The staff was courteous and very helpful. However, the trailer was gross. A sweeping wouldn't be enough. It really needed to be pressure washed inside. And the door was very difficult to close. I cut my hand trying to move the latch when it caught in the up position. I had to step on it to close at the bottom.Michael N.

All of are experiences have been exceptional at this location. Prompt service. Clean facilities. Especially the bathroom. I know that seems odd to say but how a bathroom is maintained, says a lot about how a business operates.Noble S.
The insurance is a scam. We got the SafeStor mobile insurance for our U-Boxes thinking naturally that it would cover us if anything was damaged during transport. But turns out the fine print excludes almost all types of damage. Did your stuff arrive damaged? You must not have packed it correctly (correctly packed stuff won't arrive damaged) and the policy doesn't cover damage due to poor packing. Did the damage occur from rough handling during transit? The policy doesn't cover damage due to items shifting during transit. Did someone break into your box and damage stuff? The policy doesn't cover damage due to intentional acts. Did something valuable get damaged? The policy doesn't cover "valuable items" like antiques or jewelry or art. In short, the optional insurance is a scam. It won't cover you. Don't buy it.Benjamin B.

More customer service training, when I brought the van back a day early, I waited for ever for someone to come. I eventually went into the store though the garage area, found 2 employees behind the desk doing nothing. Neither checked me in, and was told they would email me the final receipt. Two days later someone else called and wanted to know when I would be returning the van, I told her it was 2 days back in their store and I was still waiting for final receipt. She was helpful and within a couple hours I got final receipt.Charles C.

The ordering experience was very easy. We ordered our box online, and when we went to pick it up the people working in the Minnesota office were very helpful and knowledgeable. The box was available right when they said it would. Filling it up was easy. Taking it back to the U-Haul location and dropping it off was easy. The difficulty started about three days after we dropped off our box. Due to some real-estate issues we were not 100 % sure where we would need to have our box delivered so we asked for it to be held at the U-Haul location in Poughkeepsie. Once we arrived in NY and had a definite home location, I went online to change the order to have our u-box delivered to our new home. I went online and clicked â€œEdit Reservationâ€ and was unable to change anything about my order. So I called the number listed on the website and spoke with a very friendly operator who said they could give me information about my u-box, and that it was picked up and on route. This was good to know, so I asked if I could adjust the delivery location of my box. I was told I could and I was transferred to another rep. This rep was very short, and she said that I would only be able to make that change after my box was delivered in Poughkeepsie. She said that as soon as the box came off the truck they would call me and I would be able to make any delivery arrangements I would need. Also, she said if I needed help I should contact the office in Poughkeepsie, and they could arrange delivery or anything else I needed. This seemed very strange to me, as this is a national brand and I should be able to have an order changed. Especially if it was a small change, and one I was more than willing to pay for. However, I was told that this was impossible and I needed to contact the U-Haul location my box was going to be delivered to. So, we waited for the call on the delivery date given, however the call never came. At around 4:00PM the next day I went to the uhaul location in Poughkeepsie and asked if my box arrived. The man on staff was named Jason, and he was very helpful. He said that according to their system our box had not arrived yet. I told him that I was told by the customer service rep that he would need to schedule delivery. He said he was not able to handle that because they only ran the storage facility. However, he gave me the phone number for â€˜Traffic' and said they could schedule delivery once the box arrived. As it was already after normal business hours when I got back home I planned to call Traffic the next morning. Before I made that call I decided to check online and see if my box had arrived. According to the online tracking system my box had not arrived. I called the Traffic number and they said that the box should have arrived, but they will transfer me to the local office to get more information. The person from the local office was very helpful, but confused as to why I was calling about an order from weeks ago. Also, she was sure it was filled, and not sure why I did not know it was filled because the order was a drop-off. Then she said this was the Minnesota office, and I would need to call the New York office to get my box delivered. She connected me to the New York office. The very nice rep from the New York office said that my box was in Poughkeepsie, and that it was delivered on time, even though the Poughkeepsie U-Haul people did not know it was delivered. This rep called the Poughkeepsie office, had someone go out and visually verify that the box was delivered. Let me emphasize that the second rep I spoke with on my first call insisted that as soon as my box arrived in Poughkeepsie someone would call me, however I never got a call. Also, she said that it would be a simple matter to get my box delivered and it was not. After that I drove over to the Poughkeepsie location and asked where I could find my box. Turns out, it was at another Poughkeepsie location, just down the road. I drove to that location and found my box behind the warehouse. At this point I was told delivery would take a day or so to set up, so I just made trips back and forth to unload some stuff, then take it back home in my car. Once we unloaded our box I went back to the first Poughkeepsie U-Haul location to let them know I was done with my box. The very nice woman who helped me asked if I had clean-out photos. I did not as I was never told I would need to take clean-out photos, nor was it mentioned on the directions inside the box door. She said that would be ok, and she took my name and number so she could close out my order. However, her system would not allow her to do so. Also, another customer in the office was having a similar issue at the same time, so when she used her personal cell phone to call someone for support, she ended up sharing her phone with another employee so they could both get their issues resolved. The checkout process took about 20 min. Overall every person I spoke with was very professional and all but one were very friendly. Each person obviously wanted to do their job well, and cared about the customer. However, the system setup they were working with was very cumbersome. I gave up on having my box delivered to our new home due to the hassle involved with the U-Haul website and phone tree. The U-Box service was great, and I would use it again, however, I would plan for self delivery at both ends of the trip, and I would not put anything into a U-Box that was â€˜mission-critical' for work, as delivery can go sideways very easily.Levi T.

The Uhaul that was given to me, had issue with it. I rent uhauls every weekend for my business and never had issue with truck like did this time. I'm very unhappy with the truck that was given to us and it needs to be looked at by professional. The cab of the truck was super hot , with a/c running, the oil came the last day of returning it, the check engine light kept coming on the second day and the truck would not go 45 mph and if you tried to go it, sound like it was going to brake down. I a very unhappy costumer and I a lot more reservation coming up and I'm going to look into other company that be a better fit for us going forward.Randy N.

The van needed pad and rotors. Didn't enjoy the vibration during braking. The one hour arrival window really needs to be looked at. I almost lost my reservation because I didn't see this policy in the fine print. I arrived 20 minutes past the window.The check in associate did go out of her way to find a replacement van and rebook the reservation during this high peak holiday weekend. The return was a far more pleasant experience than the check out.Christopher D.

Friendly staff. Very efficient, both at rental and return. Great location, well stocked with supplies for lashing down my motorcycle for transport. Recommend this location to anyone, I'm a frequent customer. Kudos to Natasha and Jennifer- especially nice to deal with!!Brandt R.
So disappointed in using uhaul and definitely won't use again. The truck was covered in dog hair and didn't realize it until I got on the road and was everywhere. Totally disgusted and highly allergic . Spent excess time in hotels showering and taking allergy medicine. Also when I picked up my equipment no one is helpful and the gas cap check light and bell was going off the whole time. The guy at the Poughkeepsie location told me it would go off and it didn't so had to listen to the chime for 12 hours. Uhaul has no customer service. Also called to address these issues but the operators just noted it and did nothing about it.Christopher M.
I was very impressed with the fact I could call and arrange to have a van held for me. I was not even aware this option was available since I don't rent vans/trucks very often. When I arrived at the Uhaul location, I was happily greeted and quickly received my van after supplying the needed information. Very pleasant experience.DONNA L.
When I arrived, the staff at this location displayed an ambivalence to customers and a general lethargy. When my van only blew hot air (not A/C) on a 93 degree day, I returned it and he wanted to argue with me. When I returned the van later that night, the App didn't work and would not let me check out, and the website listed at the drop off I dictated that I did not have a reservation. I eventually had a rep on the phone finish things off (and she was courteous, diligent and efficient). But overall, my experience was poor and I was very disappointed.Rene S.

This particular truck should be taken out of service. The steering is way to loose and the parking brake got stuck. It took two of us to disengage it. Could not get a person to answer fir roadside assistance and the staff at the rental store couldn't either. The staff at the store were fine. Your truck was pathetic.JoAnne T.

We followed the self-guided instructions via uhaul mobile website to pick up and return, however, while completing the instructions to return, an employee approached us and told us we weren't supposed to be doing that and we actually needed to drive the van around to the back. (Not what the instructions told us to do.) It was confusing and a little frustrating. Either the website instructions are wrong, or employees aren't aware of the procedure.Hannah G.

I will never ever recommend the u-haul one in Kingston NY, they screwed up my order and the day I was suppose to pick up the truck they said that I was suppose to pick it up the day before and I said no the origional contract was for saturday and not friday, they said they had nothing for me, so i had to drive 45 minutes to this location to get a truck and ended up paying for the extra mileage to bring it back to kingston, plus i had to arrange for someone to pick me up when I returned it, I have the text message saying when to pick up the truck in kingston and the employee says we don't go by the text... you would think when their employee makes the mistake and they know it but won't admit it, I would atleast got 10 % off of my bill..very disappointed with the kingston one, my hometownrichard S.

The folks that check in the vehicle need to check everything out on the vehicle before it goes out. The passenger side headlight was out and was given a warning from a local police. Also as the fuel prices are still VERY high if the customer leaves the vehicle with more fuel the customer should get a credit, though I know that historically has not.Paul C.

The truck I received had the cup holder portion falling out, the dolly holding frame was broken so it made it seem as though I used the dolly. The staff team seemed to not want to do their job, they weren't welcoming and I felt as though if I brought an issue on the truck to them it would be made into my problem. Upon returning the truck(2 hours before original dropoff time which was 4pm), I was ready to do the walk around so I knew If I saved money for going under the amount of estimated miles, but instead I was greeted with a "okay, leave the keys on the seat you can go" then at 6:30pm I get a call asking to return the truck, even though I left the truck with them 4 hours prior.Denva H.
