A reservation was made and confirmed by Uhaul - with no equipment available. When the 9am pickup time came, it took nearly an hour of phone calls to get a truck - smaller than reserved, and at a different location. Uhaul has a policy that they confirm every reservation - EVEN WHEN NO TRUCKS ARE AVAILABLE! So unlike the rest of the world - when you have a confirmed reservation, it is NOT a confirmed truck. It is a confirmed REQUEST for a truck. Of course, this is in the small print and stupid required checkboxes before hitting continue. Nonetheless, NUMEROUS managers and agents told me that this is Uhaul's policy. One agent told me directly - best advice he can give is to rent from Penske or Budget!!!! Recommending competition rather than solving the problem. This company is terrible as a corporation. Moving is stressful enough for people without a company like this messing things up on "Move Day". Only way to improve this is do what EVERY OTHER COMPANY IN THE WORLD DOES - When no trucks are available, just tell the customer that no trucks are available. Then, if the customer would like to be on a standby list, they can CHOOSE to do that. But confirming a reservation that will never come to be is just a terrible way to screw customers, and a terrible way to conduct a business. It should be fixed - IMMEDIATELY. (By Immediately, this means - NOT ONE MORE RESERVATION UNTIL THIS IS FIXED).

When inquiring about small equipment rentals, such as dollies and padding. You should separate the two on your online truck return. Case in point, when I returned the truck that I rented, the question that I was asked is, did I use the dolly “and” the padding. I only used the dolly (which I reserved originally). Obviously, I answered yes on one question for both items.

I loved the pre-checkin on line ... it really did make everything so much faster and easier.. your employees are awesome.. I have never rented from UHaul before, they need this experience for me smoothly .. I have also never hooked up or used a civilian trailer before (I'm military and have used only military trailers) so they showed me how to hook up the trailer & dehook the trailer. They also showed me how to use the trailer and what it's capabilities are. I also didn't know about an adapter for the lights and didn't have one they let me borrow one and also have a discount on the price for being military as well .. I will definitely be renting from this location more often

The staff at the location was very friendly and very helpful. I was impressed with their professionalism. Three areas of concern are: There were jagged edges of metal on the motorcycle trailer I rented by the loading ramp. If this goes unnoticed, it could easily puncture a tire. I pointed this out to the uhaul representative when I returned the trailer. When I initially called to rent the trailer for the week, the representative I spoke with at the Deptford location said I could only rent the trailer for 4 days because “that is what the computer is telling me.” When I called back and spoke with the manager at said location, he informed me that the representative I initially spoke with is wrong and that I could rent the trailer for the week. He completed my reservation as requested. This caused me minor inconvenience. I was also contacted by a Deptford representative on the day I was to return the trailer. He advised me that my rental was due back the day before and that someone tried to contact me and couldn't reach me. No one in fact tried to contact me and my rental was due back on 9/5/2020 as indicated on the contract which was when i returned it. The representative I spoke with at the time of return stated that me must've mixed up my reservation with someone else's.

I was very pleasantly surprised at how quick and easy it was to rent a moving van for the day. The workers were extremely pleasant and seemed happy to help us with anything we needed. All that was great and the cost was extremely fair and reasonable.

Your website was not updated to reflect COVID-19 restrictions. On my reservation I selected to pick up the truck in Deptford and return it to Swedesboro. During the pickup I was told that the truck had to be returned to Deptford - then I was given two different reasons why I had to: first that all rentals had to be returned to the original location, and if it wasn't there would be a 500 dollar fine; then I was told that the Swedesboro branch was closed due to COVID restrictions. This ended up adding an additional 15 to 20 miles onto my trip and I feel like I was being lied to. I also was never given the dozen moving blankets that was on my order reservation - I had to double back an hour into packing the truck to pick them up, adding time onto my day. The exact opposite of my previous experience with U-Haul the last time I moved.
