First time customer and I received terrible instructions from an employee on returning the van. I followed his instructions only to get a 100 $lock of fee. I would go out of my way not to use uhaul again. I will be advising my friends to avoid this company altogether and specifically this location.KEVIN M.
This was the worst moving experience. Our boxes were delivered and picked up on time in TX. We then moved to IL and I have multiple emails that say guaranteed delivery Sunday 9/5. We planned help to be available that day when the boxes came. I was on the phone for over an hour trying to get ahold of someone at Uhaul on Saturday to confirm delivery time but I was ultimately hung up on. Sunday came and went and then Monday someone called me to schedule delivery. I said I needed the boxes ASAP and the first available was Wednesday morning. They didn't get delivered until 12 noon. I asked for the boxes to be picked up ASAP Thursday while I was on the phone on Monday and the guy said they'd be picked up first thing Friday morningâ€¦ of course they weren't. They didn't get picked up until 2pm Friday. Overall terrible experience and unfortunately made our move very stressful. I had a quote from PODS when I was planning our move and I greatly regret not going with them. They were very friendly and talked me through the whole process. Seemed way more put together and legit.Jessica B.

When returning equipment, the person at the front desk was not able to clearly answer my question about purchasing one of the orange furniture dollies. I wanted to purchase it rather than rent it for 7 $/day. According to the front desk person, they are not for purchase which surprised me.Nora K.

The boxes were different sizes so we had to ditch a bunch of furniture, and I specifically asked for no furniture pads yet 8 giant bags of them are in my container. They said I can bring them to any location to drop off. Here's an idea; if I say I don't want furniture pads, don't put them in the god damn box.Michael N.

Make it VERY clear as to the fact that you require an inspection of the vehicle doing the towing upfront BEFORE allowing someone to complete the rental reservation; we had to cancel and chase around last minute to get this done. Also, make VERY clear your return instructions, especially if it is different per facility. The facility told us to park the trailer in the space where we picked up, but gave us no other instructions. When we got home hours later, we discovered we were supposed to take pictures and check it in online while at the facility to complete the return; because I live a good distance from the rental location (due to the inspection we were not made INITIALLY aware of), I couldn't chase back to the rental location. Thank goodness the facility did not charge me for any additional time on the rental. Bottom line, BE CLEAR ABOUT YOUR RENTAL POLICIES UPFRONT AND ON YOUR WEBSITE.John V.

Ubox was delayed a week past the guaranteed arrival date. I was told that I'd have a credit of 50 $per day the delivery is delayed, but there has been no communication from Uhaul regarding the credit and I'm spending over an hr to just connect with Uhaul on the phone.Young R.
The U-Haul phone app malfunctioned on return and would not accept the pics of the dashboard for final check-out to be completed. When I finally went inside to check the truck in, I waited more than 10 minutes with only 2 people ahead of me - they really needed more associates behind the counter at 4 p.m. on a Saturday.Thomas T.

The Rating system for the Location is not applicable in this survey in my opinion. You should be rating your IT Systems, Applicatioins and Customer Service Representative response time. I signed up for what I thought was 24/7 mobile pickup but when I showed up at 7am on Sunday, 8/15, the website app wouldn't release the lock code for the key. It kept looping me back to the original website. I called Customer Service as was on hold for over 40 minutes. While waiting for a CS attendant I repeated the online process numerous times with the same looping results until I finally got a message that my Contract had been changed to "Hand Delivery" for pickup at 9am. In the meantime I had a crew of 6 Movers at my house doing NOTHING! An attendant showed up about 7:45am but said there was nothing he could do as the systems do not come on-line until 9:00am. While he was very courteous, I could tell that his dialogue was completely scripted as was his verbal interchange when I returned the truck. I have never dealt with a more "Hands Off" approach than I did with this rental experience! Had your 24/7 Mobile system worked the way it was supposed to, this would have been a cakewalk but it didn't. And I wasn't the only dissatisfied customer with this same experience. The location was convenient and clean, the attendant was courteous but your Technology Systems need to be clearer to understand and work the way the customer expects it to work.ALLEN V.
The oil light came on and the tape that was holding some window trim on came loose while driving. I did the 24/7 pick up and had confirmation for a Sunday morning 7am pickup. When I got there and did the app it said my reservation had been changed to 9am when they open. I had 4 guys at 25 $per hour at 7:30am and I got back with the truck at 9:30. Not Happy!!MICHAEL N.
1) When you complete the check in. It doesn't tell you what you should do next. I had to wait in a long line because there was 1 person handling the line. Only to find out I still had to check in with a person! 2) if your store says it closes at 7 PM. Actually lock the doors at 7 PM. I showed up at 6:50, only to find the doors closed. Mobile check in gave me a really hard time. Followed the prompts to allow for sharing of location. It took almost 20 minutes to complete this process!Savas B.
The whole rental experience was good, no issues. The issue came when I was unloading my stuff at the storage unit and needed to use the bathroom.....no toilet paper, toilet was clogged and the bathroom as a whole stunkDARRELL F.

Other than being a complete rust bucket. There was an older gentleman who works there, who felt it necessary to condescend to me. I guess since I am a mirror woman I need step-by-step instructions how to get into a truck and how to move the seat forward. Never mind the fact that I drove a truck three times as big from Phoenix to South Bend, but I thought in this day and age, women have more respect. He also raised his voice at me when I was taking pictures of the outside of the truck, since it was so old and there were a couple of above minor damages that I didn't wanna get blamed for. I only rented the truck to move a couple of pieces of furniture, next time I will do this I will probably look for a different location even though this location is right between the two houses I move things between.JULIE S.

My last rental was 2 Uhaul boxes and both arrived in Florida with the contents wet so water got in. I think the biggest issue dealing with Uhaul was the number of calls I had with customer service and was transferred numerous times to different groups and again long waits but then no action was taken. Uhaul group for payments was to call me back the next day and never called me and then no notes in my file. Also the last Uhaul box had broken locks and the box could not lock so my goods were exposed to theft etc.edward T.
We REALLY needed just a cargo van. However, uhaul does not offer 1-way rental for vans. This meant we had to pay A LOT more money+gas for a 15' box truck so that we could travel one-way for our move. There was a ridiculous amount of empty space in our truck - we covered less than 1/4 of the floor with our boxes - nothing stacked. The price difference was so huge that I considered driving all the way back (6hr roundrtip) to return the van, but that was impossible because I would have had no ride to go back again (since I would not have been able to drive my car back up at the same time I am driving a van back too). Please consider offering 1-way rental on your vans.DALE P.

The customer service at the 800 number was the WORST I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY LIFE! Whenever i would call, my wait time was usually between 20-54 minutes until I could speak with a representative. In addition, I provided a new credit card number to use for payment online AND again with the 800 customer service reps on TWO occasions. However, when I went to my pick up in Austin, they did NOT have the credit card number on file! In addition, I was NOT notified about the permit that I needed in Austin until it was too late. Then U HAUL couldn't provide a reasonable drop off date while I was in town. I had to resort to renting a UHAUL truck with a hitch and driving the uBOX container over to my apartment myself. I am VERY, VERY unhappy with U Haul customer service. I will NEVER recommend U HAUL to anyone ever again!Elaine J.

I wish there was a u-haul store contact number to directly call them to know about the initial arrival schedule in advance to plan the moving help accordingly. This is certainly a must-have thing. Wait time at the customer care line was at least 1 hour each time... Felt like U-Haul doesn't care for my time. Having real-time tracking of the containers would also be a good-to-have feature.Ashish B.

I followed your signs when I returned my rental. Sign states stay with equipment until employee arrives. I sat there for 10 minutes then walked insidebecause no employee acknowledged me but there was several inside Chit chatting. My time is valuable. Every once of your customers time is valuable. I advise perhaps letting your employees learn to have a bit more respect for a customers time. I mean without customers you don't have a business do you?? First and last time I have used U-Haul. Going back to Enterprise where they made me feel like they wanted my business. Not your place where heaven forbid they lift a finger for them customer.Scott O.
