Equipment #DC3580T has a failing transmission. We had to extend our rental to return this during a safer time when less drivers were on road. Breaks work, but gears do not shift. Truck maxes out at 20mph and sounds like it's using significant effort to get to 20mph, as truck then shakes. I contacted U-Haul after our return and they confirmed that this truck was scheduled to be rented that day. I certainly hope the rental was cancelled because the truck was not safe.Alison J.

Needed assistance at the facility twice - once to help me arrange a repair of a flat tire and again when i returned the equipment the next day. The store manager explained that he was not allowed to make the repair but he allowed me to stay at the facility while -U-Haul road assistance arranged the repair with a local tire service. The initial mileage was incorrect leading to higher mileage charges. I drove the vehicle 6,5-7 miles yet was charged for 13 miles my mistake was to not take pictures of the mileage before and after. The charge for the insurance was 7 $higher than what I selected when requesting the uhaulMarsha L.
I put the right amount of gas in the truck before return and they charged me for 2 gallons. What's with that?GARY W.
I showed up and the van I had reserved was having a tire issue. I ended up having to take a truck instead which is much harder to drive. In addition, the dolly I had reserved was not available and they gave me one that was too small for the job I was doing. No one called me in advance to explain the complications and offering a truck for the same cost as a van was not adequate compensation.JOCELYN O.

I called customer service and waited on hold for two hours and we were stuck with a truck that was not safe and mechanically sound. The truck was stuck in tow mode and the brakes are squeaking the entire time until we brought it back. I am extremely dissatisfied with the general manager at this location as he was extremely condescending and rude. I have been using U-Haul for over 15 years and I would never rent from this location ever again nor would I tell any of my business associates or friends to rent from this location either.DONIELL W.

I ordered a 15' truck with the loading ramp as I was moving a very heavy large floor tool box scheduled for 1230. I received a 10' truck no ramp and had to wait until 1:30. My friend and I had to left the tool box our selves and he hurt his back. There was no discount given. I needed that truck and was very inconvenienced.I almost didn't make it to my destination on time because it was also an hour late. Very upset.John C.

Have your employees show up for work on time and not over an hour late. Don't charge customers for fuel when they returned the truck with the fuel they started with.JODIM P.

The movers were absolutely horrendous, I had so much space wasted in my truck as well as so many things damaged. I also rented a Tow dolly for my car, I asked for assistance from the employee at Uhaul. He did not strap my car on the dolly correctly and my car was also damaged. Same shit, different day with uhaul. It claims you'll get a call to confirm but you don'tâ€¦ several rentals of experience. It sends me to the first location i chose to pickup from but ALWAYS is wrong. They claim I was supposed to get a call about the location change (email says it too) but a call has NEVER come for any of my rentals. I asked the kid working if it happens often since it does to me and he said â€œyep, literally all the timeâ€. Bad experience per usual. Sent to multiple locations.COLE H.

I was told by the person who I called that the trailer I needed was available. When I got to the store at the time I was given I was told the trailer was never available. Instead of calling a1888 number you should be able to call the location directly and speak to an associate there because they know what they have available.DONNA M.

I reserved a van for a 7am pickup. I was helping my daughter move to NY and needed to be there early to meet with maintenance and service men. I also hoped that an early pickup time would help us to avoid traffic. I arrived at the Glenside Uhaul at 7. The door was locked and no employee was present. An employee didn't arrive until 7:20. She did not have a key as it was not her job to open. The â€œgentleman â€œ whose job it was to open the office finally showed up at 7:30. He was unprofessional, surly and unapologetic. I was scheduled to return the van at 5, inquired about extending the time and he snapped at me, â€œI said you could return at 5:30!â€ While admittedly I could not know for certain, he appeared to be hungover. If you truly want to improve on customer service I suggest you limit his client contact.TERRI C.
Our booking location was changed from the one down the road to one half an hour away. But at least we were notified of that. Apparently our trailer equipment was changed (to a smaller one) and WE WERE NOT notified of that. Found out when we came to pick up the trailer. And the Uhaul employee "helping" us was incredibly rude about it. "Well I can just cancel it then if it's wrong" - AWFUL customer service at Glenside.CHRISTOPHER W.

If I could give a rating of zero I would My experience at this location with General Manager Julian Loughrey was disgusting His rudeness unprofessional and profane langue was disgusting and unacceptable I came into the location to ask a question about additional charges applied to my contract for a cleaning and service fee that had been emailed to me I was confused and was hopeful that a representative could clarify it for me â€¦ I had returned the rental in the same condition I rented it in (I used the rental for two hours to move a sofa and mattress) After presenting my question to the uhaul rep His response was you're just trying to get out of charges And Jesus Christ I don't have time for this bullshit I was beyond offended I told him how unprofessional his response was and that I came into the location for help with a question NOT to be met with a disrespectful comment like that or rudenessâ€¦. It's unwarranted and unacceptable I ask him does he speak to all customers in this manner he responded smugly rolled his eyes multiple times and said every last one of them and he's not changing so deal with it I ask for the customer service number for how this manner was handled he gave a card with his info and stated it's not going to make a difference Before leaving I told him you should treat people with respect and his behavior was unacceptable I'm so disgusted with my interaction with this establishment Being a business owner myself I would be beyond ashamed to have someone represent my brand in this way I've spoken to a few prior customers there were at least 5 other customers who shared having similar interactions It's disgusting and unacceptable When someone is patronizing a place of business they're expecting a certain level of customer service..I wasn't asking or expecting for anything other than RESPECT as a customer You would think as a General manager you would've gone through the proper training on how to conduct yourself in a professional mannerKASHA W.

They didn't have blankets for the move as requested on the reservation. I had to go to another UHaul to fulfill the needs for the move. Unfortunately Glenside was unable to call or use their online system to determine who would have blankets.
