This rental has turned into a big headache. I was double billed and charged for damage I didn't commit. I was able to get a refund on the erroneous damage charges, but was still double billed for the rental. I've spoken to the manager and have sent emails to the corporate office and still a month later have not received back my refund for being double billed.

Just traveled four hours to this location, needed to use the restroom - plumbing was out. Ughhhhh The young lady at the counter was exceptional; the man outside getting my vehicle ready was rude and nasty. I ended up with the wrong size truck (was given a smaller size although I paid for a larger size (man would not fix it) and was overcharged for the number of blankets received (6). Both issues were due to a flaw in the online reservation system.

As a regular customer, who rents almost on a weekly basis, there should be a much easier, quicker and more efficient procedure for signing in for picking up the rental vehicle. The new procedure makes no sense for customers who rent on a frequent basis. With today’s information technology, it should be easy for UHaul to securely maintain and store our pertinent information and images, so that the pick up procedure is quick and efficient.

The customer service representatives I spoke to were very helpful and had a funny sense of humor. Will definitely go back next time I need to rent equipment. However, one thing I was very disappointed with was that they ran out of equipment. I specifically ordered two utility dollies ahead of time online and they were not available there when I arrived on time. Luckily they had the appliance dolly available.

I made an appointment all three times but had to stand in line for over 30 minutes first time and at least 20 second time. It’s absolutely ridiculous that it takes that long and no information is saved!! I did the online check in that said it cuts pick up time in half. It did not!

I was told by UHaul that I could drop the trailer at any UHaul location in Los Angeles. The first one closest would not take equipment because they were closing that location. At the second one on Overland Avenue, we were approached by a man who said he was the owner and he would not take our trailer. We asked why, he said in a gruff voice, "my shop, my rules". We had to then drive fifteen miles in heavy LA afternoon traffic on the freeway to Santa Monica. Not even in the same city. Service there was OK, but slow. We were very unhappy about this experience.

At 715am on a Saturday there was a line of 10 people/customers inside. No one at the desk. The only reason that changed was because someone from the line went out looking for staff. At 730am another guy casually started working to check people in... but not before he'd taken a few minutes to make himself a coffee first. Once I'd finally been served, outside was no better. No one did anything for the first 10mins (except from one guy who just checked my contract again and said 'someone would be with me soon'). There was confusion/discussion around which pickup and auto-transport I was going to have (why was this an issue when I made the booking on Wednesday?!) and then the guy hooking it up couldn't have moved slower/gave less of a shit about anything. I pulled out of uhaul at 8am... an hour after I arrived. I was told (on the phone) to be there first thing (7am) cause Saturdays are 'crazy' but what's the point of that if there's no from uhaul around?!

I was told there would be a Dali in the truck that I would pay $7 for if I used. I got to the location of my move and opened the back and there was no Dali in the truck. I called the location and waited 10 minutes and nobody picked up and I was transferred to the corporate number. I called back and same thing happened. I was told they would call me. Never happened. I was told that I wouldn’t be billed for the Dali....yeah I know!! I was never offered anything to make up for the fact that I was extremely inconvenienced and then had to go out of my way to rent a Dali from another U-haul.

The parking lot is set up horribly and is very confusing. I moved on June 1st, the guy working there said that this was the busiest day of the entire year since the college kids are all moving to. There were THREE employees and the line was so long. It was so slow. When it came time to return the uhaul, my boyfriend waited in line for 20 minutes until finally one employee asked if anyone was here just to return. He said 15 people raised their hands and she said, "Oh, you can just leave your paperwork here. You don't have to wait in line." Not sure why he and everyone else waiting in line wasn't told that when they entered the store... it was completely understaffed and chaotic.

Mr Gale who seems to run the place is a complete asset to your brand. In every way. And he doesn't get bent out of shape and he knows EVERYTHING. I will definitely go back. My truck however was a problem. A day in the air vents stopped working and would only blow out of the defrost at the window. I had 3 days driving in the desert so no AC was a nightmare. Furthermore the Aux cable input worked very poorly so I couldn't listen to anything I wanted to. I can't say either issue is the fault of the pick up location because they failed on the road. Were it not for great service at both ends you'd be receiving a big complaint. Your employees saved the day

Took van back and was supposed to get a refund credit, but receied closed billing, which I contacted gen mgr Tony Waters, but no response.

This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had with vehicle rental. When we arrived, I had completed the check in online and had the truck number from the website. I asked an employee, Robert Duran Jr, what the next step was, as the website told me to wait for the keys. Robert stared at me and then flippantly said I’d need to go inside, where there was a massive line. He had zero interest in helping me and just walked away. An employee inside told me I needed to go outside to get the keys, since I’d already checked in. I then spoke with Robert again and he told me the truck the website said was ours had just been rented to someone else, he told me to go inside AGAIN. Meanwhile, this is around 10:15am and our reservation was supposed to be at 9:30. I spoke with another employee who found a different truck for us. Robert pulled it around, said nothing and then just left it for us. I did the inspection and took a video, we were told by a different employee that we were all set. 30 minutes later, we arrive at our apartment and realize that Robert left the padlock on the door to the bed of the truck. We then had to go back to the U-haul facility to get it removed. Robert has zero interest in helping us, and even denied getting the truck for us when we were first there, taking no accountability for leaving the lock on. There was never an apology. This is completely unacceptable customer service. We weren’t able to fully use the truck until well after 11am. I would like compensation for the inconvenience and wasted mileage and time due to employee incompetence and rudeness. We immediately called and filed a complaint, as well. I am actively telling everyone I can to never use this location EVER, as they are not deserving of anyone’s time and hard earned money. Completely unacceptable.

I waited in a line for over 30 minutes to pick up the truck that I had spent time reserving the day before. Some of the people ahead of me in line had clearly not reserved ahead of time. There should be a separate line for reservations. Also, after I received the keys, the employee who brought the truck over said that I needed an app on my phone or an email with a link to take the truck. Another 15 minutes went by with me trying to figure out why/if I needed this email/link. The employee did not help at all. Finally by going back into the shop 3 times, someone told me I don't need it. Overall, I wasted 45 minutes of my life for something that should have taken 5 minutes. I must emphasize that not one of the employees, even the owner of the location, cared one bit that the line was so long and that it was going so slowly. We all even overheard them joking about it a few times.

I believe it is unacceptable for a truck to break down which is what happened with my truck rental which forced me to be charged for a second day. I had to wait 1.5 hours for a (very pleasant) repair man, get my truck to run again. He told me he had come from Pasadena after repairing a U-Haul truck with the same problem.

I had a big problem with this location. I picked up my 10’ truck and when I got to my destination I couldn’t open the storage door because it had a combination lock on it. After spending almost 30 minutes on the phone with customer service, I was asked to go back to the store because they had given me a truck with a lock by mistake. It cost me 2 hours of my day and it was a lot of trouble.

Physical location and people there were pleasant. Even your customer service that called me to help was extremely polite and helpful. However, the U-haul app on Android had no working pictures for me to click/use during my check-in process. This made it quite frustrating as a first time user and first time experience. I also noticed that when I asked a worker on site for help that there is a disconnect as to what I was trying to accomplish and what they are able to see on their side.

The management staff here is so great and it sets the tone for all the people that work there. They really know their products and always help with getting things to the car, and recommending products. It's a busy location but they are always patient and polite! AAA+ location!

I was told to go here, because the initial place I was told to drop off the truck was "full". It took over an hour to get me processed, because their internet connection was not working properly, or their app, or whatever it is. Otherwise, the people were real nice.

Upon returning the rented equipment, the uhaul associate mentioned everything was good About 30 min later I received a call stating there was some damage to the rented vehicle I believe they contradict themself If theres a member checking in the rented equipment, why would there be needed a second inspection once the customer has been cleared upon returning the rented equipment If theres any issues they should point it out in front of customer Maybe the workers made the scratch and now they blame the customer.

The reservation was changed at the last moment. I had a reservation for 430am and they called at 7:00PM the night before and left a message letting me know they no longer had a dolly for my reservation. This location conveniently closes at 7:00PM. I called customer service at Uhaul and none was willing/able to help

Upon pick up of the rental vehicle I was greeted by a man who was not pleasant. He gave no advice or asked any details of my move. (I see you will have the truck overnight, just know you will want to get a lock etc). Overall he was horrible and would never want him greeting/assisting any customers. Totally different experience when I returned the truck. I was greeted by a very nice and helpful staff whom I would recommend anyone to work with moving forward.

She was eating a bag of chips through out the whole time we were checking in. And the way she talked to the new employee there was nice either. The guy was really nice though.

I was sure glad there were people there to help me when the program glitched! It even tried to overcharge me more than $20.00. I did not appreciate not being told that for extending my reservation for a few hours I would be charged an extra days rental on the Dollie and blankets because I didn’t need them the last few hours at all and could have had them dropped off. I felt a bit nickeled and dimed. I was not apprised of eco fee of $2.00, full day charge for dollie and blankets $12.00, which the program tried to charge me double that too, I also was not apprised of a tax, which I don’t remember being charged when I pick up at my usual place, Agoura, and was charged $22.00 for that. All and all despite being a loyal customer for more than 30 years and returning the truck with more gas than picked up with, I was charged $36.00 more than I was quoted. This is not the fault of the people who work there because I booked online and these charges were Not disclosed. I’d like to see you fix this and I’d like get my $36.00 back. This location is very busy and the parking lot was packed and there was no one directing traffic and cars and trucks piling up everywhere. The service was good but it took over an hour for us to get our car transport trailer hooked up to our truck and we were pressed for time to get on the road. I only picked up the trailer at this location we already had the truck with us which I rented in Westlake where I used to live. Uhaul never notified me that my trailer was not available in Agoura Hills until I CALLED Uhaul to let them know I was coming to pick up the trailer and was told they didn't have a trailer for me even though I made a reservation three weeks earlier. I was told the only location I could get a trailer was your Santa Monica location on Sunday morning which again delayed us getting on the road another hour. That is very poor customer service and customer communication.

The pick up location is great. The website however is horrible. Twice we set up a truck through the website and were sent to a location where no truck was waiting for us. Both times we ended up going to Santa Monica and were helped there instead. this ended up costing us time and money with our movers. We will not be using the website anymore. Great attitude, happy to represent U-Haul, pulled out the van, showed me how to operate it, walked around for damages, and explained all the costs. Happy again on the return of the van. Whoever the couter person was on friday around 4pm needs to definately go through some sort of training. I worked at budget for MANY years also avis car rental and other customer service jobs and i have never had anyone treat/talk to me the way she did over the phone and trust me i have had some crazy customers. She was an employee representing uhaul and treated me like absolute dog crap, literally yelled at me as if i was her child, (hope she doesnt have any) all because i wanted to extend my rental. Things happen and plans change no need to yell at the people who put money in your pocket and are trying to spend more money with you. Card was good and on file i did t see what the issue was? Is my extra money not good enough or was she just in the mood to crap on someone. I am so turned off by the way i was talked to that i wouldnt rent there and am making sure i go through every outlet possible to get that uhaul audited/rated/looked at not only by customer service but by the territory manager as well as uhaul head quarters in arizona. I hope anyone who goes there doesnt have to deal with being belittled especially for trying to spend extra money by an employee.. completely unacceptable...

Very crowded location. Not enough staff on hand to service customer needs. We had to wait in line for a hour to pick up a truck that we had reserved ahead of time and had also done mobile check-in. This is unacceptable. However, staff was very courteous and service-oriented and did well under pressure.

Please pay more attention to the accuracy of your odometer. I was only using the U hall for 22 miles, yet i got wrongly charged for 139 miles. Thankfully I saw the receipt in my email just in time. Couldnt settle everything through the phone, had to come back to the office and settle down the correction for an error on the odometer that causes it to count my mileage wrongly. So inconvenient and disappointing.

When I arrived for my 24/7 pickup of 10ft truck, the wrong key was left in the lock box. I had to wait 7 hours to go back when the store was open to retrieve the correct one, which upset my moving plans. I was told by customer service on the phone that night to contact the manager of the store where I was to make my pick up and explain the situation to him. I have phoned countless times in the past week to speak with the manager and left voicemails and messages for him and I am yet to receive a call with an apology and explanation for the disappointing experience that I had.

The truck was covered in dents. I paid extra for insurance just incase. I ended up having to call a uhaul tow to pull the truck out of a precarious spot because I did not want to damage the truck. To make up for the money loss to Uhaul on the tow I was charged a $200 cleaning fee. This is unacceptable.

My only issue is with the Ready-To-Go boxes. I rented 22 of them for a move and on your website, it stated that boxes were cleaned and sanitized between uses. The bins that I picked up definitely were not. I had to clean and wipe each one as all had dirt/debris and smelled of a previous users perfume or detergent. But the worst boxes were wet (not sure if it was water or something else) and moldy. One even had oil spilled inside. There was also unclear communication about return time and I was charged for an extra week of renting the boxes for dropping them off 5 hours after delivery time (which was not specified to me on pick up or that day when I called to let them know when I was dropping off). When I tried to call the location to figure this out, I could never get through to them directly after calling multiple times. However, the shining star was a customer service agent that helped me get the extra week refunded. Unfortunately, our call disconnected toward the end before I could confirm her name, but if you can find out who helped me, she was great! Very helpful and kind.

The customer service rep in the store is unable to speak to people with manners and without attitude. Yelling is never necessary. I am a very calm person and rarely complain. 3 times in 20 years, but it is a growing trend for folks to hate their jobs and wear it on their face and attitude. I would say teaching your employees to smile and be polite and not argue with customers and not yell at customers and treat all people with respect.

The woman at the counter who checked me in was outstanding. After check-in I was standing outside with another customer waiting for my cargo van and the outside u-haul employee was tied up helping another customer properly hitch a trailer to his suv. As soon as the counter woman was done with customers, she jumped up, came outside and helped me and the other waiting customer. This was about 9.30 am on 2/27. I'm sure you can track down who the woman was and make a note of her outstanding customer service.
